Speaking about expensive ... What are your guesses the exchange rate for your unused candies will be in treats ?
1000 food:1 candy
I hope not. That means 1500 candies would equate to only 1.5m food only enough to feed one dragon from level 17 to 18 which for me would not be worthwhile and also poor value as you would have just missed out on a theme which cost 250 gems. Bearing that in mind I would expect 1500 candies to be about 25 m food roughly 15000 food for 1 candy
I was helping my son get his last candies from treats, and noticed that his spooky theme is no longer on the event island, like he already has it, but he hasn't. Anyone else have this problem? It is still there on both my parks.
Well Buffy, originally, halloween is a celtic tradition, celts used to live in ireland, cornwall, scotland and french Britany. Was of course linked to the cult of the death which has been taken over by christianity, The 2nd of november being devoted to remembering those who left this world. Thus, the origins are europeans. However the way it turned into halloween, including all the commercial stuff, costumes, candies etc etc was first born in the states. It took quite a while until it crossed the pond back to Europe. Shops are allways interested in new sources of business. But halloween does not have the dimension it has in the States I think, it remains marginal here. And shops have already put up all the Xmas stuff since two weeks, so there is only a small corner with halloween stuff.
Don't forget us. Iberia, the ancient homeland (if you believe the "Book of the Yellow Cow"). Where old Lug left his cauldron (Lugo). Before the great Westward Wandering, anyway.
Problem with "seeing" the old Celtic nation is a lot of water between the remnants. Still, a lot of Irish wander into the former territories testing their Gaelic because it jives will with Galego (they talk in Gaelic, the locals answer in Galego and everyone understands each other).
I acquired my spooky theme this morning! It arrived as a gift in my social menu. When I clicked to receive it, it was added to my pool of available themes. Just click on a portal to access it.

Lying on the couch, talking to the shrink...
Me: "Doc, trying to figure out why I've been playing DragonVale for over three years now is tough enough. But this one is a real stumper. Why was I so utterly compelled to get enough candy corn to get a Spooky Theme when I don't even like or use themes?"
Doctor: "Interesting. Tell me more about your father's distinquished achievements."

I think I'm going to come up just short of getting the Spooky Theme. If I had spent gems everyday, I would have gotten it easily. Oh well. At least I'll get a lot of treats (hopefully).

I think it will be a sliding scale based on your level. It will be marked down heavily on the conversion rate of gems to food at your level
In previous events you bought prizes at 1:1 gems to prizes. But you then sold at 5:1 prize to gems. So look at your conversion rate gems—> food. Then divide that by 5 for candy—> food.

Just making sure... But the double candies technically can last for four cycles right? Even though they end a day before the event does?
Three cycles, but there seems to be an exploit where you can stretch it out to 4 by leaving your park open and avoiding visiting as this resets your park.

I got my spooky theme today. Now I am in no rush, but still collecting candies so that I can get some treats. Let's wait and see how many.
Really happy with my gorgeous avatar by ElektronX! GCID: Andr3i4 Any and all friends for Cooperative Breeding are welcome. Gladly accepting any twins also.
Since this event about to come to an end, I have been making some what frequent trip to my aunt's house. I wanted for her to get at least one Nosferatu. I have official handed her park back to her since she got a new phone. To my surprise she did real well, considering that she does not have any friends, nothing has been upgraded in her park, highest Lvl dragons are 16...she should have her 2nd Nosferatu today.

Could you expand on this please ie how does your level matter ? How would the calculation work with 1500 candies in a level 60 park?
