Just wondering if anyone is breeding in their runic breeding caves or waiting to see if they get fixed first.
I'm breeding. I've collected 3 eggs already - just to safeguard. I'll buy Runestones as needed when I breed the next one that I want. It's not how I would have normally played, but this way, if the bug does affect me, I might actually get to select twice.

The bug hit me this morning and I’m already breeding again. I also plan to buy runestones and collect dragons right away to avoid losing ones I want.
I contacted DECA through the app and asked them to at least return my RBCs to post-tutorial setup. I am luckily far enough into the game that losing my egg history isn’t critical. Also told them to hang in there - and that I appreciate all their hard work keeping DV running!
Deca has released a potential fix to stabilise the event disappearing bug. It may not fully resolve the issue. They are monitoring the progress and are currently looking into restoring the Runic Breeding Caves.

Lost my event island and breeding caves. Reloaded and got them back, but my active RBC was gone (still had 1 day left on the initial bonus one).
Got useless dragons from the closed caves and my breeding history was reset. /sigh back to cloning those annoyingly hard to breed Apocalypse dragons.

Deca is not perfect. They’ll make mistakes and have bugs just like any other developer. Maybe they can’t fix things as quickly as a large company, and maybe they’re slower with fewer employees. But DV wouldn’t be any better under Backflip/Hasbro today.
Wishing that DV was like how it was in the glory days of 2011-2013 when there were hardly any bugs, hardly any events, a handful of islands, and 100 dragons is a nice thought. But everybody would’ve quit the game of boredom with no new content. Instead, time marches on, and here we are with a 13-year-old custom-built engine, 36+ islands, and 800+ dragons, making it through another day.
I’m specifically talking of how Backflip (before Hasbro was included) handled mistakes, errors or glitches… not the totality of all gameplay. My family & I got pop up apologies and was always compensated well very quickly after the mishap. I never had to over explain the situation or wait for a long period to never end up with anything. Now I did have more trouble when Hasbro was added so I quit even contacting customer service as canned responses was their favorite, and usually there wasn’t help to be had anyway. It’s about the same from DECA for most of my experiences. I have learned to play the game mostly without customer service help with all its bugs, and try to enjoy when I can. I let the last runic cave mishap go, and lost my money, but I will ask apple for a refund this year on principle alone if there is not a suitable fix.
People seem to forget that DECA took over DV in 2020 when there were already a lot of bugs in the game and the game was large so crashes were a problem. Comparing DV from 2013 to 2023 is apples and oranges because it’s a very different game with different challenges.
I just wanted to further say that I agree and support what adlerist and the other mods have said. If there’s anything we can do to help let us know. I realize I can’t be on the forum all the time, but you can message me or any of the admins and mods and we’ll do what we can. Players don’t have to feel like they can’t email DECA’s customer service or report problems. It won’t help you or DECA if you can’t communicate. You’re willing to contact Apple to be reimbursed, but you’re not willing to contact DECA. DV is an old game and it has problems. It depends on players notifying them of issues either with the game or with support’s service. There have been many times, even yesterday with the changes to the limited combos, and last week with the addition of cold to the Snowflake habitat that came about because adlerist, the game reps, the forum’s members, admins, and mods brought up the issue with DECA. BFS never made changes like this for players. I know you’re upset with DECA, but they are willing to listen if you can put that aside.

Since DV is a major source of entertainment (especially with COVID, RSV, and various flu viruses abounding) I switched to spending my former movie money on the game.
I'm sorry for constantly having this question. I'm looking to clone a Mistletoe in the Co-op cave. I have her in my alt park, so I'm just going to breed with that one. My question is, would it be best to breed with an Elder cold (which should give 10% odds), or should I try with one of her breeding pair (either Tree or Lichen)? Somewhere I read that you could get combo + cloning odds, but then I remember someone else shooting me down when I asked somewhere else (I think it was reddit), so I come to you guys for the real answer!
You can’t obtain breeding and cloning odds because Mistletoe has a locked breeding combo (Tree + Lichen). Elder Cold, Plant, or Earth would be the best to clone Mistletoe.

I was thinking about trying to evolve some Coal dragons in the Rift, but have almost none of the items to do so yet. I see the Toy Chest in the market but 1100 seems like a lot of EC to spend on a chest that might just give me EC or treats.

