What I meant to say was...those 40 people on my list most are working adults, have a job, pay taxes, and can easily plunk down the $10+ for the island. They are long time, active DV players, however only 8 committed to purchase the island.
See? How long that thought was? So I choose to condensed my thought to just one sentence.
Just want to add my number to Poppy's stat. My sample size is small, but it speaks volume.
I think we all got it the first time. It's just a case of wilful tergiversation.
I.e., deep down, we all want to be "Dragonvale Professionals".
One of the joys of the English language is the multi layering of words and meanings. An " innocent" turn of phrase can be made to turn at right angles simply by a deliberate misinterpretation. This is, in part, the source of the enjoyment in puns, cryptic crosswords, double entendres, the Goons, and for that matter, Shakespeare.
Please do make sure it happens again.
I just realize I yap a lot, approximately 3.5 yap/day since I join the forum. New motto, "yap less, listen more".
Buffy - If it hadn't been for this conversation, I would never have known that English is not your native language. You "yap" very well!

Well there's gotta be a balance between the yappers and the listeners. For example, I'm a good listener (self-proclaimed) but a terrible yapper. I appreciate hearing (reading?) peoples thoughts.
Agreed. if no one yapped, there'd be no reason for me to keep coming back to read! And then I'd yap less too due to nothing to "pile on" to.

English, obviously, and Spanish as well, but your username is German.
I've seen you bust out words in several other languages... and I seem to recall that you work/worked as a translator...
Six and a half. The Arabic's a problem because bilinguals instinctively insist on making things easier on themselves. I'm easier to talk to in any of the other six, and chances are native speakers in the cities have at least one of them. I don't get to travel too rural.
And I'm still translating and interpreting. But this is getting a bit OT, so soonisher closed, I'm okay with that.

Oh no, don't worry about it! I thought it was intentional. My opinion is that anyone who can speak/write in more than one language is absolutely amazing. I certainly wouldn't be able to join in and contribute to a whole forum of discussions if it wasn't in English.

Buffy, your English is just fine!
And that stat is very interesting, I think. I'll add another observation: My best friend, who go into Dragonvale about a day after I did and who has never particularly hesitated to buy gems, did not choose to buy eggs for the island. And she, like Poppy, is typically a completist, and has never missed getting ANYTHING in game.
She had no problem with the idea that there was an item that you couldn't get without a purchase. Like me, and others, it was the actual amount she balked at, along with the vague approach to calculating that cost that was the only mechanism we had to work with. Had BFS simply offered the island to purchase at $5 upfront, we'd both have bought it, and I'm willing to bet more of all our DV friends would have too.
So it will be interesting to see what happens with the next event!

Unlimited amount of dragons. Well up to your habitat limit that is. He could have an entire park of silvers if he wanted. Or panlongs or rainbows or gold olys.
Ha. That's not what I meant. Was dripping sarcasm in that post. Didn't make it through the sarco filters I guess. I think if he wanted a park full if silvers he would have anything but. He has officially missed out on diamond. Tried all the way down to the wire.

I agreed. DV is the only game, so far, that holds my interest this long. This forum, its members, we all share the same denominator; little things that happen here that add extra flavors to just breeding, and raising dragons. And that is how GD got his nom nom, tasty, spicy, and crispy dragon meats.
I thought about DV2, if it does happen, and unless a bunch of us decided to play and we begin the new game as a group...then I am gladly be part of the group. Else, I wouldn't, w/ 100% certainty,
Kiyoji21 - *stern looks* for that last name thingy.
Hope everyone had fun during the event and are enjoying their prizes and rewards!
Most of us did. Did you? A penny for your thought.
I am glad you enjoyed the event. I also enjoyed the event. It was a nice change of pace. Of course with everything it had its good parts and its "not ideal" parts, but overall I really enjoyed it and the prizes/rewards.

Was happy to have something to do other than level up dragons. Hard to get everything perfect all the time. Am sure BFS is taking all the suggestions into consideration.
I had a great time playing the event but the rewards of the 2 Ovalith Dragon was enough for me. I am going through pains to get the 2nd Arbor for an egg display, with many moss/tree fails.. and now two new gem dragons to try for since I don't have enough gems~
here is my island, decided to make it another breeding island.. posting it here before the thread goes to the archives.
Hope everyone has a great weekend, wishing much luck getting those dragons!!
