While unsuccessfully rift breeding for the lovely Leviathan, I got a rift fire and rift water as 2 of my fails? Is this an undesirable effect of the upgrade?
It must be. I got a few myself. They are not shown in the breeding simulators. I wish I had paid attention to how many traited versus non-traited that I got. I wish they just did away with non-traiteds in the rift.

Yeah, that’s not supposed to happen. I’ve inquired with Deca.
Thank you for reporting this!

After fighting with RNG all event, I got Levi traited first day! He’s metal traited and looks amazing! This is the first Deca dragon of the event that I actually think properly fits the depths theme. He’s amazing. I love his snek face.
I have received traited elemental fails in the rift for two (and possibly more) events now. I just figured it was part of the “Rift Experience”.
Leviathan is a bit underwhelming. Somehow I expected a larger dragon. And the description? How does a dragon take up too much air at the bottom of the ocean? Magic to the rescue once again.

The Rift primary dragons will not add to the breeding fails! Now go forth and breed in the Rift with carefree bliss.

Buzzkill haha I jest. You were more analytical right off the bat than I was. I agree that he isn’t nearly big enough. I also haven’t seen the very important animation that goes along with a story like that. Unless I missed it. I’m glad they didn’t somehow reuse Spinky’s animation, but
Overall twin weekend is going great for me - the Rift bred traited grin and Kaiju today, and I have gotten about ten unique twins so far, bringing the total missing down to 45.
With that said, stringlessworms twinned a gryphus, and one other player twinned a Nubis, which were unfortunately lost in the void. To make matters worse, neither screenshotted confirmation of a twin, meaning that there's no proof for submitting a ticket.
I have received lost twins from DECA before without screenshots. If you know when they were bred and the park ID you can put in a support ticket and they'll likely give the eggs to you!
Grin brings the total number of apocalypse dragons up to 24.
With that, the element is beginning to get quite large, and I have begun to have issue housing these dragons.
The current size of the apocalypse element, and how quickly it has been growing recently brings a suggestion - Giant Apocalypse Habitat.
An 8x8 upgrade which holds 5-6 dragons would be perfect, and needed, for the apocalypse element, as it currently takes a total of 12 habitats to house all apocalypse and all twins.
Deca Games: Upgrades the Giant Apocalypse Habitat to 15x15
🤭
If they allowed the habitat to hold 9 dragons I would not be opposed to this LOL especially if it looked like an enormous sacrificial temple or volcano or something.

I still love his design though.
Leviathan’s design is good, but bigger is better with a name like that. It would be fun to see an Aquarium Habitat animation where Leviathan zooms up from the bottom and out the top, then lands with an enormous splash.

. I wouldn’t want untraited dragons to disappear from Rift. I’m always happy when trying for a new dragon and I get an untraited version and a traited one. I can move it to the regular park and feed it for so much less than traited dragons.

I would have no problem if all the dragons bred in the Rift were traited. It makes sense since they're bred in the Rift and both parents have traits. If dragons bred in the Vale could acquire traits it would be really weird, and players would complain. That's the same weirdness as breeding untraited dragons in the Rift.
Traited dragons can be moved to the Vale and cloned there for the untraited version. It's pretty easy to get untraited dragons. They can be cloned at the Co-op, purchased, or wished for. But we can't get the traited versions from Co-op cloning, purchasing, or wishes. They can only be bred at the Rift.
I know a lot of players like untraited dragons because it’s cheaper to level them up, or they don’t like the look of the traits, so I think it would be fine if the odds of getting an untraited dragon were reduced to 2%. That should satisfy players that want untraited dragons and allow players who collect traited dragons a chance to actually collect all of them. It's ridiculous to have to breed a dragon with a 1% or 2% chance three times just to get it with a trait. That can easily take a month and by then the dragon expired weeks ago.

This is the key issue imo. RBCs only happen twice a year and have a limit of 10 dragons, end of event gifts only give one dragon per event and can't be used for new dragons, and EoMs are unreliable (and again, no new releases until after the event). All of those options also require you to have a twin. The Rift cave is the only reliable way to get traited dragons in non-RBC events (and the only way at all to get non-Rift-exclusives traited without first having a twin), which is why it's so frustrating to get an untraited dragon when you're not looking for one.
I totally understand why some players, especially newer players who don't have a reliable source of lots of treats, prefer untraited dragons. But traited dragons aren't only required for purple fire but by far the most useful thing for getting red fire too, because with a decent supply of etherium you'll be getting more Rift breeds daily than you will in the three main park caves (ignoring RBCs) unless you use hundreds of gems.
Surprisingly given my general dislike of the excessively challenging parts of this game, I don't mind the fact that untraited dragons is a possibility in the Rift cave, as it adds an extra bit of chance. But you're right, the chance to get them should be so much lower than it is now. I'd be happy with 10% but I think something like your suggestion of 2% is far better for purple fire people. And I certainly wouldn't mind if the possibility was removed entirely. I can't think of a reason why I'd prefer untraited dragons from the Rift apart from 1) it's easier to feed them up and/or 2) the trait doesn't look good, but as you say, in that case players can just clone/breed it in the main park to get an untraited dragon.

These are both good points you make. I wouldn’t want to see untraited completely disappear from the rift as there have been many an event where I just couldn’t get my park caves to give me an event dragon but the rift has come through with both traited and untraited thus allowing me to go for seconds and pedestals during the event via co-op. Oh, and more often than not I get the untraited in the rift before the traited so co-op for the untraited using the traited version wouldn’t be an option yet. Perhaps I need better RNG
I have been and cleaned the W(h)ine Lounge and plumped the cushions on the couch. Thrown out all the empty wine bottles and stocked the fridge with fresh supplies. There is also cheese and crackers available.
One of my parks has been struggling to bred Leviathan. It did finally bred a Leviathan today, which was a nice surprise as I hadn't realised until the egg popped into the nest. But I haven't seen a Leviathan in the Rift even though I've been breeding up to E15,000 daily.
If there are any koalas floating around (don't think they can swim) they are welcome to visit my park. 😊

Sending Koala’s to your rift. I hope Leviathan makes an appearance there shortly.

May the 🐨🐨🐨 be with you. I was in the same boat in one of my parks, with 2 Leviathans in the vale, but no sight of a Levi in the rift, not even a non-traited one. Then finally this morning on the last day, I got one! So there is still hope. All the 🐨🐨🐨 are now on speed dial and at your service.
Dragonglow and Jmfroberg shine from sea to shining sea!
Thank you so very much, jmfroberg and dragonglow! Nothing says Deepest Depths better than a giant ghost worm, especially one as adorable as Leviathan! I’ve sent gleaming gems and waterproof treats in great appreciation. Many cheers!

If anybody sent a twin of a new event dragon and didn’t receive gems and treats, please let me know. Thank you! 💕
