Lalipop and ladyj just so you know these are now questions for the General DragonVale thread. I'm sure the forum staff will be fine to have requests asked here since it was originally the place for them but so you know for any future requests.

Thank you @metaphoricalrobin, I remember seeing some announcements before regarding the request for avatars, but just couldn’t remember where. 😂. Hopefully I will remember it the next time when I do another request. 😜🙏🙏
Hello everybody! We have several updates for the ever-evolving DragonVale Community Forum.
CHATTERBOX
As you can see, the Chatterbox has been removed. Earlier this week, admins and mods were discussing the future of the Chatterbox. Since we have not implemented a new plan or concept, it has been temporarily removed so it’s not impeding the usability of the Forum. If members could please post questions and comments on the threads, it would be greatly appreciated.
WIKI EDIT REQUESTS THREAD
There’s a new thread on the Forum for DV Wiki corrections and edits! If you find a quest or see an error on wiki, post it on Wiki Edit Request. MinyaZ or one of the other wiki editors will update it. The DV Wiki is a vital resource, and players everywhere depend on it. With everyone’s help, we can keep it accurate and up to date.
COOPERATIVE REQUESTS THREAD
The Cooperative Requests thread has been revised with a new process to keep track of everyone’s co-op needs. This new version will allow the thread to be more manageable, and it should make dragon requests easier to find.

To the staff: I love how you take care of us and keep the forum updated and awesomely decorated and games and such. My suggestion stems from disliking the notice button on the home line. I don't like that it's two clicks (I know picky) first going to profile then to the list of notices. It also seems now we have a lot of activity on the new posts page.
When I start the forum, I always select: New Posts, so new messages ordered first. What if that could be grouped, like the profile tabs. Just as a suggestion for tabs: Recently updated (as it is now), events (easier to find past events), rate a dragon (less chance of missing one), games (find the..., Word games, etc.).
Just a suggestion, as I know it is a lot of work, or if it's possible.

You could bookmark the 'Notifications' section of your Profile on your browser if you wanted a faster way to get there. I'm not certain if there could be a link to the Notifications tab specifically. While (unless this forum is different to the one I use) the staff can add new links to the menu in the Admin > Forum Settings > Navigation section, the Notifications page uses the link 'user/[USER-NUMBER]/notifications' which varies depending on the user (e.g. you are user/3195, I am user/4776), which I think means it wouldn't be possible to link specifically to the notifications tab (your personal Profile tab can be accessed with just the 'user' link without the number, which is why that link does work). But there could be a plugin, or a setting I haven't noticed yet. (For what it's worth, I just tested it out on the forum I use, without the [USER-NUMBER] part of the link, and it said 'user could not be found', which I assume means the number is necessary, and so a specific button can't be made for it as putting in any number would link to the notifications of a specific user rather than the one trying to view their notifications).
I'm also not sure if there is a way to group New Posts buttons on the page that is currently being used (threads/recent), but I just had a play with Custom Pages and one of the possible widgets is Recent Posts. It also allows a specific board to be chosen, and some of the custom pages templates allow multiple sections in the page, so that could work! I'm not sure how much work it would be to create though, since I haven't played around with custom pages much on the forum I use.

The Forum is grouped like this. We highly recommend that members do not use New Posts, unless they were on the Forum recently. It’s better to use the Forum’s boards.
On the Home page, there’s a category titled DV DISCUSSIONS - All Active Threads. In this category, there are boards:
• All Things DragonVale • Rate a Dragon • Friends Centre • The Colosseum - Forum Contest & Competitions • DragonVale Gallery & Member Creativity • Game Room • DragINN
Each board has a description of the threads that are on it. Just find the topic you need and click on the board. There’s only a handful of threads on each board. All Things DragonVale is the largest and has 13 threads. Expired threads are moved to the Library, so they will no longer show (if you need old, locked threads, visit the Reference Desk category). It is so much easier to navigate the Forum through the boards. The Forum has grown a lot over the last couple of years. Hopefully, it will continue to grow. It’s become more vibrant and active and has outpaced New Posts. Unless you’re checking the Forum frequently, New Posts isn’t very helpful.

Thank you for explaining. For seven years have been doing new posts. When I adventured to home page, there is too much stuff. Now I know where to look. I'll try to change the habit. I do check the forum multiple times a day.

