For those keeping track completeness, will the set of golden hybrids be complete with the release of two more? Or would there still be some regular hybrid combos be missing a golden potential offspring? (assuming the new ones don't repeat a combo that already has a golden outcome)

I guess it's good if we get another week of the event, although I am pretty much done, I don't need more candy so I have stopped bothering with the bingo cards (although I do like the easy ones) and am trying for some spooky rift dragons I didn't have (zombie, gargoyle, pharoah...) and I am not very diligent about looking for pumpkins anymore.

I like Om of Nams too, but the one thing I will not miss about this game is feeling guilty about sneaking away from family time during holidays. But remember that spectacular dragonfruit cake recipe celebrating the first one? That's worth a revisit. I just googled "dragonfruit cake" and it looks like there are many of them, but not THAT one, does someone have a link for it?

I have no availability to the upgrade, checking Market>Islands; Wishing Well> Islands; and on the Lost Island, itself.  Don't know of any other ways to check for a possible upgrade, and I'm bummed about having missed the very short window to do so.

Unfortunately, the set of golden hybrids is far from complete.  According to my calculations, there are 26 or 27 more needed to complete the set, so it ain't gonna happen, sadly.  I say 26 or 27 because that depends on whether or not you think Bramble is a Golden Hybrid.  I don't think it is because it doesn't have the proper egg design.  But that's my opinion.  The folks over at the DragonVale Wiki seem to think that it is.

Thank you dragonglow for letting me know you bred twin Macabres with mine. I didn’t receive a push notification or in-game notice of a twin, so I checked my Gifts, and lo and behold, there it was quietly relaxing with two more twin Macabres from Quil and esme ! 🤩





I don’t know when everyone bred these, so I apologise for not saying thank you earlier. Apparently, I need to check my Gifts menu regularly because I’m not receiving every twin notification, which is a known issue with the game, so I should’ve known better. I’ll send thank you gems and treats to all you star Macabre twin breeders. I realise that’s not much compensation for those I already exchange with, so let me know if I can be of assistance in other DV ways. Cheers!

Lots of folks seem to be using Macabre still, so I’ll leave it up in the co-op for now. Many koalas to all!

Popped into the game this morning and discovered that Kiwichris had sent me a twin BARBAROUS dragon, THANK YOU! Then checked my Co-Op where I was trying for one with our favorite Kiwi and found another twin BARBAROUS for the both of us! Hope you wanted a twin pedestal, Chris, when it rains, it pours!

Is the event supposed to be over? I started late (almost two weeks), but I'm still collecting candy and getting the daily gift. All my apps are on auto-update.

For anyone with a crystal ball - or good at guessing - is it expected that the candy collecting will stop after this double weekend and then we will have two days to spend our collected candy?  

We're not anticipating any last minute surprises like the Prismatic Pantheon in the Colour Guard event?  I was hoping that they might have released the Lost Island upgrade properly towards the end of this event.  

I'm trying to decide whether to spend all my candy now or wait another couple of days.

I believe Quil said that Nov.27th was the end date. Just before Thanksgiving.

I expect the event will end on Monday, and we can buy stuff until Wednesday. Who knows with the current state of the game, but I certainly do not expect any new dragons or purchases before the end.

My guess is that they planned out the 4 horsemen, 3 new golden hybrids, and I bet we were supposed to get new ghostly elements and dragons. Everything fell through when the announcement was made and they're likely doing the bare minimum to meet Hasbro obligations before end of year. That's why we have so much left over candy.

I'm not sure I'll even keep logging in beyond sending out gems to friends until I know the future state of the game, and I've already given up connecting to multiple alt accounts to send extra gems to family members. It's a lot of effort for something that may just shut down any day now. I'll hit up the winter event and make sure I have everything, just in case I decide to brave it out and keep playing next year to finish my collections.

There's no way they could make the game work offline without significant development, and they're not going to spend money on something going away and not giving Hasbro any return for that investment. The only hold out hope is that some other development company would buy the game/brand and continue with it, but that seems very unlikely if not impossible at this point. They would have shopped it around before shutting it down. Too bad someone like Jeff Bezos from Amazon isn't a fan of the game, when they cancelled one of his favorite shows on SyFy, he bought it and is bringing it to Amazon Prime. Wish I had that ability available to me.

I feel the same way. I completed the "every last one" mark this event but I don't see myself bending over backwards through 100 crashes a day for blue fire. Assume that appreciative old-timers who actually shell out on the game would be burdened by aging processors, something's seriously wrong with the business model...

An added Spooky mystery egg would be nice and wishful thinking with the new dragons available. I only achieved one rift and it was the golden hybrid Fulgurite. And this was not for lack of trying as they were the only ones available I needed. I tried every day with fail after fail. I think my rift was broken for this event.

I am closing the event with blue fire though thanks to family and friends. 🙏

I am so impressed with you blue fire people. I did manage regular fire, but wasn't too focussed on getting rift versions (or twins) of everything, just collecting what I didn't have and actively breeding for what was needed to breed special dragons, not bothering at all with rift gemstones. I thought I had a long time to get closer to that goal, but it's not gonna happen now...
