I am super addicted to this game. I find myself looking for the silly pumpkins and spending E past my self imposed cap to complete bingo spots. I have over 82000 candy and nothing I need!
Any suggestions on dealing with this addiction? I fear the withdrawal when they pull the plug.
I need help.
Who’s going to take care of the koalas? I feel this is contributing to their extinction.

Wow! When I went in my park today it was bright. Going from the dark that we have been in for almost two months to the bright day. 😎 Don't get me wrong I like the night theme where the lights are lit, touches glow, the moon is out, etc. Just a little shocking.😊 I am glad also to be out of Halloween mode but I guess that puts us a little closer to plug pulling time, not a good thing. 😠😱😫😭😞😖😩

I was just glad to be able to turn colour back on. Those stupid pumpkins coming back throughout the day had me leaving the colours off to find them easier.
I realise I enjoy the game much more with colour (and sound).

Did the latest ios update today (what a dummy!) and lost almost all my dragonvale friends... 😱😰 Did a hard re-start but it did nothing to fix it. The game also said i had already sent my gems & food for the day which i had not done yet.😳🙁
I expect the event will end on Monday, and we can buy stuff until Wednesday. Who knows with the current state of the game, but I certainly do not expect any new dragons or purchases before the end.
My guess is that they planned out the 4 horsemen, 3 new golden hybrids, and I bet we were supposed to get new ghostly elements and dragons. Everything fell through when the announcement was made and they're likely doing the bare minimum to meet Hasbro obligations before end of year. That's why we have so much left over candy.
I'm not sure I'll even keep logging in beyond sending out gems to friends until I know the future state of the game, and I've already given up connecting to multiple alt accounts to send extra gems to family members. It's a lot of effort for something that may just shut down any day now. I'll hit up the winter event and make sure I have everything, just in case I decide to brave it out and keep playing next year to finish my collections.
There's no way they could make the game work offline without significant development, and they're not going to spend money on something going away and not giving Hasbro any return for that investment. The only hold out hope is that some other development company would buy the game/brand and continue with it, but that seems very unlikely if not impossible at this point. They would have shopped it around before shutting it down. Too bad someone like Jeff Bezos from Amazon isn't a fan of the game, when they cancelled one of his favorite shows on SyFy, he bought it and is bringing it to Amazon Prime. Wish I had that ability available to me.
If the Halloween event got messed up b/c Hasbro decided to close BFS during the event why do a Christmas one? Won't that get even more messed up? They'll have to do the entire event with less employees to help out.
Hasbro isn't going to make any money off a Christmas event b/c lots of people know the game is ending so no one will buy stuff & the people who don't know & spend money will be really ticked off if the game ends right after the event. What's the point of breeding the new Christmas dragons if we can't even look at them afterwards b/c the game is gone? Hopefully we get a message saying we have at least a couple months like dragonvale world got. If we do & the message pops up in Feb then we have 6 more months from now to the game's end & maybe that will be enough time to enjoy our new dragons & purchases. But if you're right & dragonvale shuts down "any day now" then I think it's a mistake to do more events.
It's too bad the thanksgiving event didn't start earlier & it'll probably start tomorrow or ON thanksgiving. Most people are going to be really busy then. But im glad it's happening.

Wait, what, it's really happening? I thought it was not on, so I started spending on pricey treats again. Good thing I didn't break the bank on another half-price island, I NEED cheap dragonfood! Although, at this point, I guess it doesn't really matter. Another temporary illusion of fat dragons or virgin real estate that will never be developed... soon, poof! All gone... but they do say, "Make hay while the sun is shining," so let's hope the forage crops are on tomorrow...(or today?)

So,I had ?fun making a ‘sad’ and 😩 with (appropriately) gloominaires..... despite all the glitches and frustrations, when you just cruise your park, it’s sad to think of all that clever beauty just being unplugged... pixels...

I keep thinking there must be some point to this, right? I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but why bother going through all the trouble of giving us more events if they don't have a backup plan in place. Like maybe Hasbro itself will run things once everyone at BFS is gone.
I don't know, I'm just trying to hold out hope I guess. I don't like seeing my forum friends looking so sad. Come on, guys. It's not over till it's over, and we still have a couple months left. 🐨
We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.

I am with you. I am not hearing the fat lady singing yet... or maybe I am just an ostrich ? Happy Thanksgiving!!

. Signed in this morning at reset, and got an alert that Om of Noms had started. No app updates are available and the park is not set up for the event. My Dragonarium has a red exclamation point, but no new dragons. Looking as though the game has zero developers on it. The posts referring to “automatic” events, going forward, don’t seem to be happening. Doom and gloom, I realize, but looks as though we won’t have events anymore. This is an ominous sign...
I think the red exclamation point was just that Om of Noms was a new category maybe? I don't remember it being a separate category before. But. Then. I am old and sometimes clueless soooo, lol.
I also used a wish to buy the upgrade to the Lost Island. I still have one wish, just in case lol.

...And to speak to that point, the ability for newer parks to breed some of the day-time only dragons! Haven't been able to breed any of these buggers and your point hadn't Dawned (haha) on me! But, you're right. One park is too young to have features such as the Twilight Tower as an option so I knew I hadn't toggled a setting like Spooky, Dawn, or Dusk, etc. and I had been tinkering with in another park because I was having a hard time collecting flags and pumpkins. I mentioned earlier in a post that these items weren't nearly as hard to find before returning as a player after sometime. I literally had to move habitats and even smaller decorations that I never would've thought they'd been able to stuff behind. But, even my son logged into my account on an equally frustrating night(?) day(?) to find out if pumpkins just rot away if you don't find them! I thought that was funny and, at least now, that I don't need to spend $300+ visiting an eye doctor as opposed to Looking for Visitors! Oh, and I finally have a Nightbloom in one of my parks. So, thanks for enlightening me

congrats on the Nightbloom, he's a cute one
When searching for hidden pumpkins, eggs or whatever you don't have to move things around, just turn on the path edit mode and most things become transparent. Remember to turn off the path edit mode before clicking on hidden objects, otherwise you only create a path element

Not sure about everyone else but when I went into islands (deal) the Harvest shows that it has expired. So I tested it and was able to buy it even with it showing the expired sign. Just thought I'd put that out.🐨

There’s probably a couple reasons why the Xmas event is a go. Backflip starts planning their events six months in advance. Three months before the event launches the concept and contents are fully expanded for implementation. Backflip was notified of the layoffs in late October, so the Xmas event was in its final phase of development. It was probably seen as a waste of six months toil to not run the event.
You bring up compelling reasons to keep DV operating post-event. I agree, and I don’t think Hasbro intends on making money from the winter event. It appears Backflip is doing this for the players, to give us a proper goodbye, which is endearingly tearful and beautifully poignant. It’s also nice Hasbro allowed this; they could’ve shut it down with no money in sight. Maybe in the end it’s not all bah humbug. Leave it to DragonVale to deliver the Xmas spirit.

Logged in late today, and what a nice surprise! Fiery figs! and the chance to get some of the Om of Nom dragons in the rift. So is it possible to get the evolved dragons (Vidalia, Karroot, Bogberry, Curlyleaf) by breeding like and like or parent-cloning (only one like parent), or are they evolve-only?

Thanks! I spent a wish too. No point in saving them now.

Evolve dragons can be bred if both parents are the target dragon, no cloning. Bogberry isn’t an evolve dragon, but it does have a locked combo (Bog + Berry... naturally); it is clone-able.
