Has anyone reported problems with the Megatat not earning money since being moved in the Expansion Extravaganza? At first I made excuses like "I must have touched it by accident so it collected then when I was moving through my park" and I was using Tsaishen a lot to collect automatically so I didn't notice, but now it has been often enough to seem like my Megatat is not producing income anymore. Anyone else having this problem?
edited to add: this is in my android park, the iOs park works fine.
As mentioned by kaleni#0146, the chest may have moved. I have the Omegatat and the DC chest is no longer in the correct place. It is floating in a cloud to the right.
Here is an image so you can see where it is located now.
]I've had something similar before, but it didn't last as long. I assume you've already tried this but I didn't see it mentioned - reconnecting to WiFi/data, and trying the alternative to what you usually use, might help. If not it sounds like support will need to help.
Been at if for about 2 hours tonight just trying some stuff. Turning my wifi on/off actually the first thing I did this morning, just because of where I was in the house. No luck. So tonight I read the Deca troubleshooting page and tried their method of logging out of Gamecenter and relogging back into it and DV with phone restarts in between. I canned more stuff on my phone.
Interestingly, if I keep the debug screen up, the game bar loads farther - to like… 99% and keeps giving me one liners until it eventually crashes. I have now seen:
‘Self destructing in 3…2…1…’ followed by my game crashing.
I’m trying to remember how the bloody thing loads the first time after download when it isn’t having trouble. After birth date and tos consent… does it go to the park selection screen usually? Or only if DV was set like that already? I feel like that’s normally how it works. My app is just loading directly into my main account, which isn’t even how I have it set up. It’s set for the park selection popup. I also feel like it remains on the resolution one left it on. So it SHOULD be loading in low rez. If it isn’t, that’s probably my issue. This phone can’t handle high rez at. All.
My poor babies must be so hungry! XD Hopefully it’s an easy fix and Deca can get me back up and running quickly. *fingers crossed

Wow,that message sounds weird! 😅 I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting that before.
As for why it's not letting you select a park - settings are reset when you reinstall, so currently it'll be on normal resolution mode with no pop up screen and the default notifications selected.

… not good news. Looks like I’m spending big bucks to buy a new phone. Can’t load the game in high res, so can’t load the game at all. Maybe if it was set to load one of my alts first I’d have stood a chance since they’re smaller? This game really needs setting accessibility pre-park loading. Or for it to automatically start in low res. At least I’m not missing out on much event-wise while I sort this mess…

This (crashing on ads) is getting worse. DECA maintains that they can’t do anything about the ads that are shown to us… that isn’t quite true. DECA could ‘Beta Test’* DV ads by simply playing like we do. When, not if but when, their games crash they would then contact their ad provider and NOT put up these ads. DECA could do a lot more than just waiting for us to report which ads crash. Half of the crashes occur before the ad even starts.
I lost double ‘log in’ benefits today…
I DO like to watch the ads. I get the DV benefits and I’ve even purchased some of the products on these ads.
* A Beta Test is where the company providing the software actually tests the software BEFORE releasing it to its users. Often, the software companies give special benefits to users who also participate in the Beta Test… I don’t want to be a Beta Tester…

This has been reported. The collection icon may not have been checked on both iOS and Android. The icon is not displaying on the Megatat for Android players but is fine on iOS, and the icon is not displaying on the Omegatat for iOS players. Thank you nagini and MinyaZ for reporting this!

