It does cost 4500 doubloons to upgrade to the giant habitat but I think that’s fair, because I get to keep 40 Paradise habitats, while other players only get nine. If I didn’t think it was fair, I’d sell my extra 30+ habitats and buy the giant for 3000.
Players may have bought the habitats in good faith, but they probably knew that the unlimited amount was a mistake and that the Paradise habitats used to have a cap and that habitats that don’t count against your limit always have a cap. We got to take advantage of that mistake so we have a lot of habitats, but I don’t think we should be given special treatment and allowed to upgrade them for less. That’s just my unpopular opinion. Players who didn’t get to buy 30, 40, 50 habitats and are stuck with 9 would love to be in our situation. They’d love to have 40 habitats that don’t count against the limit and spend 1500 EC more to upgrade a couple to giant. We’re still coming out ahead.
Rumors and conspiracy theories have been swirling around the Vale in recent days about a Quaa sighting in Paradise. This morning Vale Security confirmed that a Quaa dragon made an unauthorized landing in Paradise last Tuesday. The noisy Quaa was swiftly apprehended and deported to Rwanda.
In other news, many DV parks are reporting large numbers of Visitors (and other pirates) descending on their Paradise themed islands, creating serious crowd control problems and long lines at the popcorn stands. One wizard we spoke to (who wishes to remain anonymous) solved his Paradise overcrowding problems by installing The Guardian’s Gate in front of a Greedy Spoils treasure chest along with a sign that reads: “FREE GOLD AND GEMS FOR ALL - COME INSIDE!” The unidentified wizard claims that his crowds have all but vanished.
The Game Reps reported Euryale’s extra elements (earth and lightning) and asked that they be removed. Deca has just elimimated the excessive elements.
Now, Euryale’s contributing elements are water, dark, and light. They match the dragon’s info card and habitats.
If you’re single-parent cloning Euryale (Euryale + another dragon) be sure to use an elder or a dragon with one or more of its hidden elements: water, dark, and light.
This should reduce some of the long fails, like Party, Enfis, Rainbow, Double Rainbow, Triple Rainbow, etc (too late for me though, my Euryale is currently stuck in the co-op with a 52-hour-long Party fail — not very party-like at all).

Hope it's not too early to whine cause Sea Shanty is being very elusive. Spent lots of gems to breed and speed, to no avail. Hope there's room in the Whine Lounge. I'll bring shrimp salad, lobster rolls and chocolate of course!
I am headed to the Whine Lounge right now… 3 days and lotsa gems but I haven’t even felt a small puff of air from Spinky. Likewise 3 days and again lotsa gems yet not even a small ripple of water, much less a tidal wave, from Valedon.
I meant COOP breeding. And, just so you know, I am very cool!
Since Euryale’s contributing elements have changed, and it’s now a three-element dragon, I’d suggest using an elder water, dark, or light dragon. If you want to use a hybrid, use Nectar or any dragon with those three elements that has a short breeding time. If you’re not sure which dragons have low breeding times, check the DV sandbox > All Dragons to quickly find the breeding times of dragons based on their elements. Just click the elements you need and it will list the dragons.

It’s OK if we disagree. That’s what makes the game interesting and the players even more interesting. I’m not criticizing you or your view, I’m just adding my two doubloons the same as you. I can see the unfairness you see. I was also disappointed with the habitat cap. I’m just trying to put a silver lining on it. Maybe I’m not doing a great job of that but when I realized I’m better off with all my Paradise habitats, the 1500 EC didn’t matter so much. Sorry if my post was upsetting.
No worries! I think most players probably work the system one way or another to benefit their game play. But when the rules of engagement change in the middle it can be a bitter pill to swallow. I still chafe a little about gemstone habitats costing 150 gems each in the days when gems were the currency of the realm and hard to come by. Then the escalating price system was introduced. From the developer’s side I do understand it’s impossible to set up everything correctly at the very beginning. And I was out of the game when Paradise habitats were introduced to the game and unaware of the extended history. Thanks to everyone who shared their points of view about this!
Thanks for this ObiJuan! I was concerned that what I wrote might have been annoying or seemed confrontational. Sometimes it’s difficult to interpret responses and know if there’s humor, sarcasm, or irritation behind it. I’m relieved you weren’t annoyed, and sorry if I misinterpreted your post. Thanks!

