So I just had an interesting thing happen... I got into my park as usual and received 5 or 6 popups that I had received twins from various friends. I have only received a couple of these previously even though I have received and hatched more twins than I got popups for. Several of these popups matched twin dragons I had already received and hatched and are living in my park! So it's as if the notification popups were stuck in limbo and suddenly found their way to my park well after I hatched their corresponding twin.
At this point I'm not sure if twins are getting lost in limbo, or notifications, or both. In any case I hope BFS gets a handle on this soon.

The discussion about displaying one of each reminds me of a feature request I made to BFS a while back: it would be nice if the Dragonarium had groups to help determine this, "Dragons on display" or "Dragons not on display" or some such. Or maybe a marking like the Limited flag indicating whether that dragon is on display.
Now with the appearance of twins I'd like something similar to help manage them as well so I can more easily track which dragons I have twinned and which eggs I have twinned.
C'mon BFS, your developers don't need ALL of their weekends free, right?

G'day DV Community! As it's the beginning of the week I have some email tasks I need to take care of, I hope nobody minds!
Dear BFS, please make it easier to determine which dragon we have designated for coop breeding. Also, please don't switch out the shared dragon for the one I happen to be breeding in the coop cave (or at least make it optional).
Dear Coop Breeding Buddies, oops, I forgot to set my low-level Bizurian back as my shared dragon after breeding with a different one. That has been corrected and the Bizurian is back!
Dear Mods, my name in the sharing post has lost its "(No gifts)" notation!
Dear Mom, thanks for having us over for dinner last week, it was lovely!

Another rare down! I got a surprise Bizurian yesterday (forgot to check the breed time). My wife has requested I share the Bizurian (she doesn't want more friends), so please update my shared dragon in the list. As before, I have left the dragon at a low level in the hope it reduces epic fails.

Woohoo! Finally got a Sorarian! Mods, please record in Ye Olde Book Of Sharing that I am now offering a Sorarian for cooperative breeding. I have left him at a low level in the hope of limiting epic fails.
BigZ If you count the twin you got me, I have now gotten four pretty much back-to-back Bizurian Dragons! And I thought that they were supposed to be rare!
This is obviously because "BigZ" is short for "Bizurian"

Though the completist in me weeps at the thought, I have reluctantly concluded that I can't devote the real estate required to display both twin and normal versions of each egg, so I have opted for the "replace normal eggs with twin eggs as I get them" approach. Now I just need to decide whether to prioritize twin dragons or twin eggs... I might need therapy...
The completist in me also weeps at the thought that it will take more years than are left in DragonVale to collect twin dragons and twin eggs for every dragon, but that's a whole 'nother couch session.

When I read your post I thought it was a sigh of satisfaction. When I saw the image, I realized it was a cry of frustration!
ETA: ARRRGGGHH! I got a 46 hour Bronze right after answering you! You jinxed me!
Well, as it turns out, my Bronze ended up being a twin! So not so much a curse as a blessing!
This breeding was two days ago and so I don't even remember who's dragon I was breeding with (and the retry button was not available so they have changed their dragon). Whoever you were, o forgotten breeding partner, thanks for the DNA and I hope you wanted a Bronze twin!

Hi overworked and underpaid mods! Nobody has added my poor common Antarian to the first page yet. GCID akaSkitch (no gifts) please.
I would put a more rare dragon up if I could, but I need to leave a Galaxy dragon there for now because my wife wants Galaxies but doesn't want to add friends and I haven't scored a rarer Galaxy yet!

Ahaha! Between deadline pressures at work and the speed of this thread I somehow missed the call to explicitly post your shared dragon (I only saw the post about adding it to your profile). So:
Young Antarian seeking companionship, levels 4-11, genderfluid, not interested in long-term commitments, but offspring, particularly twins, a definite goal! If interested, please contact me at GCID: akaSkitch (no gifts please, I'm not that kind of dragon).