We are pleased to announce the DragonVale Community Forum has new Moderators
Welcome aboard, Worms, LadyJ, and Obijuan!
Please give a warm welcome to ladyj, obijuan, and Worms. They have been Forum members for several years, and between the three of them, they will provide critical support for the Spoiler Lounge, Spoiler Chat, The Spoiler Contest, Rate a Dragon, Last Call, and new projects on the horizon.
We are absolutely thrilled to have them on the team and look forward to working with them for many years to come!

The Chatterbox has been transformed into the much more melodious Jukebox! Why read the Forum in silence, when you can have a soundtrack? Click on your selected music and let the song run in the background while you peruse and chat with your Forum friends.
The Jukebox tunes will typically be related to the event. For the Dunes of Magic, the selections are the Twilight Tower’s Paradise theme, OboeKade’s Twilight Tower paradise tracks, and an assortment of Middle Eastern and desert-themed songs. The Jukebox music will change midway through the event to keep everything fresh. But if you want a song to return, just let us know, and it’ll be restored.
Many thanks to OboeKade, Worms, MinyaZ, and samiam (the Jukebox Technicians) for building this project and brining music to the Forum!

Thank you for including my name, but I didn’t do anything so far since I joined the Jukebox Technicians late. 😅
Thanks to OboeKade for putting everything on Soundcloud and starting the account, thanks to Worms for recording the Twilight Tower themes, thanks to MinyaZ for the Middle Eastern music, and thanks to adlerist for coming up with the amazing idea of the Jukebox and for the popular/rock and alternative songs!
Two things I’m always confused about and can never seem to find are:
1. I have read the twins page a bunch of times, but I still can’t tell whether twins only be bred in the Co-op cave? And if they can be bred elsewhere, how do we do that? 2. I’ve seen the cloning rules and exceptions for the variety of Epic and Special dragons like Chrysalis. But that doesn’t cover the rest of the Epics like Olympus, Seasonal, or the new Zodiac.

1. Yes, twins can only be bred in the Co-op cave.
2. I'm unsure what the question is here. The exception dragons don't follow 'the norm' for breeding and/or cloning.
Evolution dragons require two of the same dragon to be bred.
Galaxy dragons can only be bred in the co-op cave. (With the exception of Rigel, Lunis and Solis)
Gemstone/Crystalline dragons cannot be used as a breeding parent.
Ghostly dragons are not interchangeable with their normal hybrid counterpart. ie if the breeding hint is Ghostly Fire and Ghostly Mountain, you can not substitute a normal fire and mountain dragon. They are also not available in the rift.
Monolith and Snowflake dragons can be bred using two of the same category ie any Monolith + any Monolith can result in Monolith 1-6. (Same for Snowflake).
Chrysalis dragons all require a Chrysalis element to breed. There is a lot of inbreeding with the Chrysalis dragons, which is confusing. The Chrysalis breeding diagram was created by u/onyxavenger to try and make it easier to understand. It also helps players to know which Chrysalis dragons to prioritise if they want to buy some during an event. If you buy the 'correct' ones, you can then breed all the remaining ones.
All other epic dragons (Seasonal etc) are really just the same as other non Epic dragons. They may have a locked breeding combo requiring two specific dragons, but so do a lot of limited dragons. They can be single or double parent cloned in any cave (or rift).
The DragonVale Community Forum has a Reddit account! Our username is u/DVCommunityForum. The profile was created to provide more outreach for Rate a Dragon (RAD), and it will post RAD polls on r/DragonVale, the DV subreddit.
Earlier this year, the RAD Team looked into more opportunities to garner players’ feedback on Reddit and Facebook. A weekly poll with one of the RAD questions will capture the ratings from Reddit players. Those numbers will be averaged (similar to the RAD thread ratings) and submitted to the Deca DV Team when the event concludes. For now, there will only be polls for the new limited dragons.
On Thursday, a member of the RAD Team will post a new poll on Reddit, after the dragon’s RAD thread is released. The post will include a link to the Rate a Dragon board if players would like to rate more of the dragon’s categories or more dragons.
Starting with the next event (Om of Noms), there may be similar polls on Facebook created by CalliAlli, the FB Game Representative. This will allow us to receive feedback from the FB communities since they typically do not use the RAD threads.

Forum idea - is it possible to link the header to the active event thread? I normally can find the thread just fine after accidentally closing the tab but every once in a while I struggle to find it again, mostly because I never close the tab it lives in!

