Before the next event starts in a couple moments, I just wanted to give a quick thank you to cavylove for letting us know that the Android update revealed August 19th as the last day of the Spellform event and to jerkymom for confirming the end date with a pic from the Google Play Store. Since many players didn’t receive a push notification from DV verifying the last day to collect Magic, and there was never even a simple effort made to add this info to BFS’s Secrets of Spellform page or to the event info in-game, we would’ve been left in the dark without their posts.
Concealing the last day of this event served absolutely no purpose for the player, didn’t add to the event or storyline, and only caused messy, unnecessary confusion. It was a whopping mistake.
But on to the next event...
Aww, thanks for the shout out, adlerist! I hope that it helped a few people plan for the end! I was one of those that closed the notification before I actually read it, thinking it was just another uneventful thing. Ha. Thankfully, I managed all new dragons and costume pieces. Also managed to get some habitats with my 'spare' magic because I've been lazy and don't have enough to house my dragons...oops.
I did manage to breed a second Rigel in the rift using Antarian + Comet (which I think was a combo I got three of the limited dragons with). I really should have egged it though
Buying spellform chests and loading them into the altar was vaguely reminiscent of buying and selling plant dragons to get event currency.
So was the secret of this event the end date or the fact that the ability to spend your magic ends half an hour before reset? Thank you so much for pointing this out. I have not been prompt in spending my magic and might have missed it if it wasn’t for this group.

Well, this is disappointing.
I thought I could use a wish to get Bastion after the event ended. But apparently I'm not allowed to wish for it because I don't have all the spellform pieces. I thought the power of wishing was enough to get any dragon you want, but I guess I was wrong.

I thought I could use a wish to get Bastion after the event ended. But apparently I'm not allowed to wish for it because I don't have all the spellform pieces. I thought the power of wishing was enough to get any dragon you want, but I guess I was wrong.
That is a bummer. I thought you could wish for the evolution dragons without having the pieces.
I will blue heart Bastion so you can keep trying for it.

I had a very nice surprise today. I was disappointed that I could not breed the Sparkles dragon. I have all the others, but when I checked in today I got a Sparkles dragons just for checking in. Woot👏🎉🎉 I also want to thank our Moderators for taking the time to research things for us and answer any questions we may have.

Popped in with ~35m left to go in the event to finish burning through event currency (managed to get the last bits I needed to buy Riptide, then bought a few more chests to get all the pieces because why not at that point)... and see I have more like 5m. I start frantically buying spares of some of the cooler costumes but realize I'm not going to make it in time... and then I find I can still buy/sell pieces with the timer at 0:00. I'll take it, I guess? :-P

Remind me to not wait until the last minute to spend my event currency. I got lucky this morning when before reset my power went out. Came back on after 10 minutes for just a bit in which I was able to frantically spend the last of my currency. One dragon and four costume pieces later the power went out for two hours coming back on well after reset. That was close!
Let me know when the event dragons are available in the Mystery Eggs so I can BUY all the dragons and pedestals I could not breed in this dragon BREEDING game.
As regretful as it is to have nearly overlapping events, I have to admit this looks pretty spectacular.

I do not know if a complete costume is required to receive a Spellform dragon from the mystery eggs (like the Wishing Well). I have all the Spellform dragons and their getups, so I can’t tell from my game, but I’d be very interested in knowing if someone obtains a Spellform dragon from a Rift store or Daily Rewards mystery egg with no complete outfits.
If it’s not possible, the Spellform dragons will be the first that are blocked from the mystery eggs and wishes until the player has fulfilled a requirement.

My guess is that it's a bug that you can't use a wish on these dragons without having the spellforms. Just email Backflip and confirm if it impacts you.

They gave me Corrupticorn for a wish without the trimmings. If this is a new policy, too bad. I've had it up to here with the Barbie accessories. I'll still be logging in to give gifts, but that's about all I'm doing while I seriously mull giving up my addiction.

I thought I had come to a decision that I would do with Dragonvale what I do with another game I play that refuses to give you enough time to catch your breath between events by simply not participating in every event. However, I am distracted by shiny objects and these glow in the dark dragons may be just too much to resist.
Inspired by adlerist's luck with the mystery eggs, I purchased some but no koalas for me, just repeats of dragons I have every combination of already. I need to stock up on E and keep trying I guess. I am more likely to get twins that way than cloning. I rarely get any twin I need that way.

Which type of mystery egg did you purchase?
I'm not adlerlist and I haven't actually gotten a spellform dragon from the egg of mystery but I believe it is blue. You can tell by looking in the dragonarium and seeing what color borders the dragon and match it with the egg of mystery color. Or if you know your dragons, blue is rare, purple is epic and orange/mustard/ whatever color that is gemstone. I think this is the right information, but if it isn't I'm sure one of our knowledgeable moderators or any number of more well informed than I members will correct any errors on my part. I always hesitate to jump in cause I'm never sure I have the right answer, but hey no harm no foul since others will pick up any balls I drop.
