Name Fletch's Galaxy Dragons!

With the feedback I received from the lovely forum members I have decided to name my dragons after historical dates. They are numbered in the order they were released, and that is assigned to a day of the year; Plant is Jan 1st, Earth is Jan 2nd, etc. To see what I mean you can scroll down to the first entry below and see I have named my adult Plant dragon after the Federation of Australia. I aim to have an adult and baby of each dragon (save Kairos) so I will need two historical events for each date (save for 24th of March, which is my birthday. Coincidence? I think not! Except of course it is. And anyone who has followed me on this forum knows that I definitely think it is. Anyway …). I've decided that the best way to assign these names is to open it up to the forum members.

All you need to do is to give me an historic event, the date it occurred, and if I use it to name one of my dragons I will send you a gem. I don't guarantee I will use every suggestion. However I'm more likely to use something that means something to me, or means something to you, rather than just a random fact you googled. So if you can tell me why the date is important rather than simply what happened, you're more likely to receive a gem.

The first person to post a fact gets the credit. Oh, and only 1 entry from each member for each date will be accepted.

May 18th is my brother's birthday, and looking up that date it appears that one of my favorite books was published on that date in 1897 - Dracula, by Bram Stoker. As it is a Dark dragon, it seems appropriate to name it 1897Dracula.

Huh. My birthday matches my avatar dragon on your list. What a strange coincidence.

The only one on the list so far that jumps out at me is February 12th, which was Charles Darwin's birthday. 1809Darwin could work for it. As for justification... well, Darwin was a geologist and while it is not as well known as his evolution work, he did study fossils. And the Metal dragon looks more like a dinosaur than most. A bit weak... but yeah.