Embracer’s acquisition of DECA occurred after DECA purchased DV. From what we can tell about Embracer, it’s different from the BFS/Hasbro relationship. Embracer has many smaller gaming companies. Unlike Hasbro, it specializes in video game companies. They can provide financial support to DECA, but they’re not controlling the operations. DECA isn’t reporting directly to Embracer about gameplay decisions, hiring employees, etc. DV still has to be profitable or it can’t exist, but that’s true for any mobile game. Even if players don’t make purchases, they’re still financially supporting DECA by watching ads and just opening the game and playing DV.
I agree with you about DV being a major source of entertainment. That’s very well said! I do support the game and will make purchases like I would for cable TV or going to the movies or a concert. I spend a lot more time with DV than any other entertainment source, so it’s money well spent.

Since there are 100 winter evolve decorations (10 evolve dragons), the best way to obtain all of them is to play the mini-games (Sandakloz and the presents in your park can also have decos). On a Double or Triple Day, buy extra plays with gems because you’re guaranteed a gold chest, provided that you win the game (select a game you’re good at). There’s no guarantee the gold chests will contain decos, and you can receive duplicates, but it’s still worth spending the gems because you’ll receive a lot of Iceberries (be sure to do this on a Double or Triple Day).
Once you’ve acquired 75%-80% of the decorations from the mini-games, you’ll start receiving a lot of duplicates. At this point, the Toy Chest is extremely valuable because it will give you unowned evolve decorations. Wait until the end of the event (you could still win decos from the free mini-game plays and the tappables in your park), then purchase the remaining decos from the Toy Chest. This way, you won’t be spending a lot of Iceberries on the Toy Chest.

That is not what the email said. The Attachment feature works on all the threads on the Forum. If you post a screenshot of the email it will help to alleviate confusion.
Customer support can only resolve so many issues. They can send DC, EC, and dragons to your Gifts, restore a park with your Friend ID, etc. They cannot fix bugs. The email informs players that the ticket will be closed because it can’t be resolved through customer support (tickets). The bug needs to be fixed by the dev team. So they are notifying players that even though the ticket is closed, the issue is still being worked on. I posted the latest news about the bug on this thread earlier today.

When I try to click on the ticket for more info, it wants me to login to their ticketing system. It didn’t even suggest updating or anything. If I didn’t have the forum I wouldn’t know anything based off what I have received from DECA.
Apologies for not understanding what you were saying and assuming something different, lisgie. I see that you didn’t receive information about the ticket closing and that Deca was still working on the issue. I thought there was one generic/stock reply sent to all players. But instead, there were several different messages delivered, and not all of them were informative. The Deca Community Manager has informed Customer Support. Hopefully, the communication to players will be clearer in the future because it's only more aggravation if the ticket is closed, and there's no update on whether the problem has even been addressed.

Time for my first whine🍷🍷🍷 I’ve been trying to breed a traited Sugarmitten since the beginning of the event and frustration has set in. Several times a day I’ve tried to breed Everfrost in the RBC…no luck.. I’m not sure why Everfrost is being so difficult 🍷🍷🍷

I believe that Frostivale Yulebration also began fairly close to Christmas, if I remember correctly.

It has always been triples day on Christmas Day itself so it might be worthwhile to utilize Kairos on that day. It's 4 more days to Christmas hence players might wanna refrain from activating his ability in the next few days.
Tolzar has no ads to show today. Just the offerwall. That’s 300 EC missing right there on a double day. Sigh.

The ads came back after a couple of reloads. When I tap on Tolzar the only things that are visible are the offerwall and help buttons. Eventually those buttons tumble down, then up, and the ad or vision button becomes visible. This is new behavior. I used to see offerwall, visions, and help buttons immediately.

All is well. I finally got the latest DV update in the Apple App Store. I seem to get DV updates later than many players. On iOS is there a way to force an update I know is available to appear in the App Store?
Hi - I’ve just been hit with the bug that ends the event I’ve lodged a ticket - hopefully when I reload I’ll get the event back I had bred about 10 dragons that I wanted - although I hadn’t claimed any - so not very happy
I have been hit by the runic caves bud 😫 my egg history is gone & I have 3 random dragons from Deca which are not what I wanted to collect. My park id is Soikow27#5271.
Should I lodge a ticket or will the mods report it for me? Update : Ok I sent an email to Support via the app. Sigh.
