I would love a theme in Twilight Tower that follows the clock of our device and changes the theme in the game from dawn to day to dusk to night based on time (or even just day and night). That way the dragons that change look based on day or night theme can be seen in both their forms. I like some dragon's Day form better than night form but others I prefer the night form so it makes it hard to stick to a theme and still be able to enjoy all my dragons.
So, I have a quandary for the final present/egg claim that I would like some advice on.
I have a short term goal of twins and blue fire. I have red fire by the end of the event (or sooner). Purple fire and owning all of the rifted seems impossible and highly unlikely. I have about 4 twin dragons I could claim. Where the quandary comes in is that I could claim either a rifted eldritch (which I have been trying for unsuccessfully the entire event) or a rifted Wendigo ( which I could try for the current limited, I don’t even have a rifted macabre to get rifted wendigo) instead of one of the twins. Claiming one of these helps maintain red fire since they seem to like eldritch as a parent.
I don’t know which way to go, I realize we each play our own game, but I would like some advice, particularly from those that have blue fire. The help with breeding twins thread also weighs in to the decision, twins I can get help on, rifty versions I can’t. But then I look at probability of getting Barbarous twinned and I lean back to claiming a twin because that is my goal.

Can anyone add some advice?
Never mind. Typing that out and my success at Dragon week has given the answer.
As they would say, stay on target. Now to figure out which of the four twins to claim.
The Hydnellum in my park seems to have a manufacturing defect. The wing on the far side of the dragon is rarely visible. At first I thought this was a one winged dragon, but there is a second wing that is only visible for an instant after Hydnellum stamps it’s its* feet at one point. The rest of the time the second wing is not visible, even when the dragon is flying which is a bit disconcerting (and it took my Hydnellum three days to begin flying). If this is really a one-winged dragon then I hope Deca did extensive wind tunnel testing before releasing the dragon. But I jest. This is a drawing error because the second wing is briefly visible at certain times. Can this be fixed?
* auto-incorrect strikes again
Unfortunately, Deca can’t make aesthetic changes to dragons unless it’s a bug that’s causing problems in the game, or a lot of players report similar concerns. It would be too time consuming and most players wouldn’t notice the difference. Sorry about that.

The lighting on the loading screen is so dark that I actually didn't recognise the dragon on it as (the super bright in-game) Hydnellum until today. Something about the relative shading compared to the Vampyr threw me off I think.
Something I'd really like as a new feature would be a way to lock some of the Day/Night dragons into a form separate from the theme/time of day. I prefer (or at least am happy with) most of the Night forms but Night!Rotblossom looks so tired lol, I feel kinda sorry for it.
PRO TIP: Rotblossom retains its daytime version if you use the Star Fall or Dusk themes. All the other night themes convert him.
I also like his day version more. But I prefer night in the Vale. Star Fall lets me have the best of both worlds.

For those of you who might be wondering why Hydnellum looks the way it does, the dragon is based on and named after Hydnellum peckii, also called 'bleeding tooth fungus / mushroom', due to its thick red fluid and tooth-like spines beneath its cap.
I’ve spoiler tagged the image of the Hydnellum peckii for those who have trypophobia or an aversion to certain colour palettes. The image has made some players uncomfortable in other DV communities.
As you can see, this mushroom is very Halloween-ish and looks a lot like Hydnellum the dragon.

Is Frons the precedent for a dragon do-over? Hydnellum looks awful with just one wing. Does anyone else see this or is it just my dragon? What makes it worse is the shape of the one wing you can see (which is always towards the viewer no matter which way the dragon is facing - another graphical glitch). The maximum chord (width) of the wing is in the middle instead of where it attaches to the dragon making it look like the wing is attached by the wingtip. The second wing on the far side of Hydnellum IS visible periodically, so this is definitely a dragon with two wings and both wings should be visible at all times, especially while Hydnellum is flying. This is a bug, not aesthetics. Okay, maybe a little bit about aesthetics if you want to make the case that the wings are way way too big, but let’s not go there. Deca needs to fix Hydnellum so both wings are visible all the time. This is a broken dragon at a record price. My two wings.

Frons was a special case as he should never have been released as he was.
Frons Change There was even a eulogy for him after he changed. Frons Eulogy And a better explanation came out the following year. Frons
I have watched my Hydnellum dragon at the co-op cave and I cannot see what you are seeing - not to the extent that you are seeing it anyway. There is a brief time when it looks like there may be only one wing, but generally you can see two. They are very thin wings and could perhaps have been drawn better. I have also watched the video adlerist posted in the Hydnellum Rate a Dragon thread and I can see two wings when it is flying as well.