Thank you for this! That is amazing news! The game reps are doing an incredible job and so is DECA! Sorry about the Party fail. I’ve had a couple of those too in this event. Euryale is going to be a lot easier to clone now! Woot!!

That is a PRO tip right there!!! I did not know the sandbox had this! Whoa, I learned something new today! And unlike trigonometry it’s something I’m going to use everyday, or at least once a week! Thank you for the pro tip!!

This is news to me too! I’ve learned my one thing for today so I can go home from work! Oh wait - WFH already 😒🤣😂🤣
EURYALE was quickly travelling towards the Vale. Her snake-like tentacles embraced ships passing in the night and pulled them deep into the watery underworld. In another nautical mile Euryale would be on the brink of the Vale. The horizon was growing broad and dark.
Euryale is in the co-op reaching out to everyone with all tentacles. Octo-koala to all!
Breeding hint: MYLIO + IKATAKO
Breeding/incubation time: 24 hours
Status: Limited tier, 7 days
Contributing elements: water, dark, light (contributing elements changed!)
Habitats: water, dark, light
Breeding percentages: breeding hint 4%; social clone 1%
It only took 3 attempts for me to breed Euryale in the Rift with a water trait! Thrilled!
This is a great looking dragon - I love the tentacles and Ikatako is a perfect parent for Euryale.
Thanks for the breeding hint adlerist and thanks to the Game Reps and Deca for removing the extra elements. 👍

To the best of my knowledge its 1500 to large then 3000 to giant so it's much cheaper to just sell then buy the Giant. My problem is I have 69 smalls after the last 2 events when there was no limit. Its going to be a pain to move around 240 dragons .....
You’d have to move most of those dragons into the Hibernation Cave and buy different habitats for them. To purchase another (giant) Paradise habitat, you can only own eight at the most. So you’d have to sell 61 Paradise habitats.
I thought I had a lot at 39! I’m only using five, because there’s never any space in the Vale. I don’t mind selling some, but I don’t think I’m willing to sell 31 just so I can purchase a giant version. I’d like to have more than nine total in the hope that one day we’ll have an Expansion Extravaganza with more than one lonely new island, and I can have more paradise in the Vale.
So I bit the bullet did a crapload of rearranging bought about 30 Giant habtats (mostly Light,Water,Dark) Maxed out the new limits on the raised habitats from this event including all 9 Giant Paradise, and still have about 40 habitat slots open LOL.
Really hope the next extravaganza has another Gargantuan island...

PSA: There’s been some changes and reductions in the game
• Tolzar’s Optical Oracle ads now payout 40 event currency (reduced from 50 EC) • Colosseum pays our 20 EC if you win gold (reduced from 25) • Mini games payout less (Name That Egg awards 16 EC, instead of 20) • The amount of EC you can purchase in the Market is slightly less • The mini colosseum on the event island likely has a reduced payout as well
(The above amounts are all based on regular days, not Double Days)
Other changes
• Celestial and Meridiem Habitat caps have been raised to 5 (thank you CalliAlli for the request) • Melody Habitat cap has been raise to 6 (thank you CalliAlli) • Paradise Habitat now has a cap of 9 (if you have more than 9 and some are in storage, you can remove them without the game crashing — thanks to Calli for testing this) • Surface Habitats are now capped at 9
The Game Reps have asked Deca about the reduction in event currency earnings. When we hear back, I’ll let you know.

ATTENTION PARK VISITORS: as part of Park Expansion Programmes, all water habitats will be upgraded to Paradise Habitats of equivalent size. This change may also affect selected Light and Air Habitats, and will allow us to fit additional habitats and dragons into the park we know you love. During this time, you may encounter construction with both habitats and dragons in unexpected areas. If you have trouble locating anything, please refer to the Dragonarium.
We apologise for the inconvenience and hope you have a magical day!

OH NO!!!! Is this “upgrade” going to be like local road construction projects where they set up barricades, close lanes, tear up a little bit of pavement, and then go away for months? BTW, what’s a Dragonarium?

Today is the last day for breeding or buying (with gems) any Father's Day dragons that you are missing in your park. At the next reset they will be unavailable again.
** REMINDER ** Visitors are reminded that carrying a flag, banner, or any outward mark of elemental affiliation while inside a DragonVale Park is, by law, strictly prohibited. Visitors found in violation of the law will be frisked for cash, gems, or other contraband, and then immediately ejected from the Park (no exceptions or refunds). Thank you for your understanding. Have a great day!
