On July 4th I posted that I decided to wait on the Billionaire's club, and spent over 100 million gilding a couple of shrines and buying treats to level up some dragons. Well, I kept my DC about 700 million since then, crowned a Liberty and Plasma, finished upgrading all my habitats, and the first upgrade on each section of my gem island, bought an extra habitat to house 3 of my excess Platinums, and have all except my Cold Shrine to gold (I only need one dragon). Well, today I finally hit 1,000,000,000. I have over 700 gems and over 4 million treats. As far as dragons, I need the Sapphire and a second Cyclops. I also want seconds of a few gemstones. I need several eggs, but I plan on getting those as fails, not just breeding 2 dragons together. I started playing about 11 months ago, and I finally feel that I can relax and enjoy the game, it got quite stressful having so much thrown at me all the time and my son and daughter so far ahead having started 9 month before me.

Very nice progress! Glad you are past the stressful part of the game and hope you are never against a dragon leaving deadline in the future. koala!
I like the limited dragons, it's just stressful when you have too many to get all at the same time. You never get to catch your breath and go for the regular dragons you are missing, like opposites. Now that I am caught up, I can laugh at 86 tries while trying for my second Jade. I was almost hoping for 100. I can also laugh at all the Platinum fails trying for Cyclops. I will admit I was glad I bred my first Amber before the sale ended, although I wouldn't have bought it anyway. Like Wapatango, I generally don't breed two dragons together for the egg, although I did for the Bouquet and Bearded as I'm a mom and both my parents died in the last 10 years, so I really wanted them. I do sometimes get my 3rd limited by breeding two together. But for me the fun in the game is breeding the dragons, even though it sometimes takes forever like Spring for me.
I just made the Billionaires Club! (yay me) I still have a lot of goals to accomplish - I have at least one of each dragon - but I still need the doubles (tripples for the "Poppy Rule") and a display egg Forest, Amber, Double Rainbow
I'm amazed that you can all be so self-controlled with DC and treats and gems. I'm still feeding dragons as fast as my DC allows. I'm going to have to save up for the last island soon, that will be a severe test. I guess I just don't have enough epics to break through the spending barrier yet.
It all depends on how yo u play the game. My little park (L36) has 1.5 billion DC and 6M food but all my shrines are still bronze. Meanwhile my big park is L45 lots of epics, three L20 dragons, 6 L19 and the rest at least L15. But only 66M DC and 1M food. In a couple of hours I will have another L20 (my Liberty is one bite away) but even less food and DC.

I haven't had time to buy food for a few days and I'm up to about $350m cash now lol
My food is up to about 155m, I'll start feeding the dragons once (if) the level cap increases.
I'm really hoping they bring out epic shrines - I've got the food and the dragons, now I just need the ability to do it!
I like to keep a fair bit of cash on hand. If I don't have at least $300 in my wallet I start to feel uncomfortable.
In this game, I keep 2 billion DC on hand and get food with any extra. I have all the gold shrines, and about a dozen level 20 dragons, but I'm not aiming for level 20 dragons or anything. Just, what else am I suppose to do with the DC over 2 billion? Also, I still find it fun to feed the dragons and see them grow. :-)
I have 13 billion DC at the moment... also sitting on a stash of 18.5mil food
I suspect my DC/Food count will dip, as I'm currently levelling some dragons to 15 (I planned to do so when the level cap rose)
I have been playing the game for a long while, but I chose not to go for the shrine grind (my metal shrine's still bronze, lol! Everything else is silver...)
Instead, I chose to target multiple gem pedestals (I'm aiming for 3 of everything? I think) Still lack the bronze and Autumn dragons, but I have at least 2 of everything else.
Within 24 hours of the DragonVale 2.0 upgrade, my dragon cash dropped from 2.3 billion to 1.3 billion. (Buying the new island, clearing it, buying a lot of food.) That's a huge drop. I need to stop being such a spendthrift!
I am no longer in the billionaire club. I decided to spend my savings on treats to raise dragons to earn more magic. After all, the reason I saved it was to have it when I needed it. After this event is over, I plan to work on rejoining this club. After all, membership in this club comes with such great benefits. I love the cake.

I hear ya Wapatango. It too saved up in order to have the DC when I needed it. My only concern about spending it all is wondering what BFS will come up with next.
