Hmmm, and now I see a problem. My shrines were immediately silver when they finished building (I had apparently already leveled enough dragons up to 10 to get an immediate promotion). However, I now have an unfinished (and possibly unfinishable) goal to earn silver dark and light shrines...
Bummer.

Well, i have just noticed that you can upgrade your light and dark shrines directly to gold using gems. My other shrines have been gold for a long long time but I'm pretty sure this wasn't an option back in the day... I remember the long, expensive process of leveling up 50 dragons of each type (hybrids where possible to get the double bite of course!). Can anybody confirm that this is a new feature?

The hatch dialog now tells you separately how many dragons and eggs you have! Yay!
A handful of decorations and all the island theme were marked "New" for me!
New goals for the light/dark shrines!
13th Island is $4B... eek, there goes my warchest!
ETA: Also, it's been a while since my Dragonarium sparkled (which it is now doing after I got my Elysiums!) but if I'm not mistaken, the sparkling has changed, now with a glowing green aura around the spires...
In case anyone is wondering (I was) it IS possible to get a twin breeding with Nogard (I was confident this was the case but had not yet seen confirmation).
Also, my current nursery makes me happy:

Ahaha! 48 hours in the CBC, 38:24 hours in the EBI... surely one of them is an elusive Elysium! Only time will tell! Well, time or irresponsible management of my gem hoard...
Huzzah! The EBI dragon was an Elysium! I have changed my avatar as stipulated in the original whine...

I was given four for my birthday. I am wearing one now.
My mother-in-law always insists on giving me Christmas presents and I never know what to ask for. This year she is getting a request for a DV shirt, the hardest part will be choosing a dragon. Did they consult you for dragon choice before purchase, or surprise you? Perhaps it would be more fun to let her choose.
Maidy (Maid4Life) just read your other post about your niece, very cool.
I keep waiting for a stranger waiting in the doctor's/dentist's office to recognize DV, but it hasn't happened yet.
Not a shirt story, but I was traveling a few months ago and pulled out my phone after landing (while we were standing in the aisle waiting to deplane) so I could take care of some tasks that piled up while I was offline. A little girl, probably 8 or 9 years old, said "oooOOOooohh, DragonVale!" Her parents laughed and she peppered me with questions while we were getting off the plane. When I was a kid we didn't think twice about engaging strangers in conversation. It makes me sad that we have to teach our kids about "stranger-danger" now...

Just received a Fire Twin from Womantrae. Thanks for that. And I was breeding with TexasTed and we just got a Twin as well. Do the two of you want to keep going for Fire Pedestals?
Anyone else want a Fire Twin, please post and let me know. I'll keep my CBC clear for another hour or two, then I'll be back on the hunt for Twin Pearls.
Hi Fletch,
Thought you were starting at 5 BFS time so I haven't been paying attention. Only just now starting. Please leave him up a while. thanks!
Edit: Whoops, never mind. I forgot I still have a 48 hour in my CBC (hopefully Elysium). I'll pass this time, thanks!
Piiixxiiiieeee, you got some 'splaining to do! I visited your old and new parks and they are substantially the same. How did this happen? Did BFS move your park to the new GCID for you? What did they require for proof that you authorized the move? Or did you somehow move your park to local and then to the new account (though I have no idea if this is possible)? Enquiring minds want to know!
Hate the confusion this has caused. It started out so simply as needing to change the email associated with my Apple Id because we will be moving and the old email address will no longer be valid. The Email we wanted to change to was already associated with another ID, it was an email that all our older family members use to communicate with us, so changing that wasn't an option.
BFS had me start a new park with a new username and they transferred my old park over to the new. Bad news was it didn't bring my friends list along with it, nor the old name of the park. Ugh! Was able to rename the new park to *PixieWA* to hopefully make it recognizable as belonging to me. They had been already working with me on a missing Twin Egg issue so there was no problem knowing they were talking to the right PixieWA.
BTW, regading that missing egg. Had received a notice that an Arturian Twin had been received, but it never got to the gift box. That is why I contacted them in the first place. They responded that messages don't always coincide with the arrival of eggs in order to limit the number of notifications received when opening the game. That the egg was there I had probably already cleared it.
Writing back, if that were the case, then there would most certainly be a Arcurian Twin in my park, which there wasn't. Upon checking, they realized there really had been an error and gifted the missing egg to my park. Very nice.
Would suggest if people get a special twin they don't want to lose, be sure to take a screen shot of the notification as proof.
Thank you for the explanation!
It's an interesting topic for me because my GCID is currently an old Apple ID that I don't use anymore except for GameCenter. I'd really like to coalesce my various Apple IDs into my single preferred one but I haven't tried to do it yet because I need to understand the impact to my various games and friends lists. Apple doesn't really provide a lot of help for these kinds of issues.

