I’m torn as to what I should do. I’m missing a traited Sakura but can get it using this tip (thanks Adlerist) buuuuut I also have a dozen other dragons that are in the final prize list that I only have one of. Everything in the gift list is a twin which would be handy next time RBC’s return to get their traiteds. I can utilise all three breeding/cloning spaces in my park.
WWDY here? Would you spend a wish for the twin then choose the traited Sakura to try for Blossom in the rift or choose one of the other gift dragons?
I’m kinda leaning towards going for a traited Blossom and catch up the others some other way. Any pearls of wisdom for those who knew about twins usefulness years before me?
I can't remember Sakura's odds off the top of my head but I personally wouldn't get a traited version with the gift if its odds are 3%+ and I'd be unlikely to if it was 2%-3%, because it's quite likely I'd just breed it before Blossom expires. What are the dragons you're considering getting twinned to make it easier to get traited versions? If they're all relatively easy to breed or show up often I wouldn't suggest getting them with the gift if you'd rather get Blossom this year.
Thanks for your thoughts Kaleni
The sandbox says I can’t breed Sakura (I haven’t been able to get the compendium onto my computer yet) If it’s available I’d just breed for it first before trying for Blossom
The choice of end of event gift dragons are: Brutiful, Canna, Classical, Cupid’s, Glassia, Grace, Lovesick, Lovonone, Lullaby, Luminex, Mesmer. and Pricklepuff.

I can't be completely certain since I haven't tried to breed it, but I'd be incredibly surprised if Sakura wasn't breedable. That's the point why it was added to the event. The Sandbox may not have been updated. Always use the Dragonarium if unsure about availability - if Sakura currently has a green hourglass, it's breedable. I'm just logging on to DV to check. Edit: yes, it's available.
Brutiful's odds are awful, and it only shows up in the Valentine's event, so if you were to go with the other option I'd go with that.

Thanks for the tip on Brutiful’s odds and Sakura being breedable. Looks like I have a plan of action now. Much appreciated.
And I got my Sakura 5 attempts in, yay. Very happy. Now off to try get Blossom. Again much thanks Kaleni. Where would I be without this place and you all??

anyway, sorry if u don’t get the usual daily gift, but please know i didn’t forget u!
PRO TIP: If you were not able to breed Divi (or Sakura) in the Rift, claim a twin from the Wishing Well, then select a traited twin Divi (or Sakura) from the final prize at the Love Potion Refinery!

This post, on the first page of the event thread has a chart with the event breeding/cloning percentages. Under the title Breeding and cloning percentages for event dragons, there is a spoiler button, click it and you’ll see the chart. If your goal is to collect all the traited dragons, then for the final reward, choosing a dragon with a low breeding percentage would be ideal. The chart is created by UnconsciousOnion and posted on the event thread and the first page of the event thread for every event if you need it in the future.
Quil’s DV Compendium lists all the breeding percentages and is up to date. On the first post, under the title 'Introducing the Dragonvale Compendium!' there is a link to the Compendium spreadsheet. Make a copy of the spreadsheet and save it (there are directions on the thread). You can sort the dragons so only the dragons from this event show. Click on the Dragonarium tab, for the Category Type, select Compendium, and for the Category select Current Event in the drop-down menu.
Hopefully, this will be helpful for you and other players as you navigate DV and the events. Cheers!

I'm still trying to breed Blossom in the rift with no luck. But, I was very surprised when a Blossom popped out of my Epic Breeding Cave this morning. I had the reduced timer wrong in my head, so was convinced it wasn't Blossom. Was a great way to start the day. 😊

I bred an untraited Mesmer today - I was surprised it only took me like 30 tries, but sadly I specifically wanted a traited one to evolve to Mesmerus, so I'm still trying. Fingers crossed. 🤞
On a happier note though... It's the final countdown! Just 10 to go! (And when I get Brutiful, whether with the gift for by breeding, it will be 9!)
I’m a happy camper this morning. I have a Blossom incubating in my park and I bred one in the rift this morning too, dark traited - my fave. Not so happy with the 24 and 48.5 hour fails I also got in my park this morning but the two Blossoms have taken the sting out of them.

Koalas for everyone still trying for Blossom.
This event has been a challenge in the Rift. First, two traited Loveys in a week (to evolve one into Loveydovey), which for me, required breeding Lovey in the Rift three times since one was untraited (forget about the traited pedestal). Rubrum was the worst because day one resulted in an untraited Rubrum, day two resulted in an untraited Rubrum, and day three finally brought traited Rubrum. I don’t know if I’m more surprised that traited Rubrum was actually acquired or that I was able to breed three Rubrums in the Rift in three days -- likely the latter. Blossom wasn’t more encouraging. The first one was untraited, naturally. But yesterday the traited one showed up.
It's a massive relief to be done in the Rift for this event.

The beautiful Crusty brings the flowers to the Flower Festival and the blossoms to the Vale!
Thank you so very much, crusty! I have not had any luck twinning Blossom, but to no surprise, the pro-twinner does it again! Garnet gems and blooming treats have been delivered to your Vale in great awe. Many cheers!
If anybody sent a twin of a new event dragon, and I didn’t gift gems or treats, please let me know. I may not have received the twin, or the gems could have been lost in the mail. But I’d still like to send them to you. Thank you!

I found Rubrum was a last day special for me, I’m thinking of naming one of them Last Minute Harry! (don’t know if anyone else remembers that book from a loooooong time ago?) In the end I ended up with one traited and four regular ones all at the very end, no twin though.
I’m also done in the rift for new event dragons as I just got a second traited Blossom. Now to work out what I should try target in the rift for the rest of the week and which ones I should spend my leftover EC on, there’s so many I’m spoilt (or should that be overwhelmed?) for choice. Possibly Mesmer so I can evolve. Off to study the odds and come up with a plan but I’ll keep trying for a twin in the co-op until the end.
I haven't seen this noted anywhere in this thread, so here goes:
Lovey can still be evolved into a Loveydovey for 1,000 roses.
It was noted earlier that after the Petal Island disappeared, it would cost 100 gems instead of 1,000 roses. I managed to finally single-parent clone a Lovey in the Rift and can confirm that I was able to evolve it into a Loveydovey for 1,000 roses.
That means I'm pretty much done with this event. Now to start buying up Rosebud pedestals for the good DC exchange rate. Fun!

Thank you so much for this! Deca told us several times that the price to evolve Lovey would change to 100 gems after Petal Island departs. I found this highly unusual because all evolution dragons cost EC to evolve during their event. This would be the first time it costs gems. But Deca insisted it would change. I’m glad it didn’t. Thanks for the update! 😊

Oooh, this is interesting news. Makes me think I should try to single-parent clone a Lovey in the rift too so I can evolve it. What did you use to breed with your Lovey? Thank you for posting this.

I used a Dark Rift dragon to breed with my Lovey. Both level 18. After so much futility trying to breed a second Lovey with the proper parents, I didn’t have high hopes of getting one with the single-parent cloning method. Much to my surprise, it only took me a few days! 😁
Best of luck to you in your cloning attempts!

Don’t know if this will make sense but I’ll ask. Once the RBC roll around again will we be able to claim a traited Loveydovey, if we have a twin, or will we have to claim a traited Lovey first and then evolve it into a traited Loveydovey?

Yes, you will be able to claim a traited-twin Loveydovey at the RBCs if you already have a twin. You’ll need to breed Loveydovey + Loveydovey at the RBCs. Since it’s an evolution dragon, both parents need to be Loveydovey.
