Got hosed on last two events. So sucking it up and wondering about buying the gem tree and seeing if I can gift/get more gems. How many people do you have to hook up with to make this worth while?
Im in trouble. Just got 35 hours in the cave and 30 hours (diamond dragon! Yay!) in the island. So i dont think i can get my 40 from eggs for 2 days. Does buying a primary dragon egg work?
Just breed two plant dragons over and over until you reach the total of 40 stars. Each breed takes 30 seconds and so does the incubation. Takes a few minutes but is easy and does not cost much at all.
I think the advice is to BUY the plant dragons to get to the quota.
Maybe I was just oblivious before and they've always done it, but I just noticed since the event started that the themed islands have effects! The Lightning island has lightning flashes at the base, the water island has little sparkles appearing and disappearing in the pools, etc. Anybody else notice that?
They've always had effects, but perhaps they've changed them? My fav is a little green lizard that crawls around the Earth theme. :-)

Before sending BFS my 15th email for the day, I tried to load my game. Lo and behold it opened. YAY! I am back in business and on my way to Starfall glory. I am so hap,hap,happy! My fire dragon is in his habitat and the colosseum seems to be working. Will know for sure in 24 hours. Gemmed my friends. All is good in Dragonvale once again.
In case your wondering, BFS did not front me any stardust beyond the 50 for starting. But that's okay. I got my game back and that is all that matters to me.

I'd try buying a plant and see what it nets you, then decide if you want to buy 20 of them to get your 40 points. Yay for some epics, but whoa on the timing!! Kairos firing up for you any time soon?
I changed my park skybox to day and the music changed. If you change it to Halloween you get the Halloween music. I play my game with sound off. The only reason I discovered this is because at work today I played music and had my sound up. I haven't read any post about the music correlating with the skybox theme. Another reason to get the twilight tower if yo can.
Why, oh why haven't I learned to check this forum before opening my game & doing all the daily chores??? I completely forgot today might start a double weekend & have been merrily collecting all the stars I can before I start the rest of my day. Habits are hard to break & new habits hard to start.

I've forgotten too. Now I move my DV icon to a hard-to-reach area on my iPad on Thursday nights during events now, hoping that the additional visual cue will remind me not to play on Friday morning in case we end up with doubles.

Yes, I bought plant dragon eggs over & over to get enough one day last event. They are 2 points each, but worth it when we have those bottleneck days!

Maybe it's my old eyes but I was really having trouble finding the stardust even in path edit mode. My islands are very full. So I just started methodically tapping across each island on each location that looked like a hiding place and within a few minutes found all of the stars.
I hate to be so negative but I might be more enthusiastic if I weren't still waiting for a resolution to all of my Iceberry problems.

Loss: 50 DC If you BREED two plant dragons (level 4 is enough) it does not cost you anything and when selling you earn 50DC. Takes 30 secs to breed, 30 secs to hatch and you get two stars. Using the "retry" button makes it quite easy.

A while back, during the valentine's event, we had a discussion about the diversity (or lack thereof) in DV. With Eloni from the last event and Noel in this one, it looks like BFS is starting to try and fix this problem!

The other option for hero is to use the 40 gems a day to buy out one of the breeding locations he can buy out the site just before reset, then the nursery just after reset and move one of the blockers through quite quickly for a bonus ~60 SD.

Ugh it seems like half my gifting buddies have stopped playing once this event started :/
I have gem friends that stopped playing after the iceberry event. It makes a difference! I was able to add one new friend over on the android gem thread but still need more.
I do love the look of this event. The dragons that almost glow in the dark, the meteors, the starry night sky and the lamps that light up. I've even noticed that they turn on as you come onto an island for the first time upon entering. That being said, I am not loving the event. I was burned out after 3 weeks with the last one, and we only got 1 full day of rest. Also, this one seems like it will be more difficult with only getting 5 Star Dust/gift received. I'm also a little bummed that they didn't put the Lost Island on sale last event, like the Twilight Tower this event. Oh well, onward and upward to the finish line. Wishing everyone success in the journey.
Is anyone else experiencing a lot of glitches? On my 4s phone it keeps asking me which park I want to use, game center or local. My son's older ipad will just all of a sudden take you back to the desktop, so you have to reload. He's also getting kicked out some when trying to visit. On my park, friend requests don't seem to be going through. During the last event I sent someone 4 friend requests, she never got any of them. Then she tried sending me one, I never got it either. The glitches definitely detract from the enjoyment of the game.
Has anyone else noticed that since the update that Island 12 (the newest island far right in your park) has moved up so that it obscures the lower right edge of Island 7? They were close before but not touching like they are now. What's up with that? Maybe that comet in the sky is coming to bring us something new.

I think they're low pointers. I know for instance that Plant or even a hybrid like Lava or Tree brings 2 points. I don't know the whole scale, though.
That said, welcome, bananbiffen, and redrock, even though this may be OT -- did you know there really IS a moon that looks like an abandoned Death Star? (Could it be...)

I just got back home after being away from wifi, missing the end of the egg event and beginning of this one. I have the event island and have been collecting stardust, but I have a daytime sky, no comets... is this because I don't own the twilight tower? The sky changed for me in other events, just not this one. I deleted the app and reinstalled, but still no night sky...
