I finished all three Eggy Hatchy towers, 16 hours after they were released! I believe this is the fastest I’ve completed the weekly tower. Now, I can relax and await Halloween.
The final level at the Spiral of Treats was a little tricky (trick-or-treat tricky). But the Redo button came in handy when the final egg merge kept losing the light element.
EGGY TIP: If you don’t clear a level, I find it far less frustrating to skip it and move on to a different level. It becomes very annoying if you can’t clear the same level after multiple attempts. But if you only try it once, then continue on to another, it’s not nearly as aggravating. The next time you open the game, you can return to the difficult level with fresh eyes and a clear head. Using this approach, I complete the levels faster in less attempts. Apparently, the lack of frustration brings Eggy clarity, and you’re able to make better egg choices.
I struggled with the last level in the number two daily tower today. It took so many attempts to clear it. I always try and clear the daily towers before moving on to the weekly tower, but I agree if I can't clear a level first try, I will move onto another level. Often I will have level 3 uncleared but have cleared several after it - especially if it is asking for Lightning dragons - they are the ones I always struggle with. 😊
I've been trying to keep track of which dragons I don't have in the rift, and just this morning was delighted to discover the Dragonarium has a tab in the 'All' section which tells me I can sort it into 'Available' dragons. But this doesn't filter the unavailable dragons - it just gives me the same list as the alphabetically sorted list and I still need to scroll through the whole 700 dragons to see which ones are wearing the green egg timer. Is this how it's supposed to be?

cecilia there is no easy way to see if you have a rift dragon in the Dragonarium. You have to go through the whole Dragonarium and look for the little rift symbol to see if you have a small amount of gold showing. Then you have a rift version. It is the same if a dragon is breedable except now you are looking for the green hourglass.
The Dragonarium has always been like this - it isn't very useful for trying to find breedable dragons and/or ones that you do or don't have available in the rift.
If you are specifically looking for event dragons, the easiest way is to look in the event tiers and click on the number that you have for each dragon. This will show you which ones you have rifted. It is tedious, but it is the best way I have found.
I’ve tried since the first day of this event to breed a Rift Eldritch. I had no luck getting a traited one or even a twin. So on the last day of daily rewards, I chose the Twin Eldritch, figuring at the next Runic Caves event I could get the Rift version. But I didn’t give up trying (obsessive much?!?) and today I finally bred a traited Eldritch in Rift! So Happy! What a great way to close out this event.

Congratulations on your traited Eldritch. Now when the Runic Caves are next in an event, you can choose another dragon. 😊

Wow that’s amazing you finished all three towers on the first day!
I tried your tip and it worked! I already had the daily towers done. I was able to complete the weekly tower without stress and quickly using this tip!
Jockstrap. Nine letters and the new name of my Hydnellum dragon, which looks like it could use one.
I like Hydnellum. I know it’s not for everyone and it is very creepy, but I like that it resembles the Hydnellum mushroom. Plus, it really fits Halloween. I like the cute dragons too, but for Halloween I want the spooky dragons.
One of the best things about this game is you can choose to collect the dragons you want. DragonMoonX pointed this out a while ago. If you don’t like a dragon you can skip it, or put it in hibernation. There’s so many dragons eventually there’s going to be some that you don’t like.
It sounds like you’re retracting your request for Hydnellum to be changed. For future reference and to answer your reply, I’ll explain my post further. Hydnellum does not have a bug that’s affecting gameplay, causing crashes, etc. That’s when a dragon needs to be changed. There may be an awkwardness in the design, but it’s not a bug.
Deca cannot redesign and reanimate dragons every time a player takes issue. If they did this, that’s all they would be doing — redrawing and reworking dragon after dragon. They’d have no time to create new content for events, DV would no longer be profitable, and the game would shutdown.
I understand players see DV from the view of a player. But they need to remember there’s another perspective — the developer. And sometimes the developer cannot do everything the player wants due to time constraints or because it’s not financially reasonable. Deca is not doing this to upset you or other players. They have a responsibility to keep the game running, and they know the limitations of what they can and can’t do to achieve this goal.
I hope that fully explains the situation, and thank you for your understanding.
I’m not giving up on anything yet. I want to get some pics of Hydnellum against a dark background and also look around my park to see if this issue affects other dragons. Just speculating here but I wonder if this is a way to save on graphics resources by not drawing the wing on the far side of the dragon when the wing color is nearly the same as the background color. The issue is amplified on Hydnellum because the wings are so large and thin. This is not a dragon to fly through a hail storm. The Hooded dragon flashing issue never got fixed either, did it? Some locales have laws against flashing, but this hasn’t caught on in the Vale yet.
Hooded is a completely separate case. It does not have an aesthetic issue; it has a bug that at one point affected gameplay. As we discussed earlier, the Hooded flickering is an old bug from the days of Backflip. At the time, the bug was much more prominent and limited the ability to play DV. Backflip was not able to completely resolve the issue, but they did significantly reduce it to a flickering.
When the Forum’s Flicker Testers reported the Hooded problem to Deca, they did look into the bug. However, they were not able to quash it. Since the bug is no longer impacting gameplay, and I did discover a workaround to avoid the flickering by hibernating Hooded, it’s likely not a high priority.
I don’t see much of a problem with Hydnellum in the video on its Rate a Dragon thread or the images you posted, and nothing that rises to the level of a bug. If Hydnellum looks different in your park, I’d recommend opening a help ticket with Deca and submitting a video and screenshots. This way, Deca can also look at your park.
In the meantime, if the Hooded flickering is disruptive, keep him hibernated in the Vale. He can still be displayed in the Rift.