Does anyone know... Is it possible to delete or reset a park and get a different galaxy dragon for free? That's the only way I would be able to get the other galaxy dragons as I cannot open up the wife's GC account to friends for this. Otherwise, this may be the update that finally gets me to give up on this app.
As Climo indicated, you can create new GC accounts to create a new park. If you only have access to one device it can get a little messy signing in and out of more than one GC account, but it's completely doable. So a long term goal for you could be to keep creating throwaway accounts until you finally achieve one of each kind of Galaxy dragon and then send friend requests to your wife from each of those successful accounts. That way you'll keep it all in the family

I got the fourth twin dragon from the same person. It is an iron this time. I have to wait until my baby park reaches Level 18 to collect the dragon.
Ouch, I didn't see that coming (though I should have with a little thought...). My own baby park is strictly for sending gems to my main park and providing quick-find party hats during events and whatnot, so I want to keep it low-level. I haven't received any twins yet (the curse of starting with the most common Galaxy dragon ) so I'm not clear on what's possible on the gift tab. From the screenshots above it looks like there isn't a way to decline the gift... Does that mean gifts above your level will be stuck there forever if you don't level up?
One minor annoyance with the new setup: I like to display each class flag with a group of habitats of that class (because how else are the visiting wizards, witches, and warlocks going to know what types of dragon they are looking at?!?). No good place to put the Galaxy flag. grmbl grmbl grmbl
I treat it the same way as I do the Gem dragons. The flag goes on the closest island, which in this case is Island #6
Tragically this appears to be my only option! At least with the gemstones it's possible to build gemstone habitats on the main islands, which I have (of course!) done. I will be very surprised if they offer Galaxy habitats for the mainland!

Wow, I upgraded earlier at work and ran it long enough to determine it would need more attention than I could spare... Now I feel hopelessly behind!
Skitch...
No worry, there is no behind. This is permanent, not an event. Have fun.
Poppy
Lol, thanks Poppy! I knew it wasn't an event, I just meant that everybody else is already posting about second and third round breedings, and getting a chance at rares, and monoliths and snowflakes, and I'm still trying to figure out the basic basics! There's really a lot of new stuff to figure out here, it's quite exciting!

Does the glowing outline stay if it's displayed? O.O does the twin dragon glow?
The twin dragon does not glow. The orb above the head is different though, as well as the portrait. I don't know about the crown. I have not displayed a pedestal, but I expect it to look different, just as it looks when at the nursery.
Oh, please, no! My "gotta have em all" disease will break my iPad!

And so it's over, with no sign of a new breeding area...
I love my shiny new weather station and I enjoyed the premise of this event (I'm a backyard astronomer and a big fan of Neil deGrasse Tyson), but I really think BFS needs to step back from these events for a while. Not only are many of us event-weary, but in my opinion BFS should take some time to review their code and their procedures. The failures we've seen in the last few events have all been in the mechanics of the event flow itself and seemingly not related to new features released concurrently (such as the weather station or the new breeding rules). This should be settled code by now and there's really no excuse for events ending late or early or badly or anything else at this point.
I love Dragonvale, but I dislike the frequent bouts of frustration and uncertainty that these events invariably bring.

Woohoo! Achieved the weather station ahead of schedule thanks to several of you generous people tossing extra gifts my way! Yet another demonstration of what sets this community apart! Please be sure to send the next round to others who may still be behind.

Whew, successfully avoided gifting this evening... Now I just have to remember to hold off in the morning...
The weather station is going to be a close thing for me, I had more than my fair share of 24 hour quests and didn't spend gems regularly enough. Going to have to be vigilant this weekend, but I think I should make it!

Given that doubles are all but certain to start tomorrow morning BFS time, and given that my brain disengages allowing my finger to send gifts on autopilot whenever they have reset, I have proactively moved DragonVale from my home screen to a folder. Hopefully the necessity of digging around to feed my DV habit will remind me to HOLD OFF GIFTING UNTIL TOMORROW!
That is all.