Pixie, you are still on my list .. All is not lost! I'm here ... No Elysium to offer, but still here. Lol
Yep, you are on board with the new GCID The old just plain PixieWA is dead, no longer receives or sends gems, nor share in the Coop island. It may look like it's working, but I have no control over it.
Anyone who want to reconnect, be sure to add the * (asterisk) before and after. Tried to make the new GCID so people would still recognize it's me friending them.

Folks, I am going to set some time tomorrow, in about 26 hours from the time of this post, to breed a twin fire dragon. Will take a bit longer than breeding the twin plant, but those that want to take part should post here. If we get a group of people who are all friended, we should be able to get everyone a twin fire in no time.
5pm, Thurs 4th of June, BFS time (clock is at the top of the page) to breed a Fire twin. Who wants in? Fletch_smf is my GCID. What is yours?
I'll give it a shot. You're already a friend so I'll watch your shared dragon.
I'm still interested in getting an official breeding program going though, but I think it will need mod support (although if interest isn't strong enough to do an official one I might just publish my own schedule and start down the road myself with anybody welcome to opt in or out as their interest level dictates). Is there enough community interest for me (or one of the mods who already indicated interest) to keep pushing for one?

I've had only marginal success with whining on the forum, but my desperation waxes as the Elysium's availability wanes. Allow me to elucidate:
The elegant Elysium has elected to elude me. My elaborate efforts to elevate my park and join the elite have elicited only Elympics and other elementals. If this eloquent but elliptical elegy executed with élan eliminates the elephantine odds of epic fails before the availability period has elapsed, then I shall exchange my eldritch avatar for a more Elysian alternative. Such an outcome would leave me elated and electrified, but also lacking elbow room in my dream habitat.
I elided "elderberry" and "electrum" from that whine, they seemed a bit much. On the other hand, that didn't stop me from typing "Elympic"...

It's a Fabulously Gay Idea! But it is kind of unfair on the stud provider, so I think that the stud providers should swap dragons often to stop them from being swamped with the same twin fails which they don't want. That way, everyone gets a range of twins, and the studs at least get lots of different types. If people who want to use this service they can just add all the studs and that way they know that one of the studs will have their needed dragon.
I was thinking the same thing jamesvaler, and I think I have an idea how to organize this w/out too much effort, or too much burden on the providers. Basically, lay out tracks based on dragon type, then increment through the dragons as listed in a track (I'm taking a stab at it here; a week to breed a twin? Not sure if that's long enough...). At the end, the providers rotate to a new track. It would look something like this:
Plant
Plant 2
...
Plant n
Fire
Fire 2
...
Fire n
...
...
...
...
Epic 1
Epic 2
...
Epic n
A lot depends on how many stud providers we have, obviously, the more the better I'm guessing around 15 would work well w/out looking at the exact layout (different numbers of dragons in each track and all). But that's about 15 dragons per track, which is about 4 months. So 3 switches a year.
If we double the number of stud providers to 30 then we can alternate on/off weeks so providers can twin, or just make the tracks have less dragons and so we loop through them faster. Ultimately, stud providers are getting great shots at twins since people will be coming to them so I'm less worried about what I'll be able to do personally
I like the idea of having tracks. There are going to be twin fails mixed in with mundane fails so having several target options to work on will be a good thing as our twin populations fill in. But we do need to structure it in a way that if a player misses an opportunity at one dragon because they are working on a different one, it doesn't take forever to loop around for another shot. Perhaps we could come up with a way to stagger the tracks (if there are enough stud providers) so that players can hop on a different Fire track to pick up the Fire dragon they just missed. Or maybe I'm over-thinking things
I don't think it's necessary to have on/off weeks since stud providers can always breed for something different with a dragon other than the one they're assigned as long as they remember to reselect their designated dragon after (although breeding the dragon you're sharing certainly makes things easier!)

