Great progress towards blue fire, well done. As a matter of interest, how did you twin Topaz and Amethyst which aren't currently available? Wondering is there some option I'm missing. Mystery gemstone eggs are very pricy for me now so I was thinking I might need to use a wish for the last few elusive gemstones/crystalline twins.
Edit: Now that I look more closely at your screenshot, I see it was the mystery egg route you used.

Yes, I got them through egg of mystery. Wishing is the simplest route if you want them without having to wait for them to become available again, and if the cost of the gem eggs are too much for you.

Congratulations. Getting all the gemstones twinned is a great achievement. I still need two to be twinned and will probably use a wish for them.

I was considering using a wish on twin Opal if I didn't get it by the time it expired. Alas, the next day I was fortunate enough to breed it, saving my resources.

Last night I had this dream.... It was during Paradise and I was breeding for a new, unspecified limited through the co-op. When I tried it resulted in a 2 day fail which ended up being a twin Djinni - a lovely surprise.
I was shocked when I woke up, booted the game and saw the following screen:
Usually I don't keep duplicates of dragons, but this'll be an exception. Since it's (quite literally) the dragon of my dreams, I am gonna make a special habitat on my Dream island for him.

PSA: DV version 4.32.0 is now available And it brings some new changes!
The 'player profile' button that was located in the upper left corner of the screen has been moved to the bottom right of the Social menu next to the 'Visit Random Park' button. Please see Willow’s post in Deca Announcements.
Tolzar’s Optical Oracle has a new addition! Players can receive gems and DragonCash in addition to event currency for watching adverts. A total of eight ads can be viewed per day.
• 3 ads for event currency • 3 ads DragonCash • 2 ads for gems
When there is no event, players can watch ads for treats, DragonCash, and gems.
• 3 ads for treats • 3 ads DragonCash • 2 ads for gems
Once you’ve reached the maximum number of ads for a resource, its button will be greyed out.
The amount of DragonCash and treats a player receives depends on their park level. Event currency at the Oracle is still doubled during Double Days.
This update to Tolzar’s Optical Oracle is permanent.

PSA: The ads at Tolzar's Optical Oracle reset in 24 hours instead of 14:00 UTC (DV's daily reset)
The latest update (version 4.32.0) includes the addition of more resources and ads to Tolzar’s Optical Oracle. Players can watch adverts and earn gems, event currency, and DragonCash. However, the ads are not resetting with the game’s daily reset (their buttons remain greyed out), and the green 'play' arrow is still displaying on the Oracle. Deca has looked into the problem and reported that the adverts will reset in 24 hours. They are working on the issue, but until it’s fixed, please be aware that the ads won’t be available with the daily reset at 14:00 UTC.

With DC being added to the oracle, is DC farming not as important anymore? I feel like the addition of 2b/day DC at max level for watching 3 ads can kind of replace any mediocre dc farm. This update to the oracle also feels aligned towards another expansion extravaganza that has been mentioned is coming recently.

The reps were not aware of the Tolzar Optical Oracle upgrade until it was already in the game. At that time, I informed Deca of the extreme generosity of the DC reward, especially for players at level 180. They will discuss the issue.
There is a chance that Deca could change the amount of DC players receive from the Oracle. If Deca doesn't update the amount, the necessity of DC farming will be up to the player and their goals.
The EE should arrive before the year ends if things stay on schedule. However, I don’t get the impression that Deca is planning on altering the prices in the EE because of the Oracle.

I’m interested in peoples views on this. Isn’t it good for players if it becomes possible to get the later islands without having to do a massive investment of time and space in dc farming? I’m ok with it being challenging, but I’d love to not have to take up space with that!

The challenge in growing treats and obtaining islands, especially the latest ones, is earning enough DC. DC farming is one way to achieve that. The need to earn DC by collecting from habitats is important for the health and longevity of DragonVale because it ensures that players are logging in and regularly playing. If the challenge of obtaining DC is eliminated, it seriously jeopardises the game, and the developer may need to make changes.

I forget, can current new event dragons be in the daily login rewards before the event ends? For example, could Awoo or Spooker be gained from a login reward or do they only become available once this event is over? I only ask because the only dragon I have left before I get red fire is Kingstone, and I should be getting my login reward for an Epic dragon in about two weeks, but I'm worried that by then the Christmas event will have started, and I might get a different Epic dragon that I could just breed instead, wasting my reward.

The new dragons are not in the event daily rewards. You should receive Kingstone for your Daily Reward.
