Actually, looking at how far I'll get with the event, I don't think it will make any difference whether I get them or not. I have just got the 2 dragons, and will not be able to get enough candies for the spooky theme.
So no point in reporting it to BFS.
Technically that's a few gems you missed out on. (you'd have 25 more candies turned into probably 5 gems in the end) And if u factor in the fact that BFS often overcompresates your loss, it might be worth a quick email. They'll probably replenish your 25 candy and give you 20 bonus gems "for the trouble" I bet.
<green cardie> Um No. From the in game help:
When Whitbee's Candy Bash is complete, any unspent Candies will automatically go towards rewards. If you have any Candies remaining, you will get some treats for each Candy you have left over
So she will get food. Not gems </green cardie>

Probably done wiht the event. Couldn't collect much candy this weekend, but I got the second nosferatu. DOn't really feel like working towards the theme.

Oh. My bad. Like I've said before, I'm really not passionate about this event, after having been through 3 eerily simililar ones. So if I mess up on little rules like that, it's not beyond me.

we are expecting, from the verbiage, that the end of event will be changing candies into "treats" (ie dragon food) NOT Gems.

Agreed. Not interested in the spooky theme so I haven't been worrying much once I realized I'd get both dragons. Except for curiousity sake I'm still tracking
In my baby park I have now gotten 42 candies from collecting from habitats two days in a row!

I thought the info says we get treats for any candies left over. That's why I'm not bothered with spending gems trying for the spooky theme.
Edit: haha, just read the rest of the posts after BigZ, everyone got there before me!
I'm also a bit 'meh' about this event. I'd rather watch live webcams of volcanoes erupting.

Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...

Funny you should mention volcanoes, because the volcano here (Kilauea) may cause many people to loose their homes any day now.

I've previously enjoyed live webcam feeds of deepsea submarine exploration. Worth a google search And it's fitting, using Abyss for breedings these days...
One thing that I found useful during this event was the introduction of new dragons like the Ragnarok and Nightmare. Since I only mostly use gems for speeding breeds up (and buying habitat upgrades), I've had less trouble forking out the gems to get candies.
If I recall correctly, one of the previous events didn't have many new dragons available during that period, so I was merely spending gems on breeds like Plant + Dark for DC.
It's a minor point, but I think it's something BFS can factor in for future events (like it or not, there's no doubt we'll get more events like this).
GCID: rionhow Thanks to ElektronX for my Light Rift avatar!

"like it or not"? I vote NOT. I really hope we only get a 5th event like this. They could do events in patterns of 5, right? I can't take too many more. Wishful thinking is that only the next event will mirror this event, but be a more light-themed event. Instead of including a dark habitat reward, it would be a light habitat reward. Idk. Overall concept based around snow? Valentines? Collecting snowflakes or hearts is kinda silly, but I feel like we are gonna reach that point. I'm just saying is that if the next event is similar, I really hope that the one after is different. I think that's a possibilty...
Anyway, in response to the general topic of your post, yes I agree the limiteds did help the event. I didn't have all the dragons last time; I think I was trying for oly's or something during the last event that didn't introduce new limiteds... but it does still feel better to blow tons of gems on limiteds instead of tons of gems on permanent epics.
If one gem trades in for about 100000 food as per the treasure purchase screen then most folk falling just short of the theme should expect about 25 million food based on the five to one gem trade in from the last event. Have I got my Maths about right here do you reckon?

I've been engrossed watching the Icelandic fissure eruption which has been going on for 2 months now. This is in the uninhabited central highlands, and apart from some gas pollution is not really affecting anyone.
I have also been watching the Kilauea flow. I feel quite sick thinking about people's lives and homes and land being threatened.

If that is anywhere close, I will butter my hat and eat it.
That's 15 billion DC worth of treats, which is insane even for a level 60 park. Keep in mind that low-level parks are participating as well. Unless they level-scale it, my guess is that the treats payout will be rather paltry for us end-game folks.

I think they are really referring to treats as gifts and I expect a gem payout as in previous events, but who really knows besides the BFS wizards.
Don't think so. Someone posted a response from BFS clarifying they meant treats as in dragon food. I though the same thing as what you posted when I first read it.
Just wondering--what do you all think of "you've maxed out on candies from farming/collecting/hatching today!" notifications? That would get rid of the hassle of tracking (even though I love lemmyloop 's spreadsheets !)

That's a great idea! They could even take it further and have a currency counter that tells you how much you've collected from each source for the day. One can dream...

Yeah, I highly doubt BFS would be that generous (or maybe they could surprise us? *crossing fingers*) However, I do think the maxed out notifications could be a possibility, since it's similar to the "you've reached level so-and-so" notifications.

I finally got my first Nosferatu! Been away a lot and am again for next two weekends so was concerned I wouldn't get both dragons. I'm not bothered about the themes so should be OK now...
Ugh - Instead of Sarjin Peppers, I accidentally planted 6 Dragon Fruit. Great, that leaves me 5 farms to grind my candies from farming...
