Can't help but think it is an oversight. I don't get why it is not part of BeB? Tidal was also an exclusive event dragon, and is now part of BeB.
It's probably because it was introduced during this event and they want people to feel pressure to buy an event-focused dragon using event currency, not just wait a bit to get it during BeB. It will probably become normally available during the next BeB.

A note on banked berries, it appears we are unable to use them. I collected my gifts at the end, and they all disappeared.
Banked berries were collected by BFS automatically (and silently) and added to your total (thereby disappearing from your Gifts menu). You weren't required (or even able) to collect them manually after the collection phase ended. If you weren't paying close attention to how many you had in your wallet, you may not have noticed. Since I was tracking all my totals carefully I can confirm that all banked berries appeared automatically in my wallet.

I can't decide if I should buy the Spooky habitat for 500 gems. Seems foolish, but I've been considering it (I have 1350).
I've had no luck with the BEB and my Dragonarium will never sparkle again, because I can't seem to breed the Eridinian (I know I spelled that wrong). Ugh.
Chin up! Eridanian is breedable after BEB and the fails won't be so heinous then!

PSA: Don't rely on the Prize tent's report of what items you have already bought! I bought the Flicker and Verglace dragons and the prize tent started reporting that I already have one each of the pedestals as well. The Dragonarium correctly reports that I don't yet have those pedestals. This might just be a glitch while the dragons are in the Nursery, but make sure you've bought the dragons and pedestals you want before spending your leftovers on lamps and benches!

Dang it, they changed the Snowflake event habitats. Now you can't buy the original one anymore if you have the upgraded version already.
Are you kidding me?!? I specifically waited to upgrade to be sure both were allowed because I wanted to have the reward one in its original form. BFS is giving me more and more reasons to quit.

Have you checked DV's FB page to see if anyone has asked the question, and how BFS reply? I don't have Ornament, and think of skipping it altogether.
I can't view their FB page anymore whether I am at work, home, or on the iPad...
Meh, I can't find any explicit answer on their Facebook, but they did have one generic response to complaints about the event dragons:
Hey guys, thanks for all your feedback on these two dragons. We'd like to remind everyone that these two dragons are Epic and can be bred using the Coop Cave. Also, the Dazzling Dragon is available in the Mystery Giftery. We hope you take advantage of all the different options to collect them all! Happy collecting!
I suppose the optimistic interpretation of that reply is that the Ornamentals will continue to be breedable after they leave the prize tent

How confident are we that the new dragons will follow normal Epic cloning rules? In other words, will they behave like normal Epics and allow us to breed them with a friend's dragon in the CBC or are there new breeding rules lurking about that will make Ornamental and Lace unbreedable after they leave the prize tent tomorrow? I'm having miserable luck with these two dragons!
Any insight appreciated!

I got a Panlong when I already have fifty that I plan to sell… And Loot, Delirium, Comet and Eridanian are still on my wish list. A bit disappointed but well… parcels are a great surprise and a real relief!
Since those are all Epics you may get one in the next surprise gift.
While I applaud their apparent effort to find and gift us a dragon we need, I wish they had taken it a little further and looked for the dragon we have fewest of if they couldn't find a suitable one. I, too, got a Panlong when I already have far too many . It would have been nice to get a second dragon for those I currently only have one of.

I managed to breed one Holly but ended up buying the egg to get it off my plate.

I have a request for clarification on using the ice arena to bank points in excess of the daily cap. I was fairly certain in the last event that if you started your last arena match before the Iceberry reset, but forgot to collect it until after, the 100 points would not be banked, but would go to the new days max total. Since the current event started, it seems like that is either not the case or there has been a recurring glitch. I have twice forgotten to collect before 11A BFS time, and upon collecting a few minutes late, I have gotten the notice that "I have reached the daily max..." and those berries have been banked. As if, the start time determines to which day's max the iceberries will be credited. (or possibly the ready to collect time).
The important thing to remember is that it doesn't matter when you start the Arena, just when you collect it (you can actually leave the arena uncollected for several days and it will go into whatever day you ultimately try to collect). If you're still under your daily limit then collecting the Arena will simply go into the current day's wallet. If you're above the limit (or just near it), excess arena winnings will be banked.
Since you got the "reached the daily max" message, I'm guessing you were in your park when Iceberry reset occurred and the game didn't realize it. It's a good idea to cause a park reset after 11:00 AM BFS if you want to ensure everything is correctly reset (this is particularly important if doubles have started since your park will still be working under the non-doubles condition until it is reloaded).
ETA: I see that vonfirmath has sometimes noticed a several minute lag between Iceberry reset and the game registering the new conditions. I haven't experienced this personally, but the good ol' intertubes are constantly subject to weird latency issues, so I can easily see this happening. Perhaps this is what happened to you.
