Has anyone else noticed the different mindset of playing during events and sans events? I was just looking at my Monoliths breeding in the cave and saw only 2 hours left. All set to speed them up, then remembered I don't get magic eggs, so I should wait to build up my gems. Also, during events I only sell or hatch eggs out of the nursery as I need them for magic eggs or need the room to finish a breeding. Now it doesn't matter, I can hatch, sell, or display as they finish. I was growing treats, and found myself growing Zazzberries. I usually grow Dragon Fruit when there isn't an event. No need to start a quest or be looking for eggs. I find it a little unsettling to be constantly changing my way of playing. I've always wondered why BFS says we can find magic currency as we play normally.
Yes, it does give a definite change to game play.
Btw, I kept some stats when I started questing, and it's definitely worth keeping on with that, the food rewards are well worth the time.
Something like 1.7M entry cost, 1.2M in 'lost' earnings for the dragons while they were questing, 2.5M DC won (so a slight loss there) and 12M DC worth of food returned.
Very happy with the event all in all. I managed to achieve all the prizes, got a bonus of 12M treats and had a lot of fun with all the exchange here. Thank you all!

What level dragons were you using? That would affect your 'lost' earnings.

2nd event fail with regard to breeding an Ovalith, as well as a loss of 1100 gems by speeding up breeding and incubation. Now to wait for the holidays..... On the other hand, I got all of the rewards (thank you gem buddies!) and 8mil treats! Quite successful
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890
Level your dragon up, more DC, more treats. Long term investment.

- Treatery - 3 new buddies right there, more ME. It's pretty. I position quite nicely on one of my island, I love to see the smoke coming out of the chimney, sorta hidden behind the tall trees. I very much hold one treat back till the very end.

I was thinking just that. The final rewards are usually awesome. And I loved the Relic too. It's great to be able to level epic dragons up to 15. It's just awkward that some of the turbo babies are really huge. The gold baby dragon, for example, is quite disproportionate at level 15.

I can't help but thinking that, as pastel as Easter eggs are, the final two rewards are both quite subdued.
I was really disappointed when I saw the souvenir event gift. I was looking forward to a mini version of the completed Burcadian Monolith, because those eggs were so lovely.
Another reason why I don't like these events is because it's one and done. I miss the new characters and the event island decorations.
I have been away recently, and I'm very happy to be back! And my park has been dragon sitted by one of the best keepers around! And it was free of charge too! I now not only have my mono 2, but also another of both mono 1 and two and I also have a lapis! Wow Buffy, what a lifesaver you are! This is a reply to everything that has happened whilst I have gone, and once again, it me thanking you all!
In regarding to jamesvaler's acct - As of this morning Jv was 272 eggs away from the 2nd Mono.

Buffy, I assume we are back to the 120 egg limit for gifts after doubles which means if 120 come in from gifts then you will need to find, uncover, scrounge, and hunt down 152 more. He was sure he had missed out on the second Monolith, I'd love to see him get it. Koala!

He didn't specify his regular gem buddies, and he has quite a long list of friends. I will gift gems to those with lower park level because
- he loves to help people - he would want to pass on the loving, helping, and caring spirits of our members.
Just another reason for your gem shower! You did an amazing job, and I didn't tell you my gem buddies, coz i wanted you to choose! During events, I normally stop doing my "normal" schedule, and help the lower parks in particular! So what you have done was perfect!

Nope, just 4 days! Great trip, and as you can tell, I'm back! Lovely and sunny, had a great time relaxing, but nice to be back in my park! And Buffy also left me my first lapis too! Definitely a saint! I would like to call you to join me in nominating Buffy for this gem shower!

I'm back from holiday, and as suspected was unable to access DV abroad, even with free WiFi. So, no relics in either park, and I just managed to scrape Monolith 2 just before the Channel Tunnel. So my completeist parks are no more... And a new event already is under way and I am behind.
Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...

I thought I didn't care about missing the relic, but after seeing Buffy's islands with the stars above the dragons' heads, I am rethinking this. With the way these events are coming thick and fast, I don't think gem hoarding is going to happen. I'm about even after each event. And I really don't like the speed these events are happening.
