Uh oh...did you also try a hard restart of your device? I don't own the twilight tower, and I definitely have a night or twilight sky with stars and comets... if you are Game Center you can also try logging out of Game Center, uninstalling game, hard restart your device, sign back into Game Center, reinstall game. I think it is important that things happen in that order. If you can't figure out how to sign out of Game Center, you can also do it from your settings menu on your device. Hope that helps!

A few events ago, someone mentioned that you can buy a giant habitat and sell it again. It costs you 25 gems to buy it and you get 10 gems back for selling it, so the net is only 15 gems for 25 event currency. If you buy and sell 2, you get 40 event currency (50 on double days) for 30 gems. This works well for the person who doesn't have many gems. The disadvantage is you get nothing but event currency (Star Dust in this case) for your gems. If you spend your gems on speed-ups or giant habitats that you keep, you get more for each gem. I don't have time to grind, and like you I don't need to speed up breedings, so I am using the habitat trick at the moment. I am buying and selling one/day, just to make sure I get over the minimum I need each day to get all the rewards.
Edit: You do have to have a habitat slot available. I had to put a couple of dragons in the hibernation cave and stow a habitat to be able to use the trick. Another option is to buy another extra habitat slot, but those cost gems, and at the moment I didn't need another.

I had great hopes for the logging out of game center move, as I had already tried simple deleting and reinstalling, and deleting, hard restart, reinstalling, but even adding the logout/login in the recommended order did nothing to my sunny blue skies. I guess a message to BFS is in order. I hope they aren't too overloaded right now...

Well, you get Star Dust. That's all the justification I need. I'd rather spend some gems unnecessarily before I risk falling short of the last prize.

I would have thought since its the weekend the double star dust would start. I've been looking forward to it. Before I even went on Dragonvale I had my coffee took the pups out played tug a war with the hyper one till she got tired. Still I'm no where near getting habitat. Any advise on whether or not upgrading breeding habitat is better or if selling doubles is better chance at collecting more star dust?

This is similar to what my S3 was doing during the Iceberry event. I ended up totally losing my link to my fb friends which was a snowballing negative impact that is still not resolved to my satisfaction. My Samsung tablet was unaffected. Now that wonky things are happening in this event I am thinking about playing both parks on my Tab. The drawback is, yep, logging in and out of fb each time. I think it might be a fb security glitch as opposed to bfs.
I'm okay with a normal weekend... since I already collected a majority of my stars!
How much money did you spend, if you don't mind my asking? I typically spend $25(US) per event but I might have to stop if we're going to have monthly events going forward.
For events, I have spend a grand total of... $0.99
During the magic event there was a really sweet deal on magic where you automatically got an egg, so I bought that. For the rest of the events... well I bit the bullet and don't always complete them. The Magic Egg Hunt, Firefly Festival, and Season of Goodies were incomplete. I pick and choose which prizes I think are worth it to spend a large amount of gems to reach. For the Epic Egg Hunt, I really wanted the relic, so I spent a bunch of gems. For the Star Fall event... I can live without the weather station so I'll take my sweet time and save my gems. Most events can be completed without buying magic/eggs/stars if you have enough gems.
Then during Bring 'em Back, they offer old prizes. By the end of the year I usually have a nice stockpile of gems, and I can dole them out to get things I want. I missed the Lost Island because I didn't spend money on the event, but bought it during Bring 'em Back.
Man, I really like Noel DePlante. Heehee. Might be a bit envious of his wizard robes! Those constellation sleeves are totally awesome.
A while back, during the valentine's event, we had a discussion about the diversity (or lack thereof) in DV. With Eloni from the last event and Noel in this one, it looks like BFS is starting to try and fix this problem!

Very true. I'm hoping BFS will continue its efforts not only in future projects/events, but also by going back and making tweaks to the current DV set up. They've done it in the past! A while back they did a marvelous art upgrade for Habitats and Shrines, so I don't see why they can't refress the coli art. Same with the walking visitors!

I'm p close to having everything, just need that dang purple Monolith... but when I spend gems it's really arbitrary. I know a people like the idea of buying a giant hab for 25 gems, and then selling it to get some gems back. I prefer to spend i on blockages in the nursery. Nothing like dropping 40 gems to move a RB out of the way. I'll also use it on quests, if I get a 24 hour and I haven't gotten all the star dust/eggs/whathaveyou for that day.

