Hi everyone, quite often I don’t get doubloons when I collect from habitats, I wait until the little chest is showing and occasionally I get doubloons as well as coins but usually not, is this normal or is it me?
At the start of the day you will get a lot of doubloons when you collect from your habitats, and this will slow down as the day progresses. It is quite normal. :-)
There is an event currency collection cap on habitats of 500 on normal days and 1000 on double days.
Rifted dragons can be pulled immediately and donated. If they are twins or ghostly dragons you have to pull to the nest to hatch first and then donate. You also can’t automatically clear runic cave choices or gifts from DECA. They also must be sent to the nest to either sell, keep or donate.
My rifted dragons from runic caves do not have the option to donate. My rifted reward dragons do.
That is unusual. I would have thought all eggs from the social menu would be able to be donated. Perhaps this has never been implemented as a lot of players that obtain a rifted egg from the Runic Caves tend to keep them.
I have a request: Could they *please* reset the prices of the special Mystery Eggs (or at the very least, the Galaxy Mystery Egg) when it comes out for a new event? I have one park that needs Eridanian in the rift. I have it twinned, but it can’t be bred in the Runic Caves and it can’t be bred outright in the rift. The only option I have is to get lucky with a mystery egg one way or another, but right now the Galaxy egg is 90,000 etherium for me, and the price has never reset in the several years they’ve been doing this. That’s 90k for a less than 5% chance it’ll be the one I need, with no hope of it ever getting cheaper. There’s just no point in trying at that cost, so this dragon is a dead end for me unless I get some completely random luck (and nothing so far in the apparently 20 Galaxy eggs I’ve gotten from the daily login bonuses since they started, nor the countless regular mystery eggs I’ve tried).
If the Galaxy egg at least reset to the base price the occasional time they made it available, I’d be willing to sink some resources into trying for it each event, which helps Deca in the long run. As it is, though, neither one of us is a winner.
Edited to add: Or, y’know, just make them breedable in the Runic Caves - I suspect a lot of people would be happy with that…
One of my parks needs 1 more Rifted Galaxy and the EOM price is 172,500E the other park needs 2 and the EOM price is 225,000 (which is the cap).
Do we know what is the best dragon to coop breed for Sea Shanty? like Sea Shanty + ?? gives the best odds? Currently I am using Elder Water, but without much luck, was wondering if anything else would give me a slight edge?

When I asked for Deca to include the Galaxy EOM in this event, I also requested that they reset the price or drop the cap.
One of my parks needs 1 more Rifted Galaxy and the EOM price is 172,500E the other park needs 2 and the EOM price is 225,000 (which is the cap). Of course one of the Rifted Galaxy dragons I need is a Rifted Glimmerwing which is needed to breed Delicia. In an earlier event, I spent several million Etherium trying to get a Glimmerwing without success. I'm hoping that one day I might get the Rifted Galaxy dragons through my daily log-in Galaxy.
As amos mentioned they can't be bred in the rift so why were they rifted originally.
Can I suggest that at the end of the event when adlerist creates the Best Dragon Poll and asks for comments, that you make this comment there so that she can pass it on to Deca.
It is indeed strange they are in the rift, as they are entirely dependent on EOM. I however find it much more satisfying to just buy a ton of ordinary EOM (roughly 1 in 700) over the galaxy EOM's (1 in 21) due to their insane prize, but also because I can get many different dragons I need in the ordinary EOM's. I am going for 4 types of each dragon, and of course always need twin rift versions.
adlerist no, I didn’t receive the usual confirmation. I was just checking the size & expecting to be able to reject it, when there it was! I’m going to have to do the same with one on the other side of the island as I need symmetry but I think I’ll leave the others alone. I have 19 Paradise habitats but clearly that’s not very many at all 😀
(Sorry for not quoting but I usually mess that up too 🙈)
Thank you so much! I’ll report this on Monday. Cheers!

Thank you, adlerist and dragonglow . Got both Spinky and Valeodon this morning. Absolutely delighted! I'm so happy right now.
I’m so happy you captured Valeodon! He’s going to make a gigantic splash in your park!

The ridiculous pricing of some of the special eggs makes them impossible to get. There should be a reasonable cap or a reset every single time they are released.
I don’t even know why they released Galaxy dragons in the rift since we can’t breed for them or even twin rift dragons since there is not a cave to get twins. It is maddening that a lot of long time players can never get non twin rifted galaxy dragons or eggs since they had twins of them when they were added to the rift. The only way would be to sell off all your twins and twin rifts and try to collect them all again in proper order.
The Galaxy dragons were introduced to the Rift via their mystery eggs for the sake of Rigel — a Rift exclusive Galaxy dragon that can be bred in the Rift. Not saying it was a brilliant idea to do this for one dragon, but that was Backflip’s decision many years ago. Perhaps they were planning on more Rift exclusive Galaxy dragons.

Elder Water should do perfectly fine 😊. You could also use a hybrid with a short breeding time, like Nectar, Lotus, Trench, and Abyss. G’luck!

Deca Games has released a bunch of fatherly dragons to celebrate the occasion. Unfortunately, there’s no list of the dragons that were released 😅. So, I scrolled through the Dragonarium to see which ones are available. I believe I’ve located all of them, but if there’s any missing, please let me know. Here they are, along with their breeding combos.
Apex = Hidden + earth + light Armament = metal + light + fire Barbarous = ONI + RAGNAROK Bastion = light + lightning + cold Bearded = MOUNTAIN + metal Chuck = APEX + COMBUSTION Combustion = fire + air + metal + dark Decay = fire + earth + cold Fury = MISFORTUNE + SNOWPOCALYPSE Gargoyle = TRICK + Monolith Hyperion = FURY + NARCIS Lunk = GAMMA + BASTION Lycan = plant + cold + lightning Maw = TRICK + ORTREAT Narcis = OUROBOROS + metal + dark Nether = fire + metal + earth Oni = fire + earth + cold Ortreat = plant + fire + earth Shield = HAIL + HYDRA Trepak = evolve from GIFT when all 10 different Nutcrackers are in your park Trick = plant + fire + earth Umbra = evolve from SCOUT when all 10 different Tents are in your park Wrath = evolve from LOVE when all 10 different Tendrils of Wrath are in your park
The Game Reps have requested the evolve decorations for Trepak, Umbra, and Wrath be released.
Father’s Day dragons will be available for one week. G’luck to all!

