Agggh! You know how you go to tap something and just as your finger is about to hit the screen you realize you're making an error but it's too late to stop? Kairos was ready to fire, so I finished my breedings, tapped all habitats to collect gems and coins, including those that hadn't filled enough to display a collection icon, planted pumpermelons ('cause who wants to waste 5 hours growing 1 hour beanstalks?), and went to activate Kairos. And just as my finger was treacherously committing my action I realized I hadn't started new breedings. Two Bicentennial retries wasted. Hate it when that happens...

Wonder how many gems Skitch is gonna pay the winner
Haha, I was wondering the same thing and came on to figure it out. Hasbro closed at $57.46 today and $57.36 when the contest started, so that's (57.46 - 57.36) x 10 = 1 gem... Hmmm, that didn't turn out nearly as interesting as it did in my head when I first pledged it...

Ugh, one thing in the new update I don't like at all is the view zooming to the nursery after you finish a breeding. It deselects the island and scrolls all the way across my park, so it makes it inconvenient to hit "Retry", which I tend to do far more often than not. Ah, progress.

Whew, luckily I got my second Gourd a few hours before it disappeared so at least I don't have to stress about that! But this Bicentennial is killin' me...

Zah? I think your payments have been getting lost in the mail! I've got you and the rest of the Ragnarokers in the "in arrears" column and my gem fortune is sadly growing only at the long-established daily-gem-buddy-gem-habitat-and-colosseum rate (though ceme was gifting me daily for a while for reasons I don't really understand [but that I greatly appreciated!]). However, I'd be happy to help you establish a payment plan to get your heads back above water!
I'm sure they appreciate you setting a plan for them, but I must ask - what are your interest rates?
Having just watched "The Sopranos" again, I'm thinking 30% per week sounds about right. You know, to cover... expenses... and stuff.

Besides, I know he already has tons of gems because we have each been paying him one a day for quite a while now.

1 day and 40 some-odd minutes on the island... this can only be the elusive Gourd! Surely this signals the end of my long drought! Now just 1 more and a couple Bicentennials and I'll only have to deal with Berry in the next BEB.

Well, it took them a while, but Backflip came through! Recall from above that I had achieved the first Spooky theme and received the candy cauldron but my event had ended a day earlier than the timer indicated it would. They reviewed my situation and gifted me the 100 gems and an extra Spooky theme!
I am, once again, a happy 'valer! (Well, except for not being able to breed a stupid Berry, Gourd, or Bicentennial dragon... but that I can live with!)

Last call for Berry. Leaving in approximatly 72 hours according to the countdown, despite the fasct that the text clearly says "Available through November 20th"
Also, Dream Dragons are on sale for 360 Gems
Oh noes!

Ahem, cough...today is Wednesday and the two "laggers" better be talking to those Dragons. I have gems to send and my Dragons are asking why we are not sending them to you.
sigh_textIf only talking to them helped... I'm breeding for this guy in both sites now. Starting to worry about getting a Gourd!
But if you want to see some real laggards, go check out the Ragnarokers, there's SIX of them, and that dragon has been available much longer!

I know you have concerns w/ Bicentennial vs. Berry departure time, but I would go w/ Bicentennial and Gourd.
Are there any other dragons that you need? Check w/ sandbox and see if you can double it up w/ those three. BeB is the time to catch up, and it is really quiet, no new dragons..etc. Factor BeB in.
Well, I am factoring BEB in, but I like to treat it as a last resort (because we don't really know if Backflip will always have one but even if we assume they will, all the extra dragons can make it more difficult to breed the specific target you're looking for). My preference is to have a strategy that maximizes the probability of getting all limited dragons during their first availability period on the conservative assumption that that'll be the only shot (even though in practice it doesn't seem likely that'll ever happen). So my current thinking is that even a single Berry lets me continue trying for a full set, but I need at least two Bicentennials (and now 2 Gourds) to ensure a full set without having to rely on BEB.
This is what I would do: Breed for Berry on the island and Gourd on the cave. Once you have bred a Berry, switch it out for Bicentennial (you can always get another with just one). Since both Berry and Bicentennial both don't have any rare fails, the island would work best. Then once you get your Bicentennial + egg, use both sites for Gourd.
But if they ever announce the leave date of Gourd, I would immediately get to work on that since I'm sure it will be the first one gone out of the three.
This approach would be a good one if there weren't any other criteria than just getting the dragons, because Bicentennial will likely be available for much longer than Berry or Gourd. But the problem with it is that I can't stop breeding for Bicentennial because I'm not willing to give up on the Last Call comp. So my real objective has to be choosing a strategy that gives the best shot at getting all three dragons without having to wait for BEB and without suspending Bicentennial...

Ok, this is starting to feel like my Sprout nightmare all over. Need some advice from you dragon-breeding experts out there. I'm in the Bicentennial comp and have been using one breeding site in the hunt for that dragon. I've been using the other breeding site trying for a Berry dragon, but I'm not in the Berry comp. No success in either site yet. Using high level dragons in both sites.
I am most worried about the Bicentennial dragon since it has been out the longest, it's a specific celebration dragon so it will probably only become available again during BEB, and it's not an epic so I won't be able to breed for another (not to mention an egg) outside BEB unless I already have a pair. According to the Sandbox, the probability of a first Berry is 3% while the probability of a first Bicentennial is only 2%. For these reasons I've temporarily suspended breeding for Berry in hope of quickly getting two Bicentennials, after which if I can just get a single Berry I can at least breed another outside its availability period using other Seasonals. The only issue with this approach is that the Bicentennial dragon is likely to be around for a while (Century was around for 100 days if I recall correctly) and Berry is likely to go away soonish.
Of course the new Gourd dragon just increases the pressure to get all of this done in a timely manner...
Thoughts? Advice?

Sigh. Just a few weeks ago my dragonarium was all sparkly and lively, and now I'm down three dragons. And all limited too! The thrice-cursed Goals window, empty for so long, is just sitting there. Mocking me. MOCKING ME!!!
Maybe I should be holding my tongue on the LEFT side of my mouth when I start a breeding...

Status update: I am now holding my tongue on the right side of my mouth when I start a new breeding. Because this seemed to work once. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Did it work?
I know this particular mod that does a tongue sticking out a lot, apparently it works for him.
Tragically, no. I may have to pull out all the stops and turn around twice before hitting the breed button, or maybe even dig out my lucky socks.

I have been playing DV for over a year and was thoroughly enjoying the game until Backflip had their last goof up with the candy bash game. I the Monday Nov 3 I believe it was the game shut down 24 hours earlier that it did for most players. I was only 134 gems away from earning the last spooky island. I was attempting to purchase them during the end of the candy sale when poof it all disappeared. In a matter of min I was given food and the cauldron and sent on my way. I immeadiately sent an email to support and after waiting a week I got a respond to send my game id to them and now when I look it shows my issue resolved I have sent 3 other email and nor response to them either. What upset me the most was many of my game friends had finished but were not ending the game cause they wanted to keep collecting candy to get the food. that is fine but then BF rewarded them by giving them gems food and another spooky island. If the game had not ended for me when it did I would have had enough candy to have my spooky island. I dont know why they could not have just turned the game back on or given the same compensation across the board to everyone. I am so upset by this I have not gone back to the game to play just to check on status I have not collected the food or the cauldron they gave me cause I am willing for them to take it back if they give me the island. Has anyone else had issue similar to mine and have you had any resolution?
This is very similar to my situation. My response to Backflip is a few posts up on this thread. They haven't responded yet to my further emails. I feel they "solved" this issue in a very lopsided, unfair way.