Trick-or-treating is right around the corner and so is the autumn harvest
Less than 24 hours to...
🎃 Collect Candy
🎃 Complete all three Eggy Hatch towers (Basic Juxtaposing, Advanced Juxtaposing, Spiral of Treats)
🎃 Breed or buy Hydnellum and its pedestal
🎃 Claim all daily event rewards, including the final egg at the Hall of Hallows
(Remember, if you’re claiming a traited-twin dragon, you can select the trait you want: tap the day 42 prize; 'Choose a Dragon' will pop-up, tap the '?' on the dragon’s listing. The dragon’s profile card will show and you can see what the trait looks like on the dragon. If you don’t like the trait, close Choose a Dragon and the Hall of Hallows, reopen, and you’ll be offered a different trait. Repeat until the desired trait appears.)
🎃 You still have two more days to shop at Whitbee’s Castle. The event market disappears on Wednesday, November 2nd at the daily reset. If you’re wondering which dragons to purchase, MinyaZ has put together a list of the best dragons to buy (required in locked breeding combos), and the items in the event market that have the best Candy to DC exchange rate to maximise your DC earnings.
🎃 Two days left to vote for the top event dragons. The poll closes on Wednesday, November 2nd at 11.00 PM MDT. Don’t let your favourites down in the Upside Down!
🎃 And you have until Friday, November 4th to complete the Rate a Dragon threads. The deadline has been extended so you can relax and enjoy your Halloween and Día de los Muertos!

Obijuan, I think this really is just an issue of you viewing Hydnellum on a black background. Visit my park to see it on a blue sky background right now at the co op cave. You’ll clearly see 2 wings. With 700+ dragons you aren’t going to like them all. If we could randomly make changes based on personal preference, I would have something to say about my-little-pony-Serenity but I’m willing to accept it (as long as it stays in it’s corral in the hibernation cave). Hydnellum has a different wing design; I like it and I suspect we’ll see it used again. Let’s not push Deca for a redesign when there isn’t really anything wrong with it.
Well singleimage, I bred an Eldritch with yours first try. Sadly, it's not a twin. I'll keep trying! Thanks!!
OMG! Thank you so much for the twin Eldritch, Elizabeth!
You’re AMAZING! I can’t believe you did it and so quickly! I was only able to get us twin Bone dragons. I hope that helps a little. If you don’t have a twin Porcelain, you could evolve it.
I sent you gems and treats, thank you so much!! I can finally get a traited Eldritch by claiming it!
Thank you again, elizabethaw!! Because of you, I was able to select Eldritch with a fire Rift trait for the last reward (thanks for the reminder adlerist). The fire trait looked the most like Halloween. Woo-hoo!
🌜May your Halloween be as spooky as it is spectacular🌛

End of event rant: ABSOLUTE RAGE OVER THIS fudge!!!!!!!! (Going to try to edit my words but the amount of expletives I want to use and completely curse out the dev’s for this)
So this event went for almost 45 days, and for the entire event, I tried over I believe 15 different combos in an attempt at the eldrich dragon. And I do understand that it was a 0.1% chance but to get EVERY SINGLE OTHER DRAGON 10 TIMES OVER including the double and triple rainbow (0.2% chance) and not see even one out of the rift or even when I used my only eldrich dragon to try and clone one in any of the islands/cave. COULD NOT EVEN CLONE ONE?!?!?!?! At this point in the game if someone told me the sky was made of cheese it would have been more believable than me actually getting this ******* dragon!!! The entire event, not just a couple days worth of attempting, but the ENTIRE ******* EVENT in trying. I think I would have had a better chance at getting a dragon that isn’t even available right now or going for the chromocorn dragon which shows a 0.0% chance!! This would have been on both parks if I hadn’t stumbled upon my main park having a twin rifted eldrich in my gifts, because I was still trying to get another in my main park.
There better be some sort of compensation or something because this was a giant fail on DECA and I know I’m not the only one who didn’t get certain dragons because the breeding algorithm is bull. DECA FIX THIS fudge!!!!!
The only true positive that came from this event was in both parks I was able to breed all three of the new ones from the hellfire tab

There were discussions about Eldritch and its low breeding percentage on this thread starting on Oct 12. There was also a brief discussion about it on the Spoiler Chat thread. Everyone pretty much agrees that it’s best to buy Eldritch and breed with a friend’s Eldritch to get a twin. Then claim a Rift twin when the RBC are back or for the last egg in the event rewards. A couple players who posted on this thread and the Cooperative Requests thread had Eldritch in their co-op so players could try for twins and use this strategy.
Eldritch is Backflip’s dragon. They’re the ones who put the breeding percentage at .2%. I understand how frustrating it is to not breed a dragon for over a month. I’ve done that a lot! But in this case, it seems like the anger should be towards Backflip. Maybe DECA will change Eldritch’s percentage, maybe not, but there haven’t been a lot of complaints to change Eldritch until this event.

This annoyed me for ages too. I finally decided to use my wish list to put my missing rift dragons in, it is easy to go to and see which are available for breeding when I have downtime in the rift, like between now and the next event start. And you are asked so politely whether you wish to remove it from the wish list when you finally get one that you’re trying for Win win, I think
