Nice trees. We don't do one. When we were first living together, we got a couple cats (still have one of them), and we'd come home to find them literally in the tree hanging out, or the tree on its side. We do have this thing, though: which as friend made for us. It's a wooden tree shape with Christmas lights poked through holes from the back.
Some towns have some impressive displays. The main drag through Pigeon Forge, TN, gets all done up every year, and it's extremely impressive.
My son-in-law put a hook into the ceiling and they tie the tree in an upright position. The cats still get into the tree and play with the ornaments, but it stays up.
Awesome trees!! I'd post mine, but it's not decorated yet. Mostly because we haven't put down the litter-filled sandbags yet. Yes, I said litter-filled, as in cat litter. It secures the trees and keeps it from falling over, as our cats have a habit of tugging on the tree and climbing it. The litter's used up during January.
Why, yes, I have a grand memory of rescuing our fallen Christmas tree from the furnace that it fell on. We blame the cat, who was two years old and very high-energy. And a big climber.
My holiday spirit died 5yrs ago with my dad. I haven't gotten anything for Christmas since or even for my birthday at that. Makes it seem pointless to get into it. But I do like y'all's Setups

Thanks Viv! I missed you too! Yes with the snowman light. We have several of them in different spots. We always make sure they can see to get to our room when they stay at Nana and Papas.
Great tree Rophfi!!! Great tree Charla! Love the Santa's.
I can only image Tommy. I know everyone that has a kitty goes through the same thing. Actually I received a text from Vicky this morning. Their cat took down their tree.
Great pic Deb!!! Love the decorated yacht! Thanks for sharing!
Sorry about your dad Cobus. I lost my dad earlier this year so it will be the first year for me. I also lost my son in 2008 which was a really bad year and Christmas but I have come to realize they would not want me to be sad so I try to move on and enjoy what I have and appreciate the time I did have with them. My motto has always been "it could always be worse" Hope things look up for you.
Well over the years I seem to have developed a theme - SANTA'S.
Seems one I get fixated on something and that is it -- a dragon tree?? Hmmmm 😱. Hey I didn't realize even my wrapping is Santa!

My theme tree is black bears, but usually only use them when putting up the big tree. Maybe next year. [/quot
Would love to see that Pixie!!!

I'll see what I can do to find an old pic, but it may be Valentine's Day before I have time, lol. Second wave of family arriving today and now the really busy time starts.

My sympathies to both of you, Cobus & GT. the loss of family always tinges this time of year with a litte ( or a lot) of sadness. I try to remember what they especially liked about the season and focus on that. That way they seem to still be here in some way.
Cobus, do you not have any family or friends you could get together with & have some fun & laughter to ease some of your sorrow? Or maybe there is someone who needs some cheering up & you could help him/her. From some of your other posts, you seem to be someone who likes to help & cares about others. If nothing else, remember there are people here wishing you well.
We have "roadside Christmas trees" in my city. The trees along one of the highways are decorated. I think random people just go out and put ornaments on them. It's really fun to drive down the highway and look at them. There are dozens! But I didn't want to pull over to the side too often... it's not the busiest of highways, but there are still a lot of cars.
