This is what BFS says about Epic dragons, but I don't consider Mags to be Epics.
Due to a rift in magic, the wizards have noticed some changes in dragon breeding. Apparently, with the wild effects of the new magics coming into DragonVale, Epic Dragons bred together from the same Habitat can produce an egg with any of the combined elements.
You better make sure you gift to both. It turns out that you can only earn special rewards for each element until it appears. If we give all magic for light but dark comes first, we will get no dark rewards.
I do not believe that is correct. The messages say that the first magic to reappear will imprint on the Rift eggs you collect. I don't think it matters which Reward habitat you build on to collect your eggs.
My thoughts are that regular habitats will be available to buy when the magic returns, so if you have them all in the Light Reward habitat and Dark comes back first, you'll need to buy a Dark habitat to put them in, rather use the free one you've earned.
Just bred 2 mags from different habs, and 2 coppers from different habs and they both bred as expected. Hope they actually mean 2 separate habs, and not 2 different element habs. This could get complicated.

Is it just me, or can you zoom out farther? One of my friends has a particularly difficult park layout for finding hats, and it seems like I can see more of it at a time now.

Players will still be able to cast magic towards the remaining element to upgrade their rewards until it is also released. When both elements are released the event will then come to a conclusion

I think there's only one App Store. If I'm right, then if it's there for one it's there for all.
(1) Go to App Store and search on Dragonvale.
(2) When it comes up click on "Details".
(3) Should be listed as version 2.0.
(4) Click to download

Hmmm ... that's still not overly clear. Particularly after
"What is this? I think it's a Rift Egg. I bet that whichever element returns first will imprint on this dragon and determine its form!"

I cannot get this to load on my Kindle. I went to Manage my kindle and there is no action to upgrade. I removed it and reloaded it and I got the same old version. I searched for Dragonvale 2.0 and got the same old version. HELP!!!!

I tried going to the App Store and it only gave me the option of opening it ~ I guess because I had already purchased it? There was no update option
that happened to me too, but when I tapped on it it asked for my password, then did the upgrade.

1) What contributes towards magic? Can we start a thread on this? I want to earn the maximum everyday so need to consider what I need to do to do so I'm hoping growing beanstalks will earn a large amount, but we will have to see I guess. If we can get a compendium on this it would be very useful. As stated above, it seems that you get unique rewards for doing this (which will be unavailable after the event) so we should all work together to max our efforts in earning magic!
2) If you upgrade a shrine from silver to gold now, do you still get the 40 gems or do you only get the 1 million treats? It seems like the latter, but is anyone able to test this? I'm very glad that they are providing these rewards posthumously to those who have gilded their shrines (particularly if they paid gems), but am slighly annoyed as a couple of my shrines were only 2 or 3 dragons away from gold and if gilding them now only nets me the food rather than the food + gems, then I'll be kicking myself
Also, is there anywhere where you can see how much magic you have earned (or contributed) for the day? You can 'store' a max of 1,000, but contribute a maximum of 3,000. Is there anywhere that shows how much you have earned or contributed in total during the day? I'm also wondering when the 'day' resets - probably the same time the tree resets I guess.
This update came out slighly earlier than I had anticipated so am a bit short on dragoncash...

Just bred magnetic x magnetic on my upgraded breeding cave and got a 16 hr timer... Looks like they changed breeding rules too, because that is going to be a copper... fudge.

As usual, Amazon is the last "retailer" to release the new update They are still providing the old version. You'll have to wait for Amazon to get off their duff and release version 2.0. Amazon really supports Dragonvale poorly in terms getting major release out the door quickly.

This is the thread for all that info. We've got a couple of saved posts at the top we can put stuff like this. The main thing we know is that the first time you do everything you get the max magic, and it goes down from there.
You get the gems as a reward whenever. It's a goal now, so it's the same for everyone.
