What the heck?!? I didn't get doubles for my first round of collecting even though I specifically killed my app and restarted it after reset. Killed it again after I saw your post and now I have them. Thanks wizards.

Hi everybody! I am continuing to be slammed at work and have only been able to get onto the forum a couple times in the last few weeks. I'm currently in between meetings and only have a few minutes (so no time to catch up on all the threads I've missed). Have we come to a consensus about the best breeding plan for the event dragons? Is it possible to breed all 5 from a certain 2 or must we have at least 3 before we can breed all (and which 2 or 3)?
I normally like to figure all this stuff out for myself but I'm struggling to even max out and bank eggs this time because I'm so busy, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Skitch , based on my calculations I think there's actually no way to breed all 5 of the event dragons if you only have 2; you'll need 3 at least. But if you can get Marbletail from the Rotunda of Rewards, then you'll only need to purchase 2 of the event dragons. I made a post listing the possible sets of 2 you can purchase to get all 5 with the free Marbletail:
Chrysalis + Duskwing = no offspring but both can breed with Marbletail (Lacewing and Swallowtail) - This is the cheapest pair at 16990, and they're in Tiers 2 & 3, so they'll be available earlier. The drawback with this pair is that you can't unlock new dragons until you get the Marbletail from the Rotunda of Rewards.
Duskwing + Swallowtail = Chrysalis; Duskwing can breed with Marbletail (Lacewing) - If you can get access to Tier 4 early enough, this might be a good way to start breeding and unlocking more of the dragons before you get the Marbletail (which is 2 weeks away for those who are caught up at the Rotunda). This pair costs 17990.
Chrysalis + Lacewing = Duskwing; Chrysalis can breed with Marbletail (Swallowtail) - Same as above, but slightly more expensive at 18490.
Thanks rion, exactly what I was looking for!

Just heard one of the best tips ever! Basically this is a way to get doubles even after doubles weekend ends! What you have to do is go onto auto lock and click never. Then when the doubles weekend is scheduled to finish, stay in the game over that reset time. The game will reset sot hat you can reach a new cap, but you will still be earning doubles. You will not be able to visit another park or reload the game, so you have to be in the game the whole time. Becuase this takes a LOT of power up (constantly being in the game that is), you may want to charge your device. I'm gonna try this next doubles weekend. If you don't want to spend all that time in your park, you could just spend that extra time ensuring that you are gifting people doubles when it's not doubles still!
Hmmph! You didn't read my Frostival tutorial very closely! That's covered in the "Exploits" section!

Ugh, due to extreme work pressures I am unable to get into the forum very often right now. Forgot about the tricksy wizards sometimes springing doubles on us the first weekend, missed the discussion on the forum last night, and sent out my gifts yesterday.
Sorry gift-buddies, will try to do better

How annoying! Kairos was only a few hours away from another reset when his birthday celebration ended. Instead of keeping the countdown to his next reset he got the usual several days tacked back on!

ARRRGGH! I just hatched my Double Leap Year this morning! My Dragonarium sparkled for all of an hour and a half...
I'm 100% convinced that the refrigerator in the BFS employee lounge has a SkitchWatch Milestone chart and a New Dragon Release Schedule with little lengths of yarn connecting them. Each little length of yarn has a lol, rofl, or roflmao sticker on it...
Wanna hear MY conspiration theory? It's a BFS ploy to keep us from sparkling. It's done to create jobs in an otherwise happy world where people would be useless unless they're stressing other people, so they get paid to do it.
Make sense?
But how can that theory be true? It doesn't involve me!

I believe roses should stash. I collect my gifts only after I reach daily limit. All roses remain in bank.
I meant to say I forgot to collect my gifts last night. I reached my daily limit this morning before reset but wasn't sure what to do so I didn't collect any gifts. I guess I missed my gifts for a day?
As dragonrus has pointed out, you haven't really missed anything. From a gameplay perspective there isn't a strong reason to collect gems and treats every day unless you intend to actually use them right away (to speed up a breeding or to level up a dragon for instance). If you don't need to use them immediately you can let them hang out in your Gift tab until it's convenient to collect them. Having said that, however, there are some practical reasons for keeping your Gift tab tidy: we have seen that Dragonvale can get in trouble if too many items are kept in Gifts, particularly on older devices. If you have lots of twins waiting or lots of banked gifts from your thousands of friends ( ) you might want to clean things up to prevent those kinds of issues. Otherwise, just collect whenever it suits your play style.
I blue-hearted a Dodo for you! I'll try to keep it up until you let me know you've succeeded!
hhmm
Sorry, buffy, my Dodo escaped his enclosure and I caught him in the fridge eating leftover lasagna. He's back now and I'll try to keep a closer eye on him

Yeesh. I've been breeding for the Frostival dragons I missed (Lace and Ornamental) nonstop in the CBC. I finally got Lace day before yesterday and just now bred an 18 hour dragon after moving the Lace to the nursery. The only other possibility besides Ornamental is Bramble, so fingers crossed!
Also: apologies for my scarcity around the forum lately, work got real this year!

Here's my game board today. Please let us know if yours matches.
No match. I'm pretty sure the only reason the first game matched for everybody is to ensure the tutorial would have a guaranteed first match (so no special code required other than the standard "tap here" logic). From then on we're pure RNG.

Ugh, I have my head down with approaching deadlines at work and, despite knowing yesterday that this was going to start today, still did not get adequately prepped. Foolishly sent out gifts last night, forgot to start a round of treats for harvesting at event start, forgot to fill my nursery with stored twins (all my breeding areas are currently on long fails) for hatching rewards, forgot to log in at event start and synchronize my coliseum... I feel like a n00b!

Except the goal is still there but "hidden" (as evidenced by the fact that you used to be able to satisfy a goal even if it didn't appear in the list of active goals when you cloned a goal dragon out of season). As a completist who wants all goals gone, this raises my hackles!
My apologies good sir!
I'm only a level 11 Completist, but I've nearly got enough XP to level up to 12th!
I forgot that upon reaching level 18 you unlock the ability to be annoyed by things you can't even see perceive, BUT KNOW ARE THERE!!!
One day, I aspire to reach your great heights.
Truly your abilities are the stuff of legend...
Listen, youngster, I'm even annoyed by not completing things that BFS developers thought about adding but never got around to!

...and BTW, thanks a lot for adding goals for dragons we already had BFS
You mean free gems? Yes please!
The goals will probably vanish once BEB is over anyhow...
