So far, breeding like with like for epics and limiteds has given me zero successes. I have only been using them overnight between plant grinding, though.

Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...
I'm new to breeding Epics with each other. I have a Solar Eclipse about ready to hatch and i was planning to bread it with a Sun to start a collection of filled Sun habitats. The DV Wiki says this: "If a Solar Eclipse Dragon is bred with a Sun Dragon or a Moon Dragon, the result will only be a Sun Dragon or a Moon Dragon until the Solar Eclipse Dragon is available in the market again."
No longer true. Solar Eclipse + Sun has a chance to produce a Solar Eclipse even when it's out of season.
Well, that's a good thing, but there's also a chance of getting some other lesser dragon too right?
Well, no one answered my question, so I tried breeding my brand new Solar Eclipse Dragon with my Sun Dragon, hoping that I would get one of those two dragons.
I got a Storm Dragon. :/
If this is how breeding epics is now, why in the world would I even bother? I would much rather keep those Eclipse and Sun dragons in their habitat where they would at least be earning me money. Then I could just keep trying for Epics using the normal hybrid breeding routine.
I'm pretty disappointed. Now that I could finally breed something with my Sun Dragon, I thought I could finally start progressing a little faster by pumping out Epics. I guess this game only has one speed now. Painfully slow.

Sorry your question got missed, it happens sometimes.
Sun+Solar Eclipse can produce Storm, Snow, Sonic, Hail, Thunder, Blizzard, Solar Eclipse and Sun/Moon depending on the time bred.
So, yes, the guaranteed offspring of the past is gone. There is much testing to do yet, but it so far it seems you will have better odds for an epic, but it may take awhile to get it. Testing will pick up again when the need for magic slows down a bit more and we'll get some better ideas of how the new rules are really working.

Thank you.
So is everyone okay with this change? It really does make things harder for us newer players, who don't already have a pile of Epic dragons.

I have always gone for two so I can breed for the egg later, so the change slows me down a bit. Otherwise it doesn't bother me, I rarely breed for profit, never made an island of solar eclipses for cash. I think the amount of effect it has on your game is how you play it. For me, it's not a big deal. I know I can still get the egg, it just might take me longer. Plus I have been lucky in my breeding so far and have a least one (most are two) of every dragon.
There are others that are not cool with change to the point they quit. And many that don't like it, but will stick it out. You just have to adjust your thinking about how the game needs to be played.
Only have about 4,000 more magic to finish out the Dark side, so am thinking can pretty much coast without much grinding to max it out. So, when I have time - what would you like to see tested?
EDIT: Requests: various Seasonals - percentages of expired/current dragons
Is it possible to get a Rift Dragon by breeding Rift + Light? Sorry if this has been asked a couple of thousand times, I'm just too lazy to read through the whole forum. It's about midnight here and I... need... to... sleep...
Hmm, wonder if I will be able to get my second light rift dragon by breeding light rift + dark rift then. I really hope so. I was 400 magic from second egg :/

Maybe.
Whole lot of unknowns at the moment:
- I assume it will be possible if they breed like Epic Limited Dragons, however...
- LRift currently acts a lot like a primary Light dragon. If the DRift Dragon is just like a primary Dark dragon, then the two of them probably will not be able to Breed since they would be opposites.
- However, if Drift shows up and they both suddenly become Light/Dark type hybrids, then I assume you will be able to breed them together and have a chance to produce LRift and DRift clones. Actually, in those circumstances it may even become possible to breed them with normal Light/Dark type dragons and produce Rift Dragons. The theory there is that you can't currently breed them because Dark hasn't returned yet, so they are essentially out of season until it does. The only reason you can get one currently with LRift + LRift would be the Cloning rules...
I could be totally dumb about this, but with Limited Dragons like the previous Lunar Eclipse and the now available Solar Eclipse, if you breed those two out of their windows can you still get those two dragons from that combination? I know the old rules allowed me to breed a Blue Moon and Equinox and I got a second Blue Moon out of its window. But it seems like I am now with breeding 2.0 I just keep getting Airs from my first combo. I am up to 5 Air. In the sandbox I put in Lunar and Solar and it spits out a multitude of hybrids and no where on the list does it just say Air. I was a bit surprised when I used my upgaded cave and the time was less than 2 hours. When the sandbox said the shortest was 6.5 or so.

H llacey, welcome to the forum! The air result was the result of a now-fixed bug, where Lunar Eclipses contributed air to the combo. This has now been changed.
Breeding Lunar and Solar should now give the expected results from the sandbox, with a chance to get either epic.