Well, this is very interesting. My Hydnellum currently lives in an apocalypse habitat on an island with a fire theme which has a mostly black background. In this setting Hydnellum is a one-winged dragon most of the time. But when I moved the habitat and dragon to an island with a cold theme which has a light background, both wings are consistently drawn and visible. Same thing in an omnitat on an island with a green background. However, against a black background, the second wing is consistently not drawn and therefore not visible. I will post some photos tomorrow that illustrate the problem (assuming I can catch my Hydnellum flying again). Thank you for your post, MinyaZ. It has really helped narrow down the problem.

It sounds like you’re retracting your request for Hydnellum to be changed. For future reference and to answer your reply, I’ll explain my post further. Hydnellum does not have a bug that’s affecting gameplay, causing crashes, etc. That’s when a dragon needs to be changed. There may be an awkwardness in the design, but it’s not a bug.
Deca cannot redesign and reanimate dragons every time a player takes issue. If they did this, that’s all they would be doing — redrawing and reworking dragon after dragon. They’d have no time to create new content for events, DV would no longer be profitable, and the game would shutdown.
I understand players see DV from the view of a player. But they need to remember there’s another perspective — the developer. And sometimes the developer cannot do everything the player wants due to time constraints or because it’s not financially reasonable. Deca is not doing this to upset you or other players. They have a responsibility to keep the game running, and they know the limitations of what they can and can’t do to achieve this goal.
I hope that fully explains the situation, and thank you for your understanding.

I finished all three Eggy Hatchy towers, 16 hours after they were released! I believe this is the fastest I’ve completed the weekly tower. Now, I can relax and await Halloween.
The final level at the Spiral of Treats was a little tricky (trick-or-treat tricky). But the Redo button came in handy when the final egg merge kept losing the light element.
EGGY TIP: If you don’t clear a level, I find it far less frustrating to skip it and move on to a different level. It becomes very annoying if you can’t clear the same level after multiple attempts. But if you only try it once, then continue on to another, it’s not nearly as aggravating. The next time you open the game, you can return to the difficult level with fresh eyes and a clear head. Using this approach, I complete the levels faster in less attempts. Apparently, the lack of frustration brings Eggy clarity, and you’re able to make better egg choices.

The News section states that the time left for new decorations is 3 days 4 hours. Does that mean that any decoration purchases must be completed on the same day that we finish collecting? I like to collect all I can and then spend the last two days of the event working out what to buy.

Messed that ⬆️ up a bit (not for the first time!).
While I’m here I’ll lament lovely, leafy Frons once again 😢
I miss Frons the Maple so much too! The Forum has the fondest memories of him. Recently, I was cleaning out my videos, and I came across this one I took on October 2, 2000, when Frons was released. This seems like a good time to post it (even if it’s a bit off-topic for the event thread) to celebrate Frons’ birthday. Maybe I’ll add it to the Frons appreciation post.
🍁👑🍁 Long live Frons the Maple 🍁👑🍁

The decorations will remain in the event market until the event concludes on November 2nd.
I informed Deca of this error, and they said the timer will be corrected. Thank you so much for noticing this and letting us know. Cheers!

I’m not giving up on anything yet. I want to get some pics of Hydnellum against a dark background and also look around my park to see if this issue affects other dragons. Just speculating here but I wonder if this is a way to save on graphics resources by not drawing the wing on the far side of the dragon when the wing color is nearly the same as the background color. The issue is amplified on Hydnellum because the wings are so large and thin. This is not a dragon to fly through a hail storm. The Hooded dragon flashing issue never got fixed either, did it? Some locales have laws against flashing, but this hasn’t caught on in the Vale yet.
Curly leaf and Verdigris are two other dragons that look like they have only one wing. Both try to give the illusion of two wings but aren’t very convincing, especially when flying.
Here are two views of the Hydnellum problem. On the left, two wings are briefly displayed while the dragon is busy stamping its feet and a lot of graphical drawing is going on. On the right is what I see most of the time - only one wing which looks strange. It gets even more bizarre when Hydnellum is flying above this island because only one flapping wing is visible. This issue does not seem to occur on islands with light colored themes such as the cold theme. I hope this is something that can be fixed easily.
I've been trying to keep track of which dragons I don't have in the rift, and just this morning was delighted to discover the Dragonarium has a tab in the 'All' section which tells me I can sort it into 'Available' dragons. But this doesn't filter the unavailable dragons - it just gives me the same list as the alphabetically sorted list and I still need to scroll through the whole 700 dragons to see which ones are wearing the green egg timer. Is this how it's supposed to be?
Thanks for the happy memories adlerist. I still can’t believe quite how much Frons was ruined, from so simple to ridiculously overdressed 🤷♀️
To be honest obijuan, I think Hydnellum’s occasional one wing is the least of its problems 😷😀
