I've finished with the data collection so far but while looking over it I realized something: DECA has been making a lot more limited dragons as of late with 2 or 3 elements on their summary screen and a lot more with semi-closed breeding combos. I'd like to commend them for that, it feels a lot like how the game was in its first few years.
(This isn’t event-related, I didn’t find a better thread to post in.)
My wishlist, if I could wield DragonVale magic…
1. More ornamental habitats. (I have ten homeless ornamental dragons. I like to keep a baby and a grownup version of every dragon, and I like to keep them in the habitat of their first element.)
2. More crystalline habitats. (I have eight homeless crystalline dragons, and they are forever stuck in the hibernation cave since they aren’t allowed in the omnitats, poor little dragons.)
3. An Aura island theme.
4. Finish the collection of the golden hybrids.
5. Make an Ellie friend icon, and icons of the other missing wizards, in the friend icons section
6. Let crackle’s hidden form show in the dragon pop up window in the habitat, like the other hidden dragons. (You can only see it in the dragonarium.)
That’s what’s on my mind this morning anyway 🤗
liza i really like the way your mind works. i especially like numbers 3, 4, & 5!
Because i am sooo very extremely tired of spending time and gems in the rift only to finally get the dragon WITHOUT a rift over and over and over and over again... this is my Wishlist:
1. EQUALIZE by adding 2 more caves in the rift AND allow park dragons to live & breed there AND allow rift dragons to breed in the park as well as to live there. OR 2. Allow rifted dragons to be Wished for or bought! OR... the simple & so obvious method, 3. Remove park results from rift breeding!
Dear Deca - please activate the fire pits on the Olympus habitats now the Olympics have started!
I responded to your post about this on the Deepest Depths thread. 🙂

Dear DECA: 2 things… 1. I see a lot of posts to you about Rift, requesting changes. But please leave it as it is. Getting untraited dragons while trying for traited ones is part of the game. I’m usually happy to get an untraited new dragon there so I can move it to the regular park and feed it there. Don’t change anything about Rift to make it easier! 2. I play on my iPhone as many players do. To save battery resources, can you add an option to pause the animation on all dragons? I don’t want to ground them forever, just when I need to do some major decorating or when my battery is low.
Thanks for all you do and for keeping the game going!

The reason why you're seeing a lot of requests to remove or reduce the chances of untraited dragons bred in the Rift is because more and more players are advancing in the game. They're now collecting traited dragons or see the value of them to help breed new limiteds. The high chance of getting an untraited dragon is preventing players from completing their collections. Please understand that there are a lot of players at different levels who are collecting all the different types of dragons (regular, twin, and traited). If you get to a point where you decide to go for purple fire, you’ll understand. Some players are already there, and they’re voicing their concerns about the near impossibility of obtaining the goal. There are only a handful of players who have achieved purple fire, while red and blue fire are much more common. This indicates that there’s a problem preventing players from reaching the goal, and it’s really frustrating. Removing untraited dragons or drastically lowering the chances of untraited dragons bred at the Rift is a great solution that follows the logic of the game, traited dragons = Rift, untraited dragons = Vale.
Would you consider upgrading the Wish List functionality and filtering options within Breeding Hints?
Players can have different goals, such as Red, Blue or Purple fire. It would be helpfull to have multiple Wish Lists (or a filter option within the one Wish List) for these different goals.
Some examples of how this would be usefull.
E.g. when opening the breeding hints in the Select Dragon menu in the Rift Breeding Cave, I would like to be able to filter for "dragons on my Wish List for which I still need a rifted version or more traits". (But also filter for "dragons on my Wish List I don't have at all, so still usefull to try for whether it ends up being traited or not".)
E.g. when opening the breeding hints in the Select Dragon menu in the Cooperatieve Breeding Cave, I would like te be able to filter for "dragons on my Wish List for which I still need a Twin version".
In addition: being able to filter for "is currently available to breed" within the Breeding Hints menu would be great.
In addition: being able to filter for "contains selected basic element + is an elemental OR rare OR special dragon" within the Breeding Hints menu would be great. (Similarly to how you can select the earth element + the "any type of Epic" button to get dragons like Apex, Avarice, Burglehoo etc as a result. The same goal could be reached with something like "contains this basic element but exclude all elemental and/or epics".)

