Has anyone bred an Ovalith in the rift? I know it has low breeding odds, but it is proving to be a pain. It is one of two limiteds that I still need from the event, the other being a Niamh. I am thinking I should switch to the latter and then back to the Ovalith if successful. Or just go ahead and use my gift egg since I have a twin.
Definitely try for Niamh first if you have the end of event gift as backup.
I have officially completed the event. I've gotten everything from the permanent tier market (though the Lost Island doesn't say obtained since mine is expanded).
All I need to wrap things up is a Solary Pedestal... but I'm not worrying too much about that.

Am I right in thinking that, if on the off chance Somnig does get the Dream element it so desperately deserves, but it doesn't lose its four shown primary elements, it would be a better DC farming dragon than Iden? According to the wiki they earn the same base amount of DC, but if Somnig loses no elements (and just gains Dream) then it would have one extra boost. And it has 10% single parent cloning odds in Co-Op, making it easier to start than Iden.
The only downside is that, if it were to gain the Dream element, it would probably get all elements as hidden elements due to Snooz. But given how many pseudos I've cloned in the RBCs this event (most of them having 5% single parent cloning odds in a normal cave, or less) I don't think that would be a problem when compared with Iden's low chance to get initially.
There's a lot of 'ifs' in this scenario but there's no harm in hoping 🤣
Calli and I both requested the addition of the dream element to Somnig, without adding all ten primary elements. It’s totally unnecessary to add all the elements, regardless of Snooz, since offspring do not always inherit the parent’s elements. If the decision is to add dream and all the elements, then it’s best to not touch Somnig. I don’t know what Deca decided, but since we haven’t heard back from the DV team, and the dream element hasn’t been added, so far it’s not looking too positive.

Can anyone remind me when the Rate A Dragon ratings are due? I just want to make sure I get that lovely cherry tree in my profile!
I’m claiming most of my RBCs early, and spending my EC in case we have any other early ending errors.
Still trying for Cherrie and Terradiem. Everything else I’m pretty content about. Glad I am ready to start a Niamh farm with my Harmonius habitats.
adlerist always puts the closing date on the first Rate a Dragon for the event and she will post reminders closer to the date as well. @metaphoricalrobin is correct, this time it is May 3rd, although you can always ask for an extension if you have something going on.
If you have rated any dragons during an event, I will always send out a reminder closer to the closing date as well. 😊
Just to add to this, the deadline for Rate a Dragon is when the event concludes. The date is on the first post of every RAD thread, except for player-designed dragons. But we typically extend the deadline a couple days to Friday.
I’m so pleased that you like the cherry blossom tree award, hetchy!

It wouldn’t be hard at all. 😄 Deca didn’t omit the plant element because it’s difficult to include. They probably are not thinking about all the habitats that a dragon will look good in when they add elements to the profile card. Cherrie is a seasonal dragon, and the Seasonal Habitat is pretty nice too. I can ask them to add plant, but no guarantees.
Thanks adlerist . Cherrie is carrying a LOT of baggage around. While a cherry tree looks good in the Seasonal habitat the Harmonius habitat has much more uncluttered space for Cherrie to put the load down for a bit.
That’s a great point, and a good reason to add the plant element. The Harmonious Habitat is larger, so it would better accommodate the cherry blossom tree animation.

I have been trying to breed an Ovalith in the rift as well. No luck with Ovalith, but have cloned a couple of Panlong dragons which has worse odds than breeding Ovalith. Makes total sense. 😂
Looks like Solary's egg was changed. No idea why, in my opinion the old one was so much better. Why did they feel the need to add the random red bit to the egg as well?
Deca said the wrong art was in the game — that’s why it was changed.

Do we know anything about Solary apart from the fact 'the wrong art was in the game'? Is it that the original egg was an initial design that got changed and they forgot to update the design in-game?

The original egg was the 'wrong art', so they corrected it today. That’s all the information Deca released.

I’ve informed Deca that many players prefer the previous egg. The feedback will be passed on, but it’s highly unlikely Deca will revert the egg.

I plan the RADs in advance if I have a spare moment (in case I don't have time to do them when they're published) and I've added a comment similar to Dapplethorn's (that it would be nice to see a similar design again at some point if possible). 🤞

I was working out whether I'll probably have enough EC for the final 5 dragons I need and all returning dragon pedestals I don't yet have when I realised Stoneshell and Plateau (the dragons for which cost the same amount of EC - 1648) have different prices for their pedetals (165 for Stoneshell and 164 for Plateau - and Stoneshell is listed before Plateau).
It's nothing major, but I was wondering why that would be?
(Also, does anyone know why Solary is not in the Vernal section of the Dragonarium?)

No wonder! I didn’t realize it was the Solary when it finished breeding. literally, I was squinting at the egg, wondering what I bred. Then went to the event market and saw it was the Solary.. I thought my brain was acting up again..🤣🤣 .. Message to Deca: please stop playing mind games with us senior citizens…😜😜
Am I the only player who likes Solary’s correct egg? Love it! The other was a bit too retro and not up to current egg art standards.
After MANY attempts, I finally got a traited Solary today. I still need a traited Cherrie so I’ll switch to non-stop working on that. I could buy my last runic token and get it there but it would be more fun to breed it in Rift.

I do like the current Solary egg design. Yet at the same time, it is quite a bit of a change from the 'unfinished' egg design, and I enjoyed the scale pattern on the original design.
The only thing I don't like about it is the orange scarflike pattern at the bottom of the egg.

Stoneshell and Plateau have often been in the same events together and for the same price. The Eggciting Egg Hunt and Luck of the Vale for example.
But Plateau would also appear in an extra event - Into the Wild was between these two and it was priced differently - 6000 event currency.
Then between Luck of the Vale and A Thawsome Spring, Plateau was also in the Camping Under the Stars event (priced at 2200). So when A Thawsome Spring came around, Deca reverted its cost back to 1648 which is the cost it was for Luck of the Vale. When it came to the cost of the pedestal, someone rounded the cost down to 164 instead of rounding it up to 165. That is why Stoneshell is 165 and Plateau is 164.
Stoneshell is listed before Plateau in the market because this is the same order that they were in the Eggciting Egg Hunt event and the Luck of the Vale event.

I think the egg and baby Solary are too small for the large orange scarf. It would look much better if it was a bit smaller. On baby Solary, it looks like a beak and not a scarf at all. 😊
