Gah! More long fails in the co-op and caves (36 and 25ish) I believe I’ve had 5 25+ hour fails in the last 48 hours. I’ve also switched to trying for Rubrum in the rift, abandoning my hopes for a second and third Lovey to evolve to Loveydovey. I also ended up buying Rubrum so I could at least try clone, and maybe even twin, it.
Lovely’s egg has been updated! It’s no longer identical to Loveydovey’s egg.

If you haven’t begun the petal removal process, you may want to get started. Petal Island vanishes on Thursday, February 29th at the daily reset (14:00 UTC), and it takes 72 hours to clear all the petals. You can use gems and Kairos to speed up the process.
Happy Petaling!
Thank you for the warning! I totally forgot my alt parks have been slacking!
I am going to miss this island. It looks so nice. I love the pic! 🌹

Breeding Lovey (Rosegold + Cyclamen) has a slight better chance of resulting in Lovey than cloning Lovey (Lovey + another dragon). Breeding = 1.5%, and cloning = 1%. I still need a second traited Lovey as well. I hope you breed one soon! 💕
Does that mean that the breeding odds in the sandbox are wrong? Rift breeding odds with Lovey and for eg Bramble say 3.7% with 18 offspring, vs 1.2% and 79 offspring for Rosegold & Cyclamen?
i flinch at the word "wrong", since it lacks historical context, but essentially yes, they're wrong. they're calculations written in a darker age, long before we knew as much about the game's internal workings as we do now, when all we had was some clever guesses and painstakingly recorded statistical data. but those creaking and dusty calculations are hard-baked into a lot of sandbox code now, and ripping them out and replacing them is non-trivial.
quil's compendium is of a more recent and elightened era, and quil deserves a heck of a lot of credit for the detective work.
okay, end of side-trip, back to breeding loveys!

Sorry Drow, I have been getting very little sleep lately and couldn’t extract a better word from my brain at the time. I, much later, thought to edit it to inaccurate (maybe that’s not much better?) but, well at the risk of repeating myself ….. little sleep and lots of stress these past few days, it wasn’t a priority and discussion moved on. Apologies for any disrespect or bad feelings, I had a (not so) small freak out years ago when the original creator said they had to give it up as it was too much work now. Thank you so much for picking up their sandbox and keeping it going.
I have used the sandbox for many many years, it’s all I had until recently when I stumbled across this awesome forum and I had used it very extensively to determine which dragons to use to breed, the odds and times etc. It was invaluable to me but I always wondered why I wasn’t as lucky at breeding and/or single cloning as the sandbox said I should be. I now know.
Koalas for Loveys to you. I’m still trying for traited Rubrum and two traited Loveys myself. Not liking my chances for either at this stage.
Arghhhhh just got a 36.5 hour fail in my cave so that’s it done for Rubrum, not even Kairos will clear it in time. Soooo many long fails I’ve had for Rubrum, but was lucky enough to clone and breed Rubrum overnight in my co-op and island, after I used EC to get it of course such has been my luck for it. I shouldn’t be too upset I suppose but I’m gonna have to use Kairos and gems to clear that cave for the last limited. I do hope the long fails leave when Rubrum does.

Another odds question, sorry - have Deca changed Surprise's odds? The Compendium says it's 9% with as few elements as possible, but even at 7 elements it's still pretty high (just over 3% for Euryale + Sleighbell for example) - only at 9/10 primary elements does it go lower than 2%, and it never goes lower than 1.5%. But I can count on one hand how many I've gotten this event, despite pretty much all the combos I've been using having at least 4 elements, most notably in the Rift.
If so, this was really kind of them to do. Dragons that can show up in essentially any combo (since most usually involve at least 4 elements) are kind of annoying when you've already got them, so lowering the odds is useful.

Surprise has not been updated in the data. If you don’t own Suprise, the breeding percentage is 9%. Once you own it, the percentage drops to 1%. So players who have Surprise shouldn’t be receiving it frequently, but sometimes unluckiness surprisingly pops up.

Lovey and the lovely Petal Island are disappearing into the pink sunset
At the next daily reset, Petal Island is leaving the Vale forever
Lovey will also be departing and taking its newly coloured egg with it
And you will no longer be able to evolve Lovey into Loveydovey for 1,000 Roses. It will cost 100 gems.
Say your fond farewells, clear the petals for the Love Potion decoration, breed those Loveys, and evolve them into Loveydoveys as quickly as you can.

Unfortunately I was unable to breed a traited Rubrum or a twin. I’m sure I’m not alone as this was a tough one. I’ve moved it to the wanted list for the RBC

Ah, that makes much more sense. I haven't gone through and completed the Compendium's checklist yet so that explains it.
Woo hooooooo I finally got Rubrum in the rift with 10.5 hours to go on a “one last try” 20k attempt. I really thought I’d be finishing the event without traited Loveydovey, Rubrum and whatever turns up as the last limited.
Koalas for anyone else still needing Rubrum and is awake to try over these last few hours.

Does that mean the Love Potion will just be a buyable deco next event? Or in the golden chest?
I’m sure the Love Potion decoration will be available next year. Deca will need to decide how players can obtain it. I said Petal Island is gone forever because it won’t make sense to bring it back. Players who already own the deco will have nothing when they clear the island. It'll end up being confusing.

With the floral scent from Fluffydoodle, the sun from Helianthus, and the brilliant colour of Rubrum, there was only one thing left to make Cadberry Meadows a floral sensation — blossoms. And nobody blossomed like BLOSSOM. Rarely emerging from the fabled Petal Island, Blossom is a vortex of petals, constantly swirling and scattering them like confetti at the longest wedding parade. As a result, Blossom always left a messy trail, so it was easy for Gardenia to find her. The Flower Festival dragons and Gardenia enthusiastically skipped back to Cadberry Meadows for the most spectacular floral session. The flowers flowered, the blooms blossomed, the sun shone, the air was aromatic, and the colours lept from every palette. The Vale was ready for spring.
Blossom is in the co-op greeting the day. Koala blossoms to all!
Breeding hint: DIVI + SAKURA
Incubation time: 21 hours
Habitats: Aura, earth, air, light
Contributing elements: earth, air, light
Breeding percentages: breeding hint 3.75.%; co-op clone 1%
PRO TIP: If you were not able to breed Divi (or Sakura) in the Rift, claim a twin from the Wishing Well, then select a traited twin Divi (or Sakura) from the final prize at the Love Potion Refinery!

I’m torn as to what I should do. I’m missing a traited Sakura but can get it using this tip (thanks Adlerist) buuuuut I also have a dozen other dragons that are in the final prize list that I only have one of. Everything in the gift list is a twin which would be handy next time RBC’s return to get their traiteds. I can utilise all three breeding/cloning spaces in my park.
WWDY here? Would you spend a wish for the twin then choose the traited Sakura to try for Blossom in the rift or choose one of the other gift dragons?
I’m kinda leaning towards going for a traited Blossom and catch up the others some other way. Any pearls of wisdom for those who knew about twins usefulness years before me?

I can't remember Sakura's odds off the top of my head but I personally wouldn't get a traited version with the gift if its odds are 3%+ and I'd be unlikely to if it was 2%-3%, because it's quite likely I'd just breed it before Blossom expires. What are the dragons you're considering getting twinned to make it easier to get traited versions? If they're all relatively easy to breed or show up often I wouldn't suggest getting them with the gift if you'd rather get Blossom this year.