. Respectfully, I do understand. I’ve played for 10 years and love the game. I am aware that players of all levels are here and thst the focus of playing isn’t the same for all players. I have all the dragons and am only lacking 81 in Rift. Of anyone, you would expect me to be begging to make getting those last few Rift easier… but I’m not. A lot of this game is easy. Let’s leave some parts of it a challenge to complete!

I think the main issue is that it's already a challenge. Some dragons have less than a 1% chance to be bred anyway. No one quite knows exactly the chance for untraited dragons but it's generally assumed to be about 25%. Something like Scarab with a 0.5% chance actually has probably about less than a 0.4% to be bred traited with its combo. That's not fun, for many purple fire people and people who generally rely on the Rift alike.
I think there are two key issues with the argument that the game shouldn't be made easier. 1) There's a difference between a fun challenge and a tedious one (this is more subjective; clearly you consider it a "fun" challenge but others consider it a "tedious" one) and, the main, less subjective one, 2) it is so much easier to make a game that is easier by design difficult, than it is to make a game that is difficult by design easy. Now, regarding #2, taking an easy game and making it more challenging does require some self-restraint - maybe someone could set a personal restriction that the first traited version of every dragon they get, they sell - but it's still possible, and presumably if someone was thatdesperate for an extra challenge they wouldn't mind putting in a little actual work on their end to restrain themselves. I mean, that's why challenge runs of other games even exist (Pokemon Nuzlockes are an example I know of) - people setting personal limits on themselves in games that they would otherwise find tediously easy. Specifically in terms of DV, how things currently are, anyone who wants an easier way out physically cannot make it easier for themselves because the possibility of untraited dragons in the Rift is there and is evidently decently high.
I hope that explains the perspective of purple fire people a little more. I'm not claiming you don't understand at all, as you clearly do, but the whole problem of "people who want easy-by-design games to be more difficult can choose to make them difficult, in a way that people who want difficult-by-design games to be easier simply cannot make those games easy" doesn't seem to get discussed a lot in conversations regarding game difficulty (not just in DV but basically any game I've seen difficulty discussions about), so I wanted to put it out there. If you want the challenge, you can self-implement it, and that possibility wouldn't be removed if untraited dragon possibilities were decreased or removed. It won't always be possible to manually increase difficulty in every case in every game, but certainly would be in this case. As things currently stand, players who want the Rift to be easier simply cannot make it so.
I will try not to add any more to this conversation (unless someone replies to me directly), though, since I've said my piece. (Also I think if anyone continues this it'd probably be better suited for the Rift thread, since this is less Dear-Deca-y and more Rift-y now.)
P.S FWIW I really like your second Dear Deca suggestion, it would help with preventing lag so much!

And in addition: I would love to be able to play on pc/desktop. So much effort goes in to the tiniest details on dragons. Would be nice to see more of them on a bigger screen (and without having to play in low res). Moving stuff with a mouse in stead of dragging on screen will be so helpfull in moving around the pedestals and other tiny bits.
Any chance of making Dragonvale available as an app in Microsoft Store for example?