I’ll think about this, but I don’t believe a link in the header would look very good aesthetically, and I’d have to remember to remove/update it with each event. To find threads easily, on the Home page go to DV Discussions - All Active Threads, and click on the All Things DragonVale board. That board only has 15 threads, so it should be easy to find the event thread.
In the past, I’ve linked the event thread in this thread. This thread is usually an announcement, so it appears at the top of the boards and is easy to find. The problem is it’s so crazy busy right when the event launches, I don’t always have time to post here with the link, so I’ve stopped. I could try to start again, but it might not happen, because the post needs to occur right when the event thread is live.
You can bookmark the event thread, or add the link as an icon to your device/computer home screen, so it’s just a click away.

I totally understand that! I wasn't thinking a link per se more how the little bouncing dragon functions to take you to the top or bottom of the page, but instead, clicking the image of the event, brings you to the event. I am able to find the event thread just fine after remember the click order, its even easier when its the most recent thing someone has posted in, I am simply lazy XD I'll have to do the bookmarking thing!

If you navigate the Forum through the boards DV Discussions - All Active Threads > All Things DragonVale, the event thread is easy to find because not many are on the board. If you use New Posts, it will list every thread on the Forum, all 1,335, even expired threads from 12 years ago. Since the Forum has a lot of active threads, it’s best to use the boards and not New Posts.
Davinese and Fissure are just buttons for the up/down function. I’m not sure where an image could be added for a link. While it’s a nice idea, it would be a lot of work to code and keep updated with a new image and event link. Sorry about that. Maybe when I have some time, and I’m feeling adventurous…

The DragonVale Community Forum has a feature called Attachments. However, it has been dormant and inaccessible since the Forum reached the storage capacity for Attachments ten years ago. I’ve increased the storage limit for the duration of this event so Forum members can participate in our new contest Guess the Dragon and post images on the Forum's threads of their holidays, parks, and anything else they'd like to share about their festive season!
Attachments will allow members to post images without using a third-party image host. You can now post screenshots and photos directly from your device or computer!
Some important information about Attachments:
• You must be a Forum member and logged in to use Attachments.
• You will need to use the Desktop version of the Forum. The mobile version removes a significant portion of the Forum's features, including Attachments. To access the Desktop version on a mobile device, at the bottom of every page, simply tap 'Desktop' in the lower right corner.
• All attachments are posted as thumbnails. Click on the thumbnail to expand the image.
• Attachments have a limit of 1 MB. The small pics for Guess the Dragon won’t exceed this, but most photos and screenshots will easily surpass 1 MB. See Posting images larger than 1 MB at the bottom of this post to compress the image.
How to add images to your posts using Attachments
Click on the thread you want to post on and click the Reply button in the upper right corner of the thread.
The posting page will open. Type your message. When you’re done, click the Add Attachment button.
The Add Attachment window will open. Click the + Add files… button (outlined in blue). If the image is on your device, select Photo Library. Your device’s photos will open. (From your photos, tap on the image and select Add in the upper right corner to add the image. The layout and text may be different for each device’s photos, these instructions are from an iPad Pro.)
The image will upload. When the loading bar turns green, press the Insert button and the image will appear in your post. Click Done to close the Add Attachment window and the Create Post button to publish.
Posting images larger than 1 MB
Attachments have a limit of 1 MB. If your image is more than 1 MB, use imResizer. This is a free online image compressor that will reduce your image to 1 MB or less without greatly affecting the quality or dimension of the image.
If you have any questions about how to use Attachments or imResizer, please post your queries here or contact an admin or moderator.

upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: connection failure
This is a bug with ProBoards. They are aware of the situation and have been working on it. We do not know when it’ll fixed, and since we are getting close to the DV daily reset and new limited release, here’s a workaround that will let you log in through your dashboard.
1. Go to proboards.com 2. At the top of the page click on the Login button 3. Enter your email address and Forum password 4. Your dashboard will open. All the forums you are a member of will show. Under DragonVale Community Forum, click on your username (do not click on the forum name). 5. You’ll be directed to the DragonVale Community Forum
EDIT: If you’re on a mobile device, tap on the three lines in the upper right corner of the proboards.com page to login.

12 Days of Winter Scavenger Hunt
Due to the login issues from earlier today, the 12 Days of Winter Scavenger Hunt was postponed. Since the hunt requires members to be logged in, I wanted to be sure everybody could play.
ProBoards confirmed that the issue has been resolved. So, the hunt will start in the next couple of hours…
