Hi all I'm pretty new to this game and I'm totally addicted already .. The only thing I'm gutted about is not being able to get the new dragons released for example ovalith as I don't have Panlong or bloom so really gutted ... But I'm also guilty of spending real money and need to stop and be more patient ... But seeing the potential of some peoples parks makes me want all the dragons now x
A big part of the fun is the excruciating frustration. Hold off spending until dire need to make the most of it. Although... we've known people to splurge just out of that grateful feeling. You know, like finding a concert-grade chamber orchestra playing in a Salzburg street just when you were feeling you were in the Sound of Music. (Been there, done that, guilty as charged, even on the Salzburg count...)

Due to the new Cooperative Breeding cave, I've revived an old account I started waaayyy back when (and leveled up only to 4 at the time) in order to take advantage of the breedable dragons. Somehow the account got reset, so back from level 1 (not that that is a big jump) but I've got to get up to level 10 in order to make the dragons breedable to others.
DANG THIS IS HARD! I'm used to having tons of money and treats at my disposal. I'm up to level 8 and impatient lol. Geez, and Earth dragons seriously take forever, too! Contemplating spending 99 cents on the starter pack just to speed things up! (I totally would if I actually had any money in that account lol)

Hi and welcome. I just started a new baby park myself. It certainly is a change of pace.
Yesterday I started a new park to have another possibility to coop-breed with. I was lucky : I've gotten a Bizurian as starting dragon. I had to push my park to level 10 to be able to breed with it though. I sent a notification from the other park before the dragon was capable to breed with : the notification didn't show up. Don't know if a facebook notice would come through because I have no facebook account nor a twitter account but the last option - the pure notification - seems not to work right.
What I realized is that new players now can get hybrids for new elements from the Galaxy dragon without having to buy them, for example I've gotten a Scorch dragon without ever buying a Lightning dragon. This can save some DC in the beginning. And by coop breeding you can get a lot of dragons which you have not the level for. They are kept safe in the gifting list, ready to be bred when the level is achieved. Thats quite nice !
Also I find the thought from jamesvaler very interesting : all Galaxy dragons have four elements, they sure could be the beginners for a new park at the other side of the Galaxy habitats.
viviane : I now have a Bizurian I can breed with, thank you for sharing yours till now.
dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for

I actually started playing DV just over a month and a half ago (which also corresponds to when I finally upgraded my phone to my first smart one). It was pretty fun when I started, but things got really exciting when the cooperative breeding cave was introduced a few weeks into my playing. Suddenly, even low level players have a chance to get epics! Thanks to the CBC, I was able to get my first rainbow dragon (which was a twin!), two Olympic dragons, and just recently, a dream dragon! The CBC has also allowed me to have a shot at the past epics that the higher level players already have. It's made my gaming experience immensely more fun as a new player. And now that I just turned level 26, Elysium, here I come! (With a little help from my friends, of course!)

That's great. I wish you lots of koala in getting all the dragons! If you need more friends there are lots of helpful people here you can add.
Really happy with my gorgeous avatar by ElektronX! GCID: Andr3i4 Any and all friends for Cooperative Breeding are welcome. Gladly accepting any twins also.

Help! I am both new and very old I am both weak and very bold Now friends I need a helping eye In case not - my isle will die
Could you please try and figure out How my new GCid - came about It is not me who made the ( They were just there ) Without my help ☺️
Question: How do one type what is in the picture? I do not get contact between my playgrounds ... (Yes I know I am bad and old and .....)
Oldsmol, could there be hidden spaces in the name? It is very puzzling if you did not create it this way. You cannot get into the park?
Thanks for answering!
My problem is that I do not know how the right BCid should be. Now I have gone around the problem through making invitations in Game center, but I do not feel comfortable not beeing sure how to write my own GCid ☺️

I recently came back to Dragonvale after not being on daily since the apocalypse dragon was released.
I found it especially hard to learn all the new features. The cooperative breeding cave was difficult. I have only just figured out how to put up dragons for cooperative breeding.

You should have come here and asked qutions. This place is full of people who love to help out like that.

I agree, I didn't realize there was online forums like this just for dragonvale. Very useful!

I just started a few days ago, and now I'm seeing all sorts of limited dragons that I have to get before they disappear for an extremely long time or even never come back. It may be a good idea to try for the garland since it's a hybrid and not an epic. What do you guys think I should try to get before they pass? List: Gems (Sapphire, Amber, Bismuth), Summer, Solar Eclipse which I think I have no chance at. I am saving tickets for the snowflake dragon for coop with my sister's snowflake. The other faire dragons I want are prism and dawn, but my sister bought the prism at 2150 (Phew) and I think I can secure dawn through coop in some way.
List:
Gems (Sapphire, Amber, Bismuth)
Summer
Solar Eclipse which I think I have no chance at
Garland
Priority suggestions? I don't want to wait years to get the dragons I want, like Summer. However, these epics can be bred in coop.

Hi and welcome.
All the epics will be available from any time through the CBC, and so will Snowflake and Monolith as long as you have at least one of those.
Gem dragons can only be bred during their available window because you cannot use the for breeding, so you cannot clone them.
Regular limiteds can be bred out of date, as long as you have at least one of them, as they require two of them for cloning.
There is most likely a Bring 'Em Back event at the end of the year where all dragons will be available, but you will probably want to use that time to breed dragons that don't return during the year, like Leap Year (although next year will be a leap year. Wow. I remember almost missing out on the LYD the first time around. Doesn't fly. Anyway …) and the Panlong Dragon, which won't be back for another 10 years or something of regular playing. Also the other anniversary dragons which didn't return for Dragonvale's 4th anniversary. The point is, you should use the BEB to breed the "extremely" limited dragons. So
Garland should be your first priority. It might not be back again ever, outside a BEB. Everything else at the moment will be probably be seasonable, so you will be able to try for them over the course of the coming year.
I will also say, you will certainly be waiting years to get some of the dragons, assuming you are going to collect them all, because we are up to 238 dragons at the moment, with new ones coming out all the time. About half are epic or limited, so even if you could manage 2 of those hard to get dragons every week it would still take you over a year to complete your collection. This game is a marathon. :-)
Oh, and why not join up to the forum. You will receive emails when new dragons are released and it's a pretty cool place with lots of knowledgeable people.
I also find Bloodstone's Monthly Forecast useful for figuring out which dragons to breed when (and keeping track of what is currently available): dragonvale-tips.proboards.com/post/82620/thread (note that under December is the Bring 'Em Back Event -- including a list of dragons without predictable return dates)

If I go to 2084.org, the chance of getting a garland from my ash and obsidian is about 3%... If I can somehow save for the epic breeding island, then it's still only 6%. I'll just hope to get it.

I welcome you to the forum, and encourage you to sign up! Lots of useful information can come flying your way, and it's easier to follow the forums! It's free, and only requires an email address (and if you don't want emails, you can't turn them off).
hope you don't get overwhelmed by a busy game, it can be fun, frustrating, but it's a good time waster on all accounts!
