I seem to have a 'dead spot' on my last park expansion. I can't place anything in this area - circled in the picture below. Does anyone else have this issue? I wrote to BFS, but I haven't heard back yet.
Hey, Cyn! Just wanted to give you a shout out for your practice of keeping your store stocked with affordable goods! You obviously intend this to help your friends since you never advertise, so I wanted to thank you for all the help it gave me in my early game! I now only use your store for emergency purchases to give other newbies a shot at your goodies, but it was invaluable to me when I didn't have much dragon cash or a good variety of gatherers! Thank you, thank you!

I did pretty well at essence collection, earning an extra airship's worth almost every day. I had enough to get all the prizes (including all eggs) except for the Enchanted dragons with almost 10000 to spare. I didn't have a lot of luck breeding the enchanteds, though, finally getting an EnNorth over 3/4ths of the way through the event. I then managed to breed an EnEast in the final day after blowing almost my entire gem nest egg, but EnSouth and EnWest eluded me with the final few gems I had remaining. After buying the uniques plus an extra exploration habitat to display all my normals and my two enchanteds, I was left with 16013 essence. So then I had a choice to make: buy all the remaining egg prizes with almost 10000 left over (which was not enough to buy either of the dragons), or buy an EnSouth for 16000 with only 13 left over. I opted to buy the EnSouth and wait for a future opportunity to get the eggs (and the EnWest). So I ended up with three of the four enchanteds and filled the remaining slot in the habitat with one of my extra Hieroglyph dragons. I'm extremely confident they'll offer us another shot at the missing dragons and eggs in the future (c'mon, it's BFS!).
I'm happy with my decision. I'd have been annoyed to leave almost 10000 essence on the table even if they do convert to food the way it does in original DV.

It's pretty rough that we no where have to use Facebook for the game, but to be fair to BFS, they had GC worked out, and then apple ditched it, leaving DV developers to scratch their chin, so I guess this is their best temporary fix for that. They are, according to BFS, working on having an in-game friending system so that Facebook is not required, but this is quite difficult, I understand, so they cannot tell us when this will be ready, and will most likely take a few months at the very minimum.
Actually, Apple has not abandoned GC, rather they've changed it from a service with a supporting app into a pure service. Since the app is gone, GC games must now handle friend requests on their own. This had the side effect of binding a new GC friend link to each subscribing game individually (so that a friend request in game A wouldn't create an associated friend link in game B). Having reviewed the API, which generates the friend request as an iMessage and is actually quite simple, I'm surprised (and a bit disappointed) that BFS hasn't just done the work to make the friend request. My guess is that doing so is somehow incompatible with the friending plans they have going forward.

Hmmm, I noticed that the new Iceberry meter drained itself to zero without me having to reset my park (by leaving/re-entering). That may mean that the days of extended doubles are behind us...
Why? That's how it always was.
The collection total resetting without requiring a park reload is why the trick works at all.
I hope you're right (that's why I said it "may" mean that). It's just that as a developer I know that we tend to shy away from changing code modules unless we really have to (to fix a breaking bug or to add a new feature). Once the decision is taken to open a code module for modification it becomes much easier to justify fixing non-breaking bugs or to tweak inefficiencies. It comes down to how tolerant they are of the issue (as I've noted elsewhere, developers sometimes actively code exploits into games as a reward for observant/dedicated players; if this is the case they will probably never fix it). If the extended doubles issue is one that they have been intending to fix then they may have simply been waiting until an opportune time to address it. Adding new progress bar code that kicks in during event daily reset might have given them that opportunity.

The max level is 90 now, isn't it? I haven't been getting XP added : my XP bar is staying empty. I am level 85. Is anyone else seeing this? EDIT: I am holding off buying the 10,000,000,000 island until this is sorted out :-)
It takes a LOT of XP to move the bar if you're high level. Feeding a high level dragon gets you lots of XP quickly. Do that a few times and you should see your bar start to fill.

