Coolest event so far. But another event. BFS gettin greedy up there!
I agree with the first part but respectfully disagee with the second. I think they're just trying to keep people engaged. It does stir things up to have special events, especially cool ones like this one. Have you noticed the activity level here at the forum? Almost 1,000 unique visitors in the past 24 hours, quite an increase over the routine traffic.
My attention span is admittedly shorter than most humans, but I actually started feeling twinges if boredom in the couple of days after the last event ended. Ho hum, robotic collection of dragon cash, saving of gems. Even an event is not enough to keep me busy. During the last one I built my egg collection from 79 to one short of complete (stinkin' Jet!).
Have fun. Take what you want, leave the rest. You don't *have* to participate in events (unless of course you're a hopelessly addicted DV junkie like me).
Cheers, Poppy

Oh man, my gem stock has been running low from the last event and I don't have any obstacles to clear either. Hopefully I can squeeze by and get the final prize for this event, since I've been really busy with a lot of IRL things and played the last event pretty casually. I absolutely love shooting stars and other celestial things alike
Ever since the last event update, DV often just shuts down when trying to give or receive gifts. I haven't seen any posts about this issue. Am I unique?
Finding the stardust was so much easier than finding the stuff in other events. I guess since I don't have much glowing decorations, the glowing of the stardust stands out. Nice!

FYI to all my regular gem amd treats pals--i will make a concerted effort to contine to send you all return gems and treats as always but I am completely fed up with BFS.
I started playing Dragonvale to relax. It was almost mindless but just enough challenge to keep me coming back. I am DONE with these @$^ events. I desperately miss the pre 2.0 dragonvale and no longer find this enjoyable.
I will check in to keep in touch with all the wonderful people I have met here but count me out on this event. I've even depleted my gems with the last event.
Love and hugs ~ leslei

I'm torn. I want to add lanterns all around my park because the glow coming from them is just magical - for me, at least. But doing so might make it harder to find the fallen Stardusts. Hmmm...

Am I correct in this calculation regarding daily star dust requirements?
Total prize redemption = 9000 Minus tutorial dust = 8950 Days of event = 26 Potential double days = 6 Total days (potential) = 32.
8950\32 = 280 required stars per day (560 on doubles).
I'm concerned, as I am currently on 205 without gifts yet. I have minimal gems and obstacles. It appears that the final reward may be out of reach.
+1 i havent got the first reward yet, but i must be 5-15 dust away. However, i havent got dust from the collesium as it ends after it resets. :/ i have spent about 16 gems today, and only 106 left. If i buy the gem tree on a double, and get more gem friends soon, i MIGHT be able to get everything.
Uh oh, it's Thursday. I wonder if there's any doubles this weekend cause I already collected a bunch from habitats. Whoops.
Doubles usually start on the 2nd day of the event, so hold of from collecting for another 9 hours or so.
The egg hunt was the only event that had doubles the weekend after the event began. The other events usually had a week between the start and the first doubles weekend. Since that was the last event I'm wondering if they will keep this new pattern or return to the old ways.

I completely agree with everything you say. Except that these events are special anymore. These events are cool! But when we are starting to have the, non-stop I don't think they are in anyway special anymore. It is nice to see these forums filled during events like these, but like Greg, I am starting to hope they change it up, do something TRULY special. Events in my opinion should occur 3 or 4 times a year. Not all the time.
I feel that the gameplay has changed. Dv was a simple game with simple goals. Breed dragons, collect dragons and decorate lots of islands. Now we have to collect specific targets and I feel that the game at the same time is becoming more stressful. And as much as I would love to ignore these events, they always introduce new dragons, which of course I need if I want to get 2 of every dragon, my primary goal. And, as shown by last event, I am not sticking with just one dragon and using epic breeding rules... Oh no, after last time, where I only got my mono 2 due to buffys lifesaving skills, I'm gonna have to do this event properly. Oh well...
I understand that lots of people are enjoying these events, but I have noticed that as they occur more and more frequently, more people are starting t get tired of them. I am happy for you that you do really enjoy these events, but I wish BFS would stop piling them on crazily. And from what I've heard from a lot of people, they're gonna have to buy stardust to get the weather changing thing. And after so many events which were micro-transaction free, that's quite a greedy thing to do in my opinion. Each to their own I guess.

No longer active on DragonVale! *briefly back online*
It's been worked out (by me but also by others on the forum) that given two double weekends (safe assumption), you need 280 thingies (560 on doubles) to get full rewards without spending. It's a little more difficult if gifts only give 5. I've worked out a few schemes to get there:
Basic (requires good friends): full 40 from DC, treats, hatching, max from party hats (10), colosseum (25), quests (20), fallen stars (30), 50 from friends and 25 from gem spend.
I still have obstacles: as above, but 10 from obstacles so either spend less gems or have less friends
Friends, what friends?: if you get only 15 from gifts, even with 10 from obstacles and 40 from gems, you will need to shell out extra. Every extra friend counts: regular friends + the Dragonsai tree = 30/day = 10 from obstacles + 35 from gems
I have amazing friends: depending how many friends keep gifting you, spend less gems (15 friends per day = no gems needed) or relax on the treat grinding
And my personal strategy: basic as above, but spend some more gems on speeding up and during dukes weekends to take the pressure off getting 40 from treats.
As you can see, all require some dedication, a reliable bunch of friends, and likely a good stockpile of gems. Hopefully this helps someone, and if they set gifts to be 10 each (here's hoping!), the numbers will obviously shift a bit.

Currently breeding for whatever twins I can possibly get my hands on
I was looking though the Dragonale fb and saw that someone posted a post on their wall asking for the gift star value to be raised from 5 to 10 and they responded:
DragonVale Hi Michelle, thanks for sharing your feedback! We're always trying to find the perfect pace when developing an event.

Wow, I don't think they could have given a more indirect answer.

I like the meteors flashing, but not so close together. I find it a tad distracting.
The streaking meteors are really distracting I really wish they were just in the background. They started to give me a headache when I was farming. I thought that they would stop when zoomed in, but nope :/ I also changed the background in hopes that they wouldn't appear on the other themes, but they still do. It was neat to see the shooting star on the upper right hand corner still show up on all the backgrounds though.
So ... Twilight Tower to change the BG, Weather Station to be in charge of the animated stuff like this Meteor Shower?

In mid-event?
They didn't double gifted epic eggs for the final double weekend of the last event so anything's possible. Players know BFS is aware of it at least whether it was intentional or a glitch like Greg said.

Or a more unoriginal one lol. They used that response quite a few times.