I have only one player that I'm giving gems to right now so there are five spots available. I've been playing steadily for almost three years now and rarely misses to send a gem each day. It was actually my kids who hooked me up with DV in the first place but they have stopped playing long ago. They moved on to newer and more intriguing game-paths.... :-)
I have a question about Game Center. Maybe someone have experienced the same problem as I. The thing is; the scoreboard (or what one should call it?)för Dragonvale sometimes does not change even though I play a lot and make a lot of transactions (levelling up dragons, bying treats, Islands etc.) and it can be stuck on the same amount for up to two or three weeks. Then, all of a sudden, it's working again and the score increases slowly but surely. I am presently (according to Game Center) around place 42000 on the all-time-high-list and around place 4000 on the list for the users the last day or so. My score is about 106 billion.
Does anyone know how the Game Center scoring of DV works? Have you yourselves stumbled upon this problem/issue?

Yes, your question is making perfectly sense. I have that same problem. Normally I'm a gem horder but during events I do spend them to be sure to get the final reward. To not lose to much gems for "nothing" I do the habitat trick. Then I sometimes spend gems on the questing : when I collect my quest SDs in the morning I always start another quest immediately after. If it has more than 2 hours, I leave it till the next day, if not, I spend those two gems and give it another try. During the egg event I tried for Ovalith, so there was something to spend the gems on, and I also completed my pedestal collection (for the second time). But now there's nothing that would make sense. Yesterday I sped up some food to fulfill my 40 gems/day. Yes, I do spend all 40 possible gems each day until I know that I can get the prize that I want for sure. I know that that deminishes my gem stack more than necessary, but what if there will be problems with my internet connection (I've had that often enough) so that I could not collect at all ? And besides : what else should I use my gems for ? I have over 2300 at the moment and try to keep a reserve of 2000. The only thing that I could buy for gems now is the last extra habitat and island themes. I was working to get to 2450 gems to buy the habitat with a rest of 2000 gems, then came the egg event and now the stardust event. If this will continue, I will never get my last extra habitat. I hope that we will get another new dragon besides the Midnight dragon soon.

I currently still have more Monoliths to breed, but when I don't have anything new to breed for, I still spend the gems anyway. There is no way I would be able to get all the prizes without spending gems, so I look at it as an investment in getting all the prizes without having to spend money.
Maybe it's my old eyes but I was really having trouble finding the stardust even in path edit mode. My islands are very full. So I just started methodically tapping across each island on each location that looked like a hiding place and within a few minutes found all of the stars.
I hate to be so negative but I might be more enthusiastic if I weren't still waiting for a resolution to all of my Iceberry problems.
Today I found the blue star and the gold star in the same exact spot. You could see glow/bits and pieces of each and you had to tap there twice to get both.

I'm not spending 40 daily gems right now as I only have 120 or so. I'm trying to save 240 to spend on the 6 anticipated doubles days for double dust impact. In past events, it was cheaper to buy the actual event currency (fireflies, eggs, etc) during the sale weekend than to buy gems to exchange 1:1 for the event currency. Also, for me it was never clear what the shortfall if any would be because my gifted currency fluctuates from day to day. I would imagine the 5v10 for gifts will result in a shortfall for practically everyone averaging less than 12 gifts a day. And I have no remaining obstacles to clear. I keep a daily tally of the net shortfall or overage assuming I'm supposed to find 280/day plus 50 bonus. I'll do some predictions and math during the first sale to see how painful it will be to try to get to 9000 dust.

I can assure you this is not true. I've got 3 parks I pop in and out of and the stars are not in the same spot in any two of them.

Yeah, I am guessing BFS will code it so that the Stars randomly generate in any areas where paths can go or are currently. So the placement of stars in your park could be impossible in mine because a habitat is blocking the star.

Has anyone else noticed that since the update that Island 12 (the newest island far right in your park) has moved up so that it obscures the lower right edge of Island 7? They were close before but not touching like they are now. What's up with that? Maybe that comet in the sky is coming to bring us something new.
It's actually Island 7 that has moved. :-)
If only they'do give me enough time between these events to earn enough to buy the newset Island! Ho hum.....