Ok Jubileers (is that a word?), I have added my Iceberry collection guide to the first page of this thread. This guide will help you maximize your collected Iceberries so you can buy MORE STUFF THAN YOU HAVE ROOM FOR ON YOUR ISLANDS!
Note that this was adapted from previous Frostival events and not everything has been verified yet this year (I will correct the guide if the Frosty Jubilee deviates from years past). If you note anything incorrect, please let me know.

We need an "I feel your pain" thumb because giving a "thumbs up" to this kind of post just feels wrong, even though you just want to acknowledge it, not gloat about it .
(honest, the thumbs up I gave you means "I feel your pain")

Coordinating over the world market is pretty tedious. I think both me and Cyn can attest to that. Even in pre-release, we'd have to reload the market dozens of times before we would see the other's specific listing.
Though it's certainly possible. You just have to advertise leper items that nobody ever would want to buy (10-stack of Sigil Stone at max price should do it), and when the other person stumbles upon your listing and uses it to enter your market, you can start putting up the good stuff, un-advertised.
It's much easier with friends... and at that point, you can use Facebook Messenger to coordinate.
I'm assuming the strategy with the leper sale is only necessary if you are NOT friends with the trader (since finding a friend's store is directly supported)? Edit: Although, with so many people playing now it might be VERY difficult to find a specific store you're not friends with!
Perhaps the store latency is fixed now they've gone into full release... has anybody tried recently?
I don't use FB for gaming (all my friends are legacy GameCenter) so I'd still need to coordinate through PMs here.
I use the third adventure as the overage. I think it gives you 250.
Does this work? I read somewhere that the adventures don't count toward overage since they can still be used after the cap for treats, so I haven't actually tried it...

Turns out there's already a thread for this (which I didn't realize until I looked into creating one!). Follow the purple path.
We should start posting requests over there. Timing could get tricky though. Fletch touches on the difficulty of trading to a known user in a public store in the first post. Requesters should post about a need (item / count / deadline BFS Time) and then fulfillers could offer to help. At that point the two traders should probably coordinate the time for the trade (maybe via PM to avoid spamming the thread) to minimize exposure on the store. Items are harder to find if they aren't advertised, but I've had items sell even when there aren't any adverts at all (probably to friends since as far as I know there's no way for a random shopper to find your store unless you have at least one advert active).
Edit: Forgot to mention, I did get lucky and find some petrified water on the store, but it took much longer than most other resources!
What's the largest "overage collection" to maximize the daily ME total if the airship isn't an option? Unfortunately my current airship wants petrified water. I can't gather any since I don't yet have Kaiju, and I haven't even seen any on the Trading Post (and rare stuff disappears so quickly that I don't have much hope of getting any), and my schedule today and tomorrow makes it difficult to let the current airship expire and hope for the best on the next one

The last update apparently broke gift-bearing visitors. If you visit a friend's park, when you get back a bunch of visitors will appear. Sometimes the gem tiger will be one of them
But I dont have any friends :/ (that sounded soooo sad )
Unfortunately GameCenter friending is broken else I would add you . I'm not sure of the current state of Facebook friending (I don't game through Facebook), maybe someone else can weigh in here with some thoughts? The downside to Facebook is that you do have to reveal more personal info than some folks are comfortable with (although you can tighten your security to minimize that).
Since I started the game with existing GameCenter friends it didn't even occur to me that DVW apparently doesn't even have Nogard as a demo friend.

Has anybody else seen the "stuck friend gift" problem? A couple weeks ago I had a friend (Hi Gypsy !) that kept sending me gifts but never collected my gift, making it impossible for me to reciprocate. The way the gifting mechanic works in DVW this should be impossible since the Send button doesn't become available until your friend collects the last gift you sent. I contacted BFS Support and they replied that they "reset" Gypsy's inbox, after which I was able to resume gifting her.
I'm getting a bit worried because I have a growing number of friends who now never seem to clear their gifts, making me think the problem is more widespread. I'm just not sure because I myself will leave gifts uncollected until I have rotated through my friend list (as a bookkeeping technique to ensure I return every gift) and it's probable many of my friends are doing the same... but for many, many days at a time?