I, too, have been musing about the twin dilemma. I wonder if it might be useful to create an official DV Twin Breeding Program where several of us (no need to have everybody do it, as that might be chaotic) sign up to provide an official stud-service, swapping out their shared dragon in a predictable way and at a predictable time so we cover the entire set of available dragons over the course of a year or so. One or more planners/coordinators would design the breeding calendar and assign several stud-providers to each new target dragon when it's time to switch. A few stud providers would be in charge of providing gemstone seeds and other limiteds when available, otherwise the remainder of providers would just progress through the list of dragons (by level/name maybe) as assigned by a planner/coordinator. The only "downside" is that stud-providers would potentially be overwhelmed with twins (many will not regard this as a downside!). Stud providers would have to be diligent about resetting their shared dragon if they choose to breed for other than their assigned one.
I would be willing to sign up as a stud provider for this purpose, and even serve as a planner/coordinator (though this role might be better served by a real mod).
Could be a good idea, but I don't think anyone is able to update their dragon at any time? So what makes someone applicable for being a provider for all. I think people should just state in this forum whether they are in to collect all the twins like me, or are out, or somewhere in between. And if people want a specific dragon up, our current system is working pretty well, right?
Yes, you can update your dragon at any time, you just have to remember to do so after breeding for something else so that you switch back to your assigned shared dragon. The point of doing it the way I'm suggesting is that we would have a controlled and predictable way of progressing through all available dragons without having to coordinate chaotically with somebody else. Anybody interested in continuing with the current ad hoc method would of course still be able to do so.
The other upside is it represents another fun community-level cooperative venture like the last call comps!

ETA: More detail about how it might work:
The main objective would be to leverage cloning for the best odds of achieving a given twin except where cloning isn't available (hence the designation of gemstone stud-providers who would share the seed dragons for the currently available gemstone). Maybe we could have several different target dragons available across the set of stud-providers for the target period (a week or so?) to provide a little flexibility about twinning opportunities (although this might make it difficult to get twins for all of them, so maybe not a good idea). Stud-providers should probably try to share low level dragons to reduce the probability of epic/limited fails (I think the cloning probability remains constant for all levels and only the probability of epics/rares changes with level... but I could be wrong!).
Just a reminder for my new breeding buddies, be sure to note the No Gifts designation in the sharing post and the member profile! While I would love to return gems to everybody who has gifted me, all my dailies are accounted for (and I feel guilty not being able to return the favor).
In other news, there's a 28.5 hour dragon cooking away in my nursery and a single Polarian between me and Sparkle City! Life Is Good!

The discussion about displaying one of each reminds me of a feature request I made to BFS a while back: it would be nice if the Dragonarium had groups to help determine this, "Dragons on display" or "Dragons not on display" or some such. Or maybe a marking like the Limited flag indicating whether that dragon is on display.
Now with the appearance of twins I'd like something similar to help manage them as well so I can more easily track which dragons I have twinned and which eggs I have twinned.
C'mon BFS, your developers don't need ALL of their weekends free, right?
Twin dragons and eggs appear in the Dragonarium with a Gold border around them so you can see them at a glance.
Aha! Perfect! Sometimes BFS amazes me with their responsiveness!