You can get Dragonvale on PC through Amazon. That's how I did it.
This is my first time playing Dragonvale in a while. I have suggestions on the rift that I would like DECA to consider.
The Rift:
Co-Op Rift Breeding: I would like to see DECA add a brand new Co-Op upgrade to the existing Rift Breeding Cave. It would cost ETH for the initial upgrade and would enable a switch toggle for players to switch between normal and co-op rift breeding. Co-Op rift breeding would cost exactly double the ETH of normal rift breeding, but it would finally allow for Galaxy dragons to be bred in the Rift, and make way for ideas of brand new Co-Op rift exclusives that can only be obtained by Co-Op breeding in the rift. Selecting a rift dragon in the Rift Dimension for Co-op rift breeding would no longer De-Select the Dragon used for Regular Co-Op breeding as these would be completely separate. Obtaining twins in Co-Op rift breeding would be exactly the same system as regular Co-Op breeding and would finally allow Rift Uniques to have Twin Counterparts.
More rift buildings: So we have the Rift Breeding Cave, the Transfiguration Tower, the Hibernation Cave, and the Gate. Besides habitats and clearing Miasmic Ether, not much else is there. Perhaps we could get a rift fountain of youth, or some rift decorations, like a rift walkway and rift portal for visitors to visit the rift to see the rift dragons. Maybe we could get a rift building that could change the lighting of the rift to give it a unique look, similar to the weather station in the Main Park.
Rift Habitat Themes: Having Primary-Element themed rift habitats is neat, but I think it would be even more cool if DECA could create limited-time Epic-Themed rift habitats that would be limited just like Epic Island themes. It would add more variety and let players group together dragons based on the epic-themed Rift-Habitats.
The Expanded Rift area feels completely useless, and that ugly unclear-able line is such an eye-soar. And considering that all 75 rift habitats fit in the original area with room for more in the future, this further emphasizes the need of more variety in the rift. According to the wiki, it looks like this is a technical limitation, though I hope this one day can be bypassed and fixed.
Edit: I would like to add this one into this post.
Since I noticed there is such thing as "Red Fire, Blue Fire, and Purple Fire", whenever you complete a specific category of dragons, you get a gold border for completing that collection.
To add to the progression of getting Twin and Traited dragons, DECA should implement Blue Bordering and Purple Bordering for Completing the Specific Collection with Twins or Traited Dragons Respectively. This way, it would let yourself and your friends know, I achieved blue border for getting all Twin Sun Dragons in the sun category, or I have achieved purple border for getting all Traited Water Dragons in the water category. Rift uniques that cannot be twinned would not be required to get blue border in that specific category. Getting Blue Border is a Prerequisite for Purple Border.
The dragon counter on the top right of the dragon icon is normally Grey for a regular dragon, Blue for a twin dragon, and Gold for Regular and twin, but no special border for having Regular, Twin, and Traited. Maybe they should add a purple background to the dragon counter to Signal that I have regular, twin, and traited of that dragon.

I was indeed thinking about being able to run the game on Windows os without an Android emulator.

Maybe I'm confused, but I didn't have to download any emulator or other app to get it to work. It runs just fine as a normal app on my laptop.
This is because Amazon and Microsoft signed a deal to include it's app store on windows computers by default. You're not downloading an emulator, but it's still using translation layers to be able to run the app, which can impact performance and slow FPS.
Having DragonVale on Steam with native x86 support would be a great way to expose the game to a new audience, but as I was reading DECA's Q&A's on reddit, I am not optimistic they would ever go through with it.
Dear DECA, I should wait until your next dragon or habitat design contest, but I can’t wait to share this idea: WEATHER! We need a habitat that randomly changes weather. Bright and sunny one time, the next it might be rain, snow, fog, hurricane, or anything. Habitat and island can change like Seasonal ones change, but on a less regular schedule. Let it be a surprise. We already have dragons to represent most weather but there would be lots of opportunity to develop some more. This would be a challenge to design and engineer, but it would be so cool! You could start with just a few weather events and add more over time. Thanks to the DECA team for all you do!
I would like to make a suggestion for the Spring/Easter event. I would like color cubes, with flower cubes, using displays like the ones on the different island themes. Making it easier to add some more springtime to the Vale.

Ps. I don't have accounts on reddit or discord.
Hello, Theresa! I can make this request for you. Just so I’m clear, you want colour cubes with flowers on them, like the Marbleheart Cube, except instead of a heart, a flower on it. Is that correct?