I gave Deca all three of the messages you posted on this thread. There has been an increase in the number of players who cannot open DV. This looks to be a memory issue with the game because all these parks are large and from veteran players. It also seems like an iOS issue, which isn’t surprising. Crashing issues have plagued iOS players since the days of Backflip. Unless the game is kept in check and optimisation is regularly performed, crashes are imminent for large parks.
Enabling Choose Park at Start Up may allow you to open your smaller alt parks, but you probably won’t be able to open your main park if it’s a memory problem.
Calli and another FB player are having a lot of difficulty opening the game. They constantly receive the Connection Error message. This has been an ongoing problem for many months, but it has become much worse with the start of this event. It can take 20-40 attempts to load the game. Calli is on Android, and the FB player is on iOS. About a year ago, I could not open my park on an iPhone 8 after disabling Low Resolution Mode (I was doing some tests, and I thought low-res could be turned off). Reinstalling the game did not help, and after a while, I gave up since I could still play on a different device. About a month later, I happened to try again, and the game magically loaded! I immediately turned on low-res.
You may want to persistently attempt to open your game over and over and over. Maybe it’ll open. If you have Low Resolution Mode turned on, it should still be on. Be sure Optimize Memory is also enabled and clear all the items in your Gifts. Also, store animated decorations, switch the Weather Station to None, change the Twilight Tower to Day, remove island themes, turn off orbs, etc. There’s a sub-board on the Help Desk titled Complete Guide to Preventing Crashes. It lists all the RAM-draining decorations and other tips to prevent crashes. Enabling Choose Park at Start Up could help ensure that your small park can load.
If your device has 4GB RAM (or less), that will likely be a large part of the loading and performance issues you’re experiencing. I dreaded the day DV would exceed 4GB RAM for iOS players because it would affect so many long-time players. Unfortunately, it looks like that day has arrived.
The reps have been complaining about the issues that veteran players are experiencing, and today Deca said they are preparing a fix to go out with the new client update and will publish it as quickly as they can. I don’t know how long that will be. If you need a new phone for other reasons outside of DV and you're planning on upgrading anyway, I’d recommend the iPhone 15 Pro with 8GB RAM. Quil can open his park on it (but has constant crashes on a 2021 iPad Pro). I have an iPhone 14 Pro (6GB RAM) that cannot open my main park unless it’s in Low Resolution Mode.
PS, I love the new April Fools' loading screen messages, but the fact that you keep getting the 'Self destructing in 3..2..' message is brutal!

Maybe this Event should be renamed Crash Extravaganza. Every time I try to watch an ad it immediately crashes.
Edit: Yes, I Force Close DV every time it crashes.
I have the instant ad crashes too. They’ve escalated recently (may be related to other recent issues). Force closing the game no longer helps. I tested the ads to find a way to get them to show, and I have a solution that worked for me. FYI, I am using an iPad Pro (8GB RAM).
It seemed to me that the instant ad crashes could be due to ads loading much slower than usual. So, these are the steps I followed:
• After an ad crashes the game, force close the app. • After reopening the game, wait 30-60 seconds. • Be sure to time your wait. 30-60 seconds is a lot longer than you think when you’re standing around doing nothing. • Start with 30 seconds. Do not collect from habitats, visit the Rift, pan across your park, press buttons, or engage in any other DV activities. • After 30 seconds, tap the button to watch an ad. • If the game crashes, force close, reopen and wait 60 seconds.
I started with 60 seconds, then 30 seconds. An advert played at both intervals. No guarantee, it'll work on everybody's device, but it did work for me across four different parks. Each park had the instant ad crash.
More tips:
• It’s advisable to watch all your ads in a row. If the game crashes between adverts, you may need to wait ~30 seconds before playing the next ad to allow it to load. • If you watch an ad, then engage in other DV activities, when you try to watch another advert the game can crash. For me, it was a lot easier to complete all the ads in one session. But I suspect this may vary from device to device. I’ve finished watching all the ads in my parks for today. I’ll test this further when there are more adverts tomorrow.
The above recommendations are for players who tap an ad button and the game crashes. No part of the advert plays. If you’re experiencing crashes while the ad plays or when it opens the App Store, please provide the name of the ad and the ad provider so it can be removed. Thank you!
BTW, I re-reported this bug today. Hopefully, Deca will address all the ad issues soon.

Thanks for that info 😊. I figured out a long time ago to watch all ads together prior to doing any collections. That strategy keeps me from having to start all over in ‘mid-collection’, looking for Flaggers & Event Treasures.

