I like that we don't have to grind out bushes for eggs, but the math to enable getting to 4000 eggs before the end of the event without purchasing with real money doesn't seem to be there. That will be really annoying if you have to spend real money to get all of the rewards. One of the things I most like about Dragonvale is that while it is challenging, you can get everything in the game without spending real money.

Agreed. I'm glad to see this event, and I can't say I really miss grinding of any kind, but I won't be happy if the only way to max out rewards is to spend real cash.
Still, nice to have a new challenge of any kind. I finally bred my last Snoly display egg yesterday, so I was starting to get bored. LOL!

Word from the Wiki is that each object is only worth 2 magic eggs, no matter how expensive to clear.
And appears to be capped also, as I have cleared a couple of trees etc without getting eggs.
Hoo boy. If that's the case, I won't bother with the last few trees & boulder piles on the most recent island. I'll just keep developing around them until I really need the space.
Just swept my islands (about 3 hours since the last round of habitat sweeping) and got ZERO eggs. Wondering if that caps out too?

I wonder if the cap is more like the 6 hour window for getting a gem prize in the races. I had an initial spurt of eggs from collecting DC, which tapered off. Then I was away from my park for a few hours, came back and had another spurt of eggs. But not sure if this means more than 40 eggs a day,because i didn't get up to 40 in the first batch. Also, I've only gotten eggs from my sweep if the habitat is at least a third full and has the gold chest. Collecting from habitats without the chest yielded no eggs.

I *think* I just got a few more eggs from collecting DCs. I went back into one of my parks to send out gems and clicked on treasure chests. I was fairly certain I had maxed out already but ended up with 8 more eggs. Either they reset (after 4-5 hours) or I miscounted first time around. I will pay closer attention tomorrow
Btw, has anyone gotten eggs from collecting DC when the treasure chest was not showing?

The eggs aren't actually hidden, you just have to play normally and you will receive eggs, as long as you have downloaded the new update from the app store. For tips on which activities generate eggs, go to the first post in this thread.

By the way, I noticed that when I gifted around 80 eggs toward the pedestal prize, half of the purple egg design on the vernal glass became colored. So it looks like you might have an indicator marking half-way for each prize. The dragon shapes we noticed on the pre-release teaser will probably light up for the dragon prizes, the random sections at the top probably light up for the habitat, and the bottom probably lights up for the island. I wonder if it only shows the half-way mark for the larger prizes or if there might be quarter markers, etc.

I agree, I'm glad there is no grinding! It's Spring, and if I'm going to plant bushes I want them outside where I can enjoy them for years to come. On the other hand, I too like that you don't have to spend money to enjoy the game. It is one of the first things my daughter tells friends about the game. Let's hope this isn't another BFS change in policy. Unfortunately, the message for the Lost Island worries me. It says, "If you find and buy enough Magic Eggs, the Wizards will work their magic and keep this island in your park permanently!"
Let's hope that there'll be double egg weekends to help us hit that quota! I'm considering making a purchase to buy some eggs, but the highest I'll go is the $9.99 purchase, which I'm not even sure will be enough to get me the Lost Island. I'll hold off until we're reaching the last days of the event.
Since one of the ways of finding eggs is to clear islands, I'm starting to save up for my tenth island. But I'm only at 3 million DC now, so I don't know if I'll even be able to make enough to get the tenth island before this Egg event ends.
It feels like if BFS has an announced end date (although I wonder if we should expect an extension), they should probably not have such a low ceiling of how many eggs we can earn daily.

I just noticed that description too. I don't think it bodes well for our chances to earn out all six prizes without paying out real cash.
Just did my third habitat sweep tonight with zero eggs from any of the DC chests. That too does not bode well.