The hidden fire element for Spinky has finally been removed. Spinky only contributes water and cold. Now, go forth and clone Spinky without all those tiresome fire fails!
To celebrate the occasion, I have Spinky in the co-op. Koala puff to all!

I have bought the Surface theme and new decorations for those that want to look at them. Go to the only empty island going far left when you come to visit.
To be honest, I like the surface theme, but it is not as crisp and clear as the other themes. The spoils treasure chest is tiny, a lot smaller than I expected. The Ikatako barrel is a favorite decoration already.

I love the Ikatako barrel. I hope when you place it in its permanent position amos you fence it off. I watched baby Ikatako jump out of the barrel, nearly land on some visitors and frightening the life out of them. 😊
Ever since joining the forum koalas have invaded my park and run amok. I have already bred Valeodon (with Ghostly Fire) and a twin Spinky (with Ghostly Cold) thanks to adlerist. Takes all the fun out of whining!
And both adlerist and my daughter clued me in about the carnivorous treasure chest being a chest mimic. Thanks to both for keeping me a little more current.
And, for Father’s Day, my daughter got me the Complete Official Expanded Guide for LOZ BOTW. So now I’m playing a grand total of two games. You really can teach an old dog new tricks. Occasionally-ish.

It is a very lucky Forum. 😊 We have the exclusive rights to the koalas. 😉

Since I only have eleven Paradise habitats from back when there was no limit, I went ahead and sold a few so I could test out the newer models. For those of you who haven't seen the upgrades yet, here are some pictures with side by side comparison next to a small Paradise habitat.
^ Giant Paradise habitat next to small
^ Large Paradise habitat next to small
It is tempting to upgrade/purchase them now, but I want to save my currency and wait until we're closer to the end of the event. Not sure which size I'll pick because I try to arrange everything on my islands so that they're neat, pretty and organized. The upgrades look really nice, but it might be too much water for my flower themed island that you see here. I might have to buy another island since that's the only one with some space left. Which means poor Spinky and Valeodon are going to be competing for habitat space until then.
We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.
I can’t let an event go by without asking another question about Rift breeding. This one is about traits and inheritance. The forum’s Rift thread states: “The traits of the parent dragons can be inherited…”. To me, “can be inherited” conveys a different meaning than “are inherited”. Is there any situation in which traited offspring do not inherit parental traits?
The reason I ask is because of the purple fire breathing Dragonarium requirement that all traitable dragons have all ten traits unlocked. I don’t anticipate ever achieving purple fire, but never say never. Some of my Rift dragons have one trait unlocked (and primary element Rift dragons can have only one trait unlocked). Some of my other Rift dragons have eight or more unlocked traits. Paying 10K in Etherium to unlock each and every trait in the Transfiguration Tower is an expensive proposition, especially in newer parks where you are paying to clear ether, paying for habitats, paying for dragons, and paying to breed. Has anyone ever developed an efficient and practical strategy for unlocking a majority of traits through breeding inheritance instead of paying Etherium in the Transfiguration Tower? Is this even possible? Finally, do traited dragons claimed from a Runic cave have only the one selected trait unlocked? I can’t recall ever claiming a traited dragon from a Runic cave. Thanks!

The traits for the parent dragons (and the alignment) can be inherited. There’s no guarantee the offspring will receive it. After breeding the dragon, it’ll either have one of the parent’s traits, or the alignment trait, or no trait. Players have assumed there’s a 25% chance for each; however, this is a guess, we don’t know the exact percentages. I’m inclined to believe no trait is a little higher.
Yes, if you select a traited-twin dragon from the RBCs or from the final event daily rewards calendar, the trait it has will be unlocked, only that trait.
The strategy I use to unlock traits is to ensure the breeding parents and alignment are set to the missing traits I need for the potential outcomes. So if I’m trying to breed Tidal in the Rift, I write down the breeding combo (Abyss + Quake), then look up Abyss and Quake in the Dragonarium and write down all the traits I have unlocked and which ones I need. Then, with the DV sandbox, I look up all the possible outcomes for Abyss + Quake, and I write down which traits I’m missing for those dragons. Next, I total it up to see which traits have the largest number missing from the breeding outcomes. If those traits are, for example fire and water, I use the Transfiguration Tower to change the parent traits to fire and water. If I don’t have the traits unlocked for the parents, I change the alignment to either fire or water.
There’s a lot of other details based on cloning and breeding odds and such that helps me decide which trait to use for the parents and alignment, but that’s the gist of it. I’m basically target breeding for the trait. It puts all those Rift breeding fails to good use.
If you have a lot of dragons that don’t have all the traits, or if ten elements are in the breeding combo, it can be quite a task to list all the dragons with their missing traits. But as you get further along, it goes much faster because you no longer have to write down the dragons with all 10 traits unlocked.
Keep in mind, I’m a little nuts, so I wouldn’t expect anyone to go to these lengths. But since you asked, that’s the strategy I’ve been using for years.

Thanks so much for this. It’s incredibly lovely. That puffer fish is as adorable as Spinky!