I must have tried 40 or more times to get in. But the email response from Deca was the final straw. It boiled down to - Your device is too old. Get a new one. - yes, because that happened overnight… thanks Deca. I think Deca should consider seeing if they can make parks startup on Low Res when the game is first downloaded, with the option to increase it to high res. OR… that setting should be offered immediately. I think that would require too much spaghetti unraveling, but maybe the low res startup could be done.
So ya, I’ve been planning on a new phone for months anyway… bit the bullet and got it today. Can’t afford the newest iphone, so I laugh and cry at your comments about your 14 Pro. This one’s a 14 Plus. So far so good, but we’ll see how it fairs, I guess. It’s nice to see my babies in High Res - I’ve never been able to watch Nubis in High resolution before. Interestingly, back when Lightmare came out, I was still able to open the game in HR for short periods before it crashed.
So maybe interesting, when I downloaded the game on the new phone, the park selection window popped up readily, before loading all the files. The 8 seemed to be skipping the park selection window popup entirely and was downloading those files immediately. I don’t understand. Had it prompted me, I’d have opened the game with an alt. None of them have decorations. I’d have been safe to get it into Low Res that way, I’m sure. Alas… Oh, and my main park’s daily event gift from yesterday had been unlocked… so even though I never got in, it seems to have logged me in anyway.
So for now I’m back in, on High Res and my dopamine levels are back up The bank account is suffering a bit though. And when I finally got in, the twin notification I’d received turned out to be a twin Chipichip! That was a happy surprise!
And I also got a good laugh over the suggestion I clear my gift menu. It’ll be a cold day in hell before I manage that feat.
Thanks for sending on my posts to Deca. Hopefully they find it helpful and not demoralizing. I can only imagine how impossible dealing the the bowels of DV must be.

Here’s a fun update. So I replied to the Deca email yesterday morning, thanking them and asking if there was any way to ensure my game was in Low Res - thinking maybe if they did that, I could get it to load on the 8. No response until an hour ago (7 am Berlin time!!!) when he says he switched it to Low Res! Well it isn’t on LR on my 14, and because I’ve been into the game since he wrote me, who knows what he actually succeeded in doing… but hey! They tried! I wonder if it would have made a difference if I hadn’t been in the game. Maybe later today I’ll try switching to low res myself and see if it actually loads on the 8.

Thanks minyaz, but I've looked carefully everywhere on and around the island but no collection chest, even though my other islands are all full of them. Also, I watched the dragoncash total carefully when I touched the island in various places and the total didn't change. Oh well, it could be worse, at least I can get into the park and it's not constantly crashing.

The option for Low Resolution Mode has been present on all devices since Backflip released it six years ago. The only devices that don’t have a Low Resolution Mode option are those with low RAM, so they’re automatic in low res. For example, an iPhone 6 doesn’t have a low res option because it has 2GB RAM and can’t run DV normally, so it’s permanently in low res.
For the select park at start up option, you need to enable it to show. It probably wasn’t activated on your iPhone 8. Deca can turn Low Resolution Mode on for you, but it sounds like you already had it enabled. On your new device, until you turn on low res, your park will be in normal mode. But your park on the iPhone 8 still has low res enabled. You need to turn it on for each device. I have my main park in low res on an iPhone 14, and on my iPad Pro, it’s not in low res. Turning low res on/off on one device does not affect the low res setting on another device.
If you have a lot of eggs in your Gifts it will 100% cause problems in your game. Everything from lagging, crashes, the Social menu refusing to open, and the game not loading. I had oodles of eggs and spent a ton of time pruning most of them. I still have a lot, but I regularly maintain them. When I could no longer open the Social menu on my slightly older iPad Pro, I took the hint. Now, my game runs a lot faster, and Social opens quickly for the first time in years. You can ask Deca to delete all your eggs if it's too much trouble. I wanted to keep some for the donation boards, but it was a lot of work that took many weeks.

Good to know! I thought the game would just stay at whatever resolution it had been on, but I didn’t remember from the few times I’ve had to reinstall. I suspect if I clear out my photos, the phone will have more room to work with and might download the data better… I thought I 1. Had enough space and 2. created enough space after this issue, but perhaps not. Either way, I’m very happy to finally have a new phone (with lots more space). It’s been a long time coming and this was just the final straw.
The gift menu is just a difficult issue. I’ve let it go more recently because I haven’t needed the extra ec, but I’ll start working through the eggs again. I got it down to about 100 outside of twin rifts from eoms about a year ago, but alas, it’s built up again. I kept keeping them for donation boards, but then wouldn’t actually have the ones the boards asked for. A gift search wouldn’t just be useful for finding eggs for DB, it could really come in handy for eliminating duplicates too.
My game is crashing trying to watch ads even after the 60 second wait. My ads rarely crash. Seems like I had this same issue the last time the RBC were a part of the event.
[The option for Low Resolution Mode has been present on all devices since Backflip released it six years ago. The only devices that don’t have a Low Resolution Mode option are those with low RAM, so they’re automatic in low res. For example, an iPhone 6 doesn’t have a low res option because it has 2GB RAM and can’t run DV normally, so it’s permanently in low res.

