And I found a sparkly star thing on a path (similar to the golden egg from the Easter event). It was purple in color. I tapped on it and got 10 dust, no gem.
Huzzah, I found a second one (gold, this time). T'was worth 10 dust again, no gem.
And a 3rd (white). Worth 10 dust, no gem.
Upon finding the third star thingie, my Visitors' Icon ceased changed to no longer having star dust on it.
I do love the Twilight Tower; it's probably my favorite of the rewards we've earned even now, so many events in. Perhaps tied with the Dragonsai Bush...more gems to hand out is a plus. But I would have really regretted not paying out to get the Tower at the time. If you *have* the gems or can pull them together while this event goes on, AND you've wished you had it all this time, go for it.
I like the colors for this event, but I'm not fond of the constant meteors flashing through. They play heck with my ADHD. And none of the Tower themes eliminates those. LOL
+ 1
I like the meteors flashing, but not so close together. I find it a tad distracting.
The streaking meteors are really distracting I really wish they were just in the background. They started to give me a headache when I was farming. I thought that they would stop when zoomed in, but nope :/ I also changed the background in hopes that they wouldn't appear on the other themes, but they still do. It was neat to see the shooting star on the upper right hand corner still show up on all the backgrounds though.

If you're going to be in your park for a while, they're a little less distracting against the brighter daytime themes.

The meteors don't bother me at all. I find it quite cozy, with the nighttime, the meteors, the glowing decorations and habitats. I feel at peace. Visually speaking, it's one of the best events so far. I'm still unable to grasp what they were trying to say by a feature whish will stick after the end of the event. Any thoughts? It would be cool if the number of pockets of star dust would increase with time, as if the shower were getting more intense. So far my collecting is not going well. No gifts so far, but it was my own fault, since I sent mine last night, which caused people to sent theirs back before the event. I had a 2hr quest before the event started, so I decided to start another one. To my dismay, I got 24h. So no star dust from quests today. And I have nothing left to clear. But I am sure tomorrow will be better. I'm confident and really happy with the event.

ETA: Those rascals at BFS may spring a doubles weekend on us starting tomorrow... just something to consider! Also, the event ends May 4th... Star Wars puns anyone?
Surprisingly (from me), not a pun, just an observation: Lyrid meteor shower peaks on April 23, which is a Thursday. There being no special "weekend" in sight that I know off, just warning you, don't get caught off-guard!

Was tring to work out the significance of this event. Thanks for pointing it out.
Since the tower is back, would it be the equivalent of the firefly event? Based on a completely unrelated RL event, of course.

Based on reports in this thread, it appears that some of the numbers in the beginning posts might be wrong. Could we get those updated for easy reference? For example, there is no gem for any of the star dust, it appears gifts only give 5 "tokens" instead of 10.
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

Thanks for this, I used the egg one a lot and it was a life saver.
Is it just me, or is almost impossible to get the last reward without buying stars? Assuming two double weekends, the spreadsheet says I need to spend 63 gems a day. If I tweak it so I get 45 from gifts (30 from regular gem gifts, 15 from treat gifts), it still suggests I spend 38 a day. If the max is 60, you still need to spend 14 a day and 40 on double weekend days. This is also assuming we get two double weekends.
Rough numbers, but might be cheaper to wait until BEB and buy the last reward for straight out gems....
Man, I really like Noel DePlante. Heehee. Might be a bit envious of his wizard robes! Those constellation sleeves are totally awesome.
A while back, during the valentine's event, we had a discussion about the diversity (or lack thereof) in DV. With Eloni from the last event and Noel in this one, it looks like BFS is starting to try and fix this problem!
I really like him too ! I wish BFS found a way to keep these new characters around. They put so much work into them and they're only around for a month.

That's the theme I ended up using while in my park

BFS have demonstrated their love of astronomy time and time again. Solstice, eclipse, Equinox...
The Lyrid meteor shower peaks on 23 April. Then there's the Perseids and the Leonids and the ...

Not sure how you work that out. Apart from one, none of the events have forced you to spend real money to get all the rewards. Last one I managed to get everything even though I wasn't really trying. Except the last couple of days when I realised it might be possible.
But I am definitely over the Event model. I sincerely hope that approaching star will deliver a different type of game play.

I am worse at finding stars than I was at finding eggs. I wouldn't have thought that to be possible. The usual tricks don't seem to help. I suck at events.

I've sent GC friend requests to a couple of people in the thread as I, too, could use a couple more friends to maximize event gifts. I play daily, have treats that I try to spread out amongst my friends.
Was reading that someone is at 200ish for today's gem count. I'm currently sitting at 180...and that's with the 50 from the tutorial! Soooo...time to grind the dragon treats and spend some gems to try to get all of those. My Colosseum finishes in a couple of hours, so that'll help me, too.
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all/Gloom, despair, and agony on me... {HeeHaw, 1970s - totally showing my age)
Bizarrely, friends with parks NOT upgraded give you 10 SD. Parks that have upgraded only. Give you 5. If you have a non playing park you use to send gifts you may want to hold off upgrading. At least until BFS fix the glitch.
No one was on the old non star fall park. Pyjamas was upgraded.

Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890