A search function in the Gifts is the dream. I’ve asked for this many times over the years and so have plenty of other players. It’s constantly requested. After three years, I gave up waiting for Deca to implement the feature and went through the eggs to clear the massive number of duplicates. I kept 5-10 of all the permanent hybrids (depending on the hybrid and how frequently it appears on the donation boards). Didn’t incubate any of them, just cleared them — deleted them. I don't think it's worth keeping eggs to incubate for EC. It's easier to buy primary dragons from the Market if Gaia's nest is empty and EC is needed. Clearing thousands of eggs made a difference in my game’s performance. Now, I regularly go through and delete dupes to keep the list manageable. But it’s a lot easier to ask support to wipe your gifts.

My game is crashing trying to watch ads even after the 60 second wait. My ads rarely crash. Seems like I had this same issue the last time the RBC were a part of the event.
You may need to wait longer than 60 seconds. The wait period depends on your device and the size of your park. I noticed after the row of buttons (Rift, Dragonarium, Options, Social, Market) at the bottom of the screen dips (syncs with the server), an ad will play. The best way to describe this is with a video. This dip is most frequently seen at the Dragon Track. You may have noticed if you try to start a race before the game is ready, you’ll receive a Dragon Track cleaning message. After the icons at the bottom of the screen dips, everything is synced and you can race again.
Here’s a video from my alt park. I had to cut the first four seconds because the video was too long. This is what happened just before I started the video: I attempted to watch an ad at the Oracle, and the game instantly crashed when I pressed the green arrow. Force closed the game. Reloaded and immediately panned over to the Oracle. The Oracle appeared, and I started my stopwatch. This video begins four seconds into the wait.
52 seconds into the video, the row of buttons dips, indicating the sync. Then an advert plays. The wait time was 56 seconds.
This video was taken on an iPad Pro with 8GB RAM. The park has 20 islands, so it’s not nearly as large as my main park. The wait time for the sync varies. Sometimes it happens fairly quickly (~30 seconds). And there’s no guarantee that after the icons dip, an ad will play. I just noticed it greatly increases the chance. The problem is once your game instantly crashes due to an ad not loading, it keeps doing this over and over like it’s caught in a loop. Waiting for the sync helps to break the crashing cycle. I can usually watch several ads in a row before the insta-crash occurs again. Results will vary from device to device and park to park. These crashes seem more prevalent on an iPad, iPad Pro, and iPad Air.
Deca is working on several fixes. Hopefully, it will address this and other ad issues. We don't know when the update will be released. Once we have more information, we'll inform players. Thank you for your patience!

As mentioned by kaleni#0146, the chest may have moved. I have the Omegatat and the DC chest is no longer in the correct place. It is floating in a cloud to the right.
Here is an image so you can see where it is located now.
Calli checked the Megatat in her park on Android and verified that the DC chest icon does appear when the collection is ready.
You mentioned that the chest is showing on iOS. It’s in the same location. Here’s a screenshot from my park. (The icon is a little low on the island, so we asked Deca to raise it.)
The Megatat’s DC cap was increased to 10,000,000 DC. Your Megatat may not have earned enough DC for the chest to show. If you still don’t see the icon, please open a support ticket since this appears to be an isolated incident. Thank you.

Just realised the video I included didn’t show the start of the ad playing 😬. Imgur cut it off, so the vid was useless. I edited it down another second and changed the video in the original post to this new, correct version.

More 🍷 from me… Lately, my DV has been crashing when I ‘say yes’ to the offer to DOUBLE my daily sign-in reward by watching an ad. As a result, I get nothing 😡. I’m sure I’m not the only player who’s experiencing this. DECA needs to make this up to us.
